Characterization of Anomalous Forces in Dielectric Rotors

We performed several measurements of anomalous forces on a dielectric rotor in operation, subjected to high voltage. The device operated under constant and intense angular velocity for each high voltage applied. The measurements were made in the similar way than an analogue magnetic gyroscope, by considering clockwise and counterclockwise rotations. We found that there are significant weight reduction on the device in the clockwise case, with one order of magnitude higher than the magnetic case. In addition, we detected a similar asymmetry in the observation of the effect, that is, there are smaller results for the anomalous forces in counterclockwise rotation. We also propose a theoretical model to explain the quantitative effect based on average values of macroscopic observables of the device rotation and concluded that it is consistent with the experimental results.

Induction of Forces Performed by Piezoelectric Materials

We describe the phenomenon of generation of an external field of forces from piezoelectric materials subjected to the application of electric fields or mechanical stress. The piezoelectric materials are shown as being capable of producing induction forces in external objects and we conclude that the nature of the forces generated are not originated from the traditional interactions. Further we specifically assert that the generation of forces by the piezoelectric materials is ruled by the hypothesis of preexisting condition of generalized quantum entanglement between the molecular structure of the material bulk and the surrounding environment. In addition the widely spread coupling of the molecules with the environment can be manifested from the so-called direct effect or the converse effect in piezoelectric materials and this coupling is not intermediated by acoustic waves or electromagnetic fields. We show that the novel effect has a theoretical explanation consistent with the generalized quantum entanglements and the direction of the induced forces depends on either the direction of the mechanical force or the electric field applied in these materials.

Geometrical Aspects of Venus Transit

We obtained two astronomical values, the Earth-Venus distance and Venus diameter, by means of a geometrical treatment of photos taken of Venus transit in June of 2012. Here we presented the static and translational modelsthat were elaborated taking into account the Earth and Venus orbital movements. An additional correction was also added by considering the Earth rotation movement. The results obtained were compared with the values of reference from literature, showing very good concordance.

Anomalous Effects from Dipole-Environment Quantum Entanglement

In this work, we analyze anomalous effects observed in the operation of two different technological devices: a magnetic core and a parallel plate (symmetrical or asymmetrical) capacitor. From experimental measurements on both devices, we detected small raised anomalous forces that cannot be explained by known interactions in the traditional theories. As the variations of device inertia have not been completely understood by means of current theories, we here propose a theoretical framework in which the anomalous effects can consistently be explained by a preexisting state of quantum entanglement between the external environment and either magnetic dipoles of magnetic cores or electric dipoles of capacitors, so that the effects would be manifested by the application of a strong magnetic field on the former or an intense electric field on the latter. The values of the macroscopic observables calculated in such a theoretical framework revealed good agreement with the experimental measurements performed in both cases, so that the non - locality hypothesis based on the generalized quantum correlation between dipoles and environment is consistent as explanation for the anomalous effects observed. The control and enhancement of the effect can allow the future viability of a new technology based on electric propulsion of rockets and aircrafts.

On the Anomalous Weight Losses of High Voltage Symmetrical Capacitors

In this work, we analyzed an anomalous effect verified from symmetrical capacitor devices, working in very high electric potentials. The mastery of that effect could mean in the future the possible substitution of propulsion technology based on fuels by single electrical propulsion systems. From experimental measurements, we detected small variations of the device inertia that cannot be associated with known interactions, so that the raised force apparently has not been completely elucidated by current theories. We measured such variations within an accurate range and we proposed that the experimental results can be explained by relations like Clausius-Mossotti one, in order to quantify the dipole forces that appear in the devices. The values of the weight losses in the capacitors were calculated by means of the theoretical proposal and indicated good agreement with our experimental measurements for 7kV and with many other experimental works.

Electromagnetic Structure of the Pion

In this work, we analyze the electromagnetic structure of the pion. We calculate its electromagnetic radius and electromagnetic form factor in low and intermediate momentum range. Such observables are determined by means of a theoretical model that takes into account the constituent quark and antiquark of the pion within the formalism of light-front field theory. In particular, we consider a nonsymmetrical vertex in this model, with which we calculate the electromagnetic form factor of the pion in an optimized way, so that we obtain a value closer to the experimental charge radius of the pion. The theoretical calculations are also compared with the most recent experimental data involving the pion electromagnetic form factor and the results show very good agreement.

The Electromagnetic Form Factor of the Kaon in the Light-Front Approach

The kaon electromagnetic form factor is calculated within a light-front constituent quark model (LFCQM). The electromagnetic components of the current are extracted from the Feynman triangle diagram within the light-front approach. We also obtain the electroweak decay constant and the charge radius for the kaon in the light-front approach. In this work, the kaon observables are calculated and a fairly good agreement is obtained with a very higher accuracy when compared with the experimental data.

Pion and kaon elastic form factors in a refined light-front model

Within the framework of light-front field theory, we reassess the electromagnetic form factors of the pion and kaon. Comparison with experiment is made for the full range of momentum transfer, q^2<0, including recent data. The light-front model's single regulator mass, m_R, of the \bar qq bound-state vertex function is initially adjusted to reproduce the weak decay constants, f_π and f_K, and both meson's charge radii, r_π and r_K. We study the behavior of these observables under variation of the quark masses and find an optimized parameter set, m_u=m_d, m_s and m_R, for which they are in sensibly better agreement with experiment than in a previous analysis; a feature also observed for the elastic form factors, in particular at small q^2. This model refinement is important in view of an extension to vector and heavy-light mesons.

Three-Body Recombination in Ultracold Systems: Prediction of Weakly-Bound Atomic Trimer Energies

The three-body recombination coefficient of a trapped ultracold atomic system, together with the corresponding two-body scattering length $a$, allow us to predict the energy $E_3$ of the shallow trimer bound state, using a universal scaling function. The production of dimers in Bose-Einstein condensates, from three-body recombination processes, in the regime of short magnetic pulses near a Feshbach resonance, is also studied in line with the experimental observation.

Coherent dimer formation near Feshbach resonances in Bose-Einstein condensates

The results of a recent experiment with $^{85}$Rb Bose-Einstein condensates are analyzed within the mean-field approximation including dissipation due to three-body recombination. The intensity of the dissipative term is chosen from the three-body theory for large positive scattering lengths. The remaining number of condensed atoms in the experiment, obtained with applied magnetic field pulses, were used to adjust the intensity of the dissipative term. We found that the three-body recombination parameter depends on the pulse rise time; i.e., for longer rise times the values found become consistent with the three-body theory, while for shorter pulses this coefficient is found to be much larger. We interpret this finding as an indication of a coherent formation of dimers.

Stability of the trapped nonconservative Gross-Pitaevskii equation with attractive two-body interaction

The dynamics of a nonconservative Gross-Pitaevskii equation for trapped atomic systems with attractive two-body interaction is numerically investigated, considering wide variations of the nonconservative parameters, related to atomic feeding and dissipation. We study the possible limitations of the mean field description for an atomic condensate with attractive two-body interaction, by defining the parameter regions where stable or unstable formation can be found. The present study is useful and timely considering the possibility of large variations of attractive two-body scattering lengths, which may be feasible in recent experiments.

Effect of anharmonicities in the critical number of trapped condensed atoms with attractive two-body interaction

We determine the quantitative effect, in the maximum number of particles and other static observables, due to small anharmonic terms added to the confining potential of an atomic condensed system with negative two-body interaction. As an example of how a cubic or quartic anharmonic term can affect the maximum number of particles, we consider the trap parameters and the results given by Roberts et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 86, 4211 (2001)]. However, this study can be easily transferred to other trap geometries to estimate anharmonic effects.

Autosolitons in trapped Bose-Einstein condensates with two- and three-body inelastic processes

In this work, we consider the conditions for the existence of autosolitons, in trapped Bose-Einstein condensates with attractive atomic interactions. First, the variational approach is employed to estimate the stationary solutions for the three-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation with trap potential, linear atomic feeding from the thermal cloud and two- and three-body inelastic processes. Next, by using exact numerical calculations, we show that the variational approach gives reliable analytical results. We also discuss the possible observation of autosolitons in experiments with Lithium-7.
