A higher rank Racah algebra and the $\mathbb{Z}_2^{n}$ Laplace-Dunkl operator

A higher rank generalization of the (rank one) Racah algebra is obtained as the symmetry algebra of the Laplace-Dunkl operator associated to the $\mathbb{Z}_2^n$ root system. This algebra is also the invariance algebra of the generic superintegrable model on the $n$-sphere. Bases of Dunkl harmonics are constructed explicitly using a Cauchy-Kovalevskaia theorem. These bases consist of joint eigenfunctions of maximal Abelian subalgebras of the higher rank Racah algebra. A method to obtain expressions for both the connection coefficients between these bases and the action of the symmetries on these bases is presented.

Coupling coefficients of $su_q(1,1)$ and multivariate $q$-Racah polynomials

Gasper & Rahman's multivariate $q$-Racah polynomials are shown to arise as connection coefficients between families of multivariate $q$-Hahn or $q$-Jacobi polynomials. The families of $q$-Hahn polynomials are constructed as nested Clebsch--Gordan coefficients for the positive-discrete series representations of the quantum algebra $su_q(1,1)$. This gives an interpretation of the multivariate $q$-Racah polynomials in terms of $3nj$ symbols. It is shown that the families of $q$-Hahn polynomials also arise in wavefunctions of $q$-deformed quantum Calogero--Gaudin superintegrable systems.

RG Flow from $ϕ^4$ Theory to the 2D Ising Model

We study 1+1 dimensional $ϕ^4$ theory using the recently proposed method of conformal truncation. Starting in the UV CFT of free field theory, we construct a complete basis of states with definite conformal Casimir, $\mathcal{C}$. We use these states to express the Hamiltonian of the full interacting theory in lightcone quantization. After truncating to states with $\mathcal{C} \leq \mathcal{C}_{\max}$, we numerically diagonalize the Hamiltonian at strong coupling and study the resulting IR dynamics. We compute non-perturbative spectral densities of several local operators, which are equivalent to real-time, infinite-volume correlation functions. These spectral densities, which include the Zamolodchikov $C$-function along the full RG flow, are calculable at any value of the coupling. Near criticality, our numerical results reproduce correlation functions in the 2D Ising model.

Persymmetric Jacobi matrices, isospectral deformations and orthogonal polynomials

Persymmetric Jacobi matrices are invariant under reflection with respect to the anti-diagonal. The associated orthogonal polynomials have distinctive properties that are discussed. They are found in particular to be also orthogonal on the restrictions either to the odd or to the even points of the complete orthogonality lattice. This is exploited to design very efficient inverse problem algorithms for the reconstruction of persymmetric Jacobi matrices from spectral points. Isospectral deformations of such matrices are also considered. Expressions for the associated polynomials and their weights are obtained in terms of the undeformed entities.

A superintegrable model with reflections on $S^{n-1}$ and the higher rank Bannai-Ito algebra

A quantum superintegrable model with reflections on the $(n-1)$-sphere is presented. Its symmetry algebra is identified with the higher rank generalization of the Bannai-Ito algebra. It is shown that the Hamiltonian of the system can be constructed from the tensor product of $n$ representations of the superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$ and that the superintegrability is naturally understood in that setting. The separated solutions are obtained through the Fischer decomposition and a Cauchy-Kovalevskaia extension theorem.

Bannai-Ito algebras and the $osp(1,2)$ superalgebra

The Bannai-Ito algebra $B(n)$ of rank $(n-2)$ is defined as the algebra generated by the Casimir operators arising in the $n$-fold tensor product of the $osp(1,2)$ superalgebra. The structure relations are presented and representations in bases determined by maximal Abelian subalgebras are discussed. Comments on realizations as symmetry algebras of physical models are offered.

The $\mathbb{Z}_2^n$ Dirac-Dunkl operator and a higher rank Bannai-Ito algebra

The kernel of the $\mathbb{Z}_2^{n}$ Dirac-Dunkl operator is examined. The symmetry algebra $\mathcal{A}_{n}$ of the associated Dirac-Dunkl equation on $\mathbb{S}^{n-1}$ is determined and is seen to correspond to a higher rank generalization of the Bannai-Ito algebra. A basis for the polynomial null-solutions of the Dirac-Dunkl operator is constructed. The basis elements are joint eigenfunctions of a maximal commutative subalgebra of $\mathcal{A}_{n}$ and are given explicitly in terms of Jacobi polynomials. The symmetry algebra is shown to act irreducibly on this basis via raising/lowering operators. A scalar realization of $\mathcal{A}_{n}$ is proposed.

Supersymmetry of the quantum rotor

The quantum rotor is shown to be supersymmetric. The supercharge $Q$, whose square equals the Hamiltonian, is constructed with reflection operators. The conserved quantities that commute with $Q$ form the algebra $so(3)_{-1}$, an anticommutator version of $so(3)$. The subduced representation of $so(3)_{-1}$ on the space of spherical harmonics with total angular momentum $j$ is constructed and found to decompose into two irreducible components. Two natural bases for the irreducible representation spaces of $so(3)_{-1}$ are introduced and their overlap coefficients prove expressible in terms of orthogonal polynomials of a discrete variable called anti-Krawtchouk polynomials.

A superintegrable model with reflections on $S^3$ and the rank two Bannai-Ito algebra

A quantum superintegrable model with reflections on the three-sphere is presented. Its symmetry algebra is identified with the rank-two Bannai-Ito algebra. It is shown that the Hamiltonian of the system can be constructed from the tensor product of four representations of the superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$ and that the superintegrability is naturally understood in that setting. The exact separated solutions are obtained through the Fischer decomposition and a Cauchy-Kovalevskaia extension theorem.

Tridiagonalization of the hypergeometric operator and the Racah-Wilson algebra

The algebraic underpinning of the tridiagonalization procedure is investigated. The focus is put on the tridiagonalization of the hypergeometric operator and its associated quadratic Jacobi algebra. It is shown that under tridiagonalization, the quadratic Jacobi algebra becomes the quadratic Racah-Wilson algebra associated to the generic Racah/Wilson polynomials. A degenerate case leading to the Hahn algebra is also discussed.

An algebraic interpretation of the multivariate $q$-Krawtchouk polynomials

The multivariate quantum $q$-Krawtchouk polynomials are shown to arise as matrix elements of "$q$-rotations" acting on the state vectors of many $q$-oscillators. The focus is put on the two-variable case. The algebraic interpretation is used to derive the main properties of the polynomials: orthogonality, duality, structure relations, difference equations and recurrence relations. The extension to an arbitrary number of variables is presented

A superintegrable discrete harmonic oscillator based on bivariate Charlier polynomials

A simple discrete model of the two dimensional isotropic harmonic oscillator is presented. It is superintegrable with su(2) as its symmetry algebra. It is constructed with the help of the algebraic properties of the bivariate Charlier polyno-mials. This adds to the other discrete superintegrable models of the oscillator based on Krawtchouk and Meixner orthogonal polynomials in several variables.

A superintegrable discrete oscillator and two-variable Meixner polynomials

A superintegrable, discrete model of the quantum isotropic oscillator in two-dimensions is introduced. The system is defined on the regular, infinite-dimensional $\mathbb{N}\times \mathbb{N}$ lattice. It is governed by a Hamiltonian expressed as a seven-point difference operator involving three parameters. The exact solutions of the model are given in terms of the two-variable Meixner polynomials orthogonal with respect to the negative trinomial distribution. The constants of motion of the system are constructed using the raising and lowering operators for these polynomials. They are shown to generate an $\mathfrak{su}(2)$ invariance algebra. The two-variable Meixner polynomials are seen to support irreducible representations of this algebra. In the continuum limit, where the lattice constant tends to zero, the standard isotropic quantum oscillator in two dimensions is recovered. The limit process from the two-variable Meixner polynomials to a product of two Hermite polynomials is carried out by involving the bivariate Charlier polynomials.

Quantum spin chains with fractional revival

A systematic study of fractional revival at two sites in $XX$ quantum spin chains is presented and analytic models with this phenomenon are exhibited. The generic models have two essential parameters and a revival time that does not depend on the length of the chain. They are obtained by combining two basic ways of realizing fractional revival in a spin chain each bringing one parameter. The first proceeds through isospectral deformations of spin chains with perfect state transfer. The second arises from the recurrence coefficients of the para-Krawtchouk polynomials with a bi-lattice orthogonality grid. It corresponds to an analytic model previously identified that can possess perfect state transfer in addition to fractional revival.

Exact Fractional Revival in Spin Chains

The occurrence of fractional revival in quantum spin chains is examined. Analytic models where this phenomenon can be exhibited in exact solutions are provided. It is explained that spin chains with fractional revival can be obtained by isospectral deformations of spin chains with perfect state transfer.

The non-symmetric Wilson polynomials are the Bannai-Ito polynomials

The one-variable non-symmetric Wilson polynomials are shown to coincide with the Bannai-Ito polynomials. The isomorphism between the corresponding degenerate double affine Hecke algebra of type $(C_1^{\vee}, C_1)$ and the Bannai-Ito algebra is established. The Bannai-Ito polynomials are seen to satisfy an orthogonality relation with respect to a positive-definite and continuous measure on the real line. A non-compact form of the Bannai-Ito algebra is introduced and a four-parameter family of its infinite-dimensional and self-adjoint representations is exhibited.

Embeddings of the Racah Algebra into the Bannai-Ito Algebra

Embeddings of the Racah algebra into the Bannai-Ito algebra are proposed in two realizations. First, quadratic combinations of the Bannai-Ito algebra generators in their standard realization on the space of polynomials are seen to generate a central extension of the Racah algebra. The result is also seen to hold independently of the realization. Second, the relationship between the realizations of the Bannai-Ito and Racah algebras by the intermediate Casimir operators of the $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$ and $\mathfrak{su}(1,1)$ Racah problems is established. Equivalently, this gives an embedding of the invariance algebra of the generic superintegrable system on the two-sphere into the invariance algebra of its extension with reflections, which are respectively isomorphic to the Racah and Bannai-Ito algebras.
