One-Dimensional Impenetrable Anyons in Thermal Equilibrium. III. Large distance asymptotics of the space correlations

Using the determinant representation for the field-field correlation functions of impenetrable anyons at finite temperature obtained in a previous paper, we derive a system of nonlinear partial differential equations completely characterizing the correlators. The system is the same as the one for impenetrable bosons but with different initial conditions. The large-distance asymptotic behavior of the correlation functions is obtained from the analysis of the Riemann-Hilbert problem associated with the system of differential equations. We calculate both the exponential and pre-exponential factors in the asymptotics of the field-field correlators. The asymptotics derived in this way agree with those of the free fermions and impenetrable bosons in the appropriate limits, $κ\to 1$ and $κ\to 0$, of the statistics parameter $κ$, and coincide with the predictions of the conformal field theory at low temperatures.

Large-Distance Asymptotic Behavior of the Correlation Functions of 1D Impenetrable Anyons at Finite Temperatures

The large-distance asymptotic behavior of the field-field correlators has been computed for one-dimensional impenetrable anyons at finite temperatures. The asymptotic behavior agrees with the predictions of conformal field theory at low temperatures and reproduces the known results for impenetrable bosons and free fermions in appropriate limits. We have also obtained an integrable system of partial nonlinear differential equations which completely characterizes the 2-point correlation functions. The system is the same as for bosons but with different initial conditions.

One-Dimensional Impenetrable Anyons in Thermal Equilibrium. II. Determinant Representation for the Dynamic Correlation Functions

We have obtained a determinant representation for the time- and temperature-dependent field-field correlation function of the impenetrable Lieb-Liniger gas of anyons through direct summation of the form factors. In the static case, the obtained results are shown to be equivalent to those that follow from the anyonic generalization of Lenard's formula.

One-Dimensional Impenetrable Anyons in Thermal Equilibrium. I. Anyonic Generalization of Lenard's Formula

We have obtained an expansion of the reduced density matrices (or, equivalently, correlation functions of the fields) of impenetrable one-dimensional anyons in terms of the reduced density matrices of fermions using the mapping between anyon and fermion wavefunctions. This is the generalization to anyonic statistics of the result obtained by A. Lenard for bosons. In the case of impenetrable but otherwise free anyons with statistical parameter $κ$, the anyonic reduced density matrices in the grand canonical ensemble is expressed as Fredholm minors of the integral operator ($1-γ\hat θ_T$) with complex statistics-dependent coefficient $γ=(1+e^{\pm iπκ})/ π$. For $κ=0$ we recover the bosonic case of Lenard $γ=2/π$. Due to nonconservation of parity, the anyonic field correlators $\la \fad(x')\fa(x)\ra$ are different depending on the sign of $x'-x$.

Block Spin Density Matrix of the Inhomogeneous AKLT Model

We study the inhomogeneous generalization of a 1-dimensional AKLT spin chain model. Spins at each lattice site could be different. Under certain conditions, the ground state of this AKLT model is unique and is described by the Valence-Bond-Solid (VBS) state. We calculate the density matrix of a contiguous block of bulk spins in this ground state. The density matrix is independent of spins outside the block. It is diagonalized and shown to be a projector onto a subspace. We prove that for large block the density matrix behaves as the identity in the subspace. The von Neumann entropy coincides with Renyi entropy and is equal to the saturated value.

Entanglement and Density Matrix of a Block of Spins in AKLT Model

We study a 1-dimensional AKLT spin chain, consisting of spins $S$ in the bulk and $S/2$ at both ends. The unique ground state of this AKLT model is described by the Valence-Bond-Solid (VBS) state. We investigate the density matrix of a contiguous block of bulk spins in this ground state. It is shown that the density matrix is a projector onto a subspace of dimension $(S+1)^{2}$. This subspace is described by non-zero eigenvalues and corresponding eigenvectors of the density matrix. We prove that for large block the von Neumann entropy coincides with Renyi entropy and is equal to $\ln(S+1)^{2}$.

Correlation Functions of One-Dimensional Lieb-Liniger Anyons

We have investigated the properties of a model of 1D anyons interacting through a $δ$-function repulsive potential. The structure of the quasi-periodic boundary conditions for the anyonic field operators and the many-anyon wavefunctions is clarified. The spectrum of the low-lying excitations including the particle-hole excitations is calculated for periodic and twisted boundary conditions. Using the ideas of the conformal field theory we obtain the large-distance asymptotics of the density and field correlation function at the critical temperature T=0 and at small finite temperatures. Our expression for the field correlation function extends the results in the literature obtained for harmonic quantum anyonic fluids.

Entanglement in an SU(n) Valence-Bond-Solid State

We investigate entanglement properties in the ground state of the open/periodic SU($n$) generalized valence-bond-solid state consisting of representations of SU($n$). We obtain exact expression for the reduced density matrix of a block of contiguous spins and explicitly evaluate the von Neumann and the Rényi entropies. We discover that the Rényi entropy is independent of the parameter $α$ in the limit of large block sizes and its value $2 \log n$ coincides with that of von Neumann entropy. We also find the direct relation between the reduced density matrix of the subsystem and edge states for the corresponding open boundary system.

XXX Spin Chain: from Bethe Solution to Open Problems

We present some open problems in the field of exactly solvable models. Two of the problems are related to the correlation functions of the XXX spin chain and the XXZ spin chain, one to the entropy of subsystems and one to the six vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions.

Group Theoretical Formulation of Quantum Partial Search Algorithm

Searching and sorting used as a subroutine in many important algorithms. Quantum algorithm can find a target item in a database faster than any classical algorithm. One can trade accuracy for speed and find a part of the database (a block) containing the target item even faster, this is partial search. An example is the following: exact address of the target item is given by a sequence of many bits, but we need to know only some of them. More generally partial search considers the following problem: a database is separated into several blocks. We want to find a block with the target item, not the target item itself. In this paper we reformulate quantum partial search algorithm in terms of group theory.

Simple Algorithm for Partial Quantum Search

Quite often in database search, we only need to extract portion of the information about the satisfying item. Recently Radhakrishnan & Grover [RG] considered this problem in the following form: the database of $N$ items was divided into $K$ equally sized blocks. The algorithm has just to find the block containing the item of interest. The queries are exactly the same as in the standard database search problem. [RG] invented a quantum algorithm for this problem of partial search that took about $0.33\sqrt{N/K}$ fewer iterations than the quantum search algorithm. They also proved that the best any quantum algorithm could do would be to save $0.78 \sqrt(N/K)$ iterations. The main limitation of the algorithm was that it involved complicated analysis as a result of which it has been inaccessible to most of the community. This paper gives a simple analysis of the algorithm. This analysis is based on three elementary observations about quantum search, does not require a single equation and takes less than 2 pages.

On the probability of ferromagnetic strings in antiferromagnetic spin chains

We study the probability of formation of ferromagnetic string in the antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 XXZ chain. We show that in the limit of long strings with weak magnetization per site the bosonization technique can be used to address the problem. At zero temperature the obtained probability is Gaussian as a function of the length of the string. At finite but low temperature there is a crossover from the Gaussian behavior at intermediate lengths of strings to the exponential decay for very long strings. Although the weak magnetization per site is a necessary small parameter justifying our results, the extrapolation of obtained results to the case of maximally ferromagnetic strings is in qualitative agreement with known numerics and exact results. The effect of an external magnetic field on the probability of formation of ferromagnetic strings is also studied.

Formfactors in the half-filled Hubbard model

We consider dynamical spin-spin correlation functions in the one dimensional repulsive half-filled Hubbard model. We propose an exact expression for the two spinon formfactor of spin operators. We use this to derive the two spinon contribution to the dynamical structure factor.

The Determinant Representation for a Correlation Function in Scaling Lee-Yang Model

We consider the scaling Lee-Yang model. It corresponds to the unique perturbation of the minimal CFT model M(2,5). This is not a unitary model. We used known expression for form factors in order to obtain a closed expression for a correlation function of a trace of energy-momentum tensor. This expression is a determinant of an integral operator. Similar determinant representation were proven to be useful not only for quantum correlation functions but also in matrix models.

Temperature Corrections to Conformal Field Theory

We consider finite temperature dynamical correlation functions in the interacting delta-function Bose gas. In the low-temperature limit the asymptotic behaviour of correlation functions can be determined from conformal field theory. In the present work we determine the deviations from conformal behaviour at low temperatures.

Determinant representation for a quantum correlation function of the lattice sine-Gordon model

We consider a completely integrable lattice regularization of the sine-Gordon model with discrete space and continuous time. We derive a determinant representation for a correlation function which in the continuum limit turns into the correlation function of local fields. The determinant is then embedded into a system of integrable integro-differential equations. The leading asymptotic behaviour of the correlation function is described in terms of the solution of a Riemann Hilbert Problem (RHP) related to the system of integro-differential equations. The leading term in the asymptotical decomposition of the solution of the RHP is obtained.

Painlevé Transcendent Describes Quantum Correlation Function of the XXZ Antiferromagnet away from the free-fermion point

We consider quantum correlation functions of the antiferromagnetic spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ Heisenberg XXZ spin chain in a magnetic field. We show that for a magnetic field close to the critical field $h_c$ (for the critical magnetic field the ground state is ferromagnetic) certain correlation functions can be expressed in terms of the solution of the Painlevé V transcendent. This establishes a relation between solutions of Painlevé differential equations and quantum correlation functions in models of {\sl interacting} fermions. Painlevé transcendents were known to describe correlation functions in models with free fermionic spectra.
