Estimates of Dirichlet eigenvalues of divergent elliptic operators in non-Lipschitz domains

We study spectral estimates of the divergence form uniform elliptic operators $-\textrm{div}[A(z) \nabla f(z)]$ with the Dirichlet boundary condition in bounded non-Lipschitz simply connected domains $Ω\subset \mathbb C$. The suggested method is based on the quasiconformal composition operators on Sobolev spaces with applications to the weighted Poincaré-Sobolev inequalities.

Space quasiconformal composition operators with applications to Neumann eigenvalues

In this article we obtain estimates of Neumann eigenvalues of $p$-Laplace operators in a large class of space domains satisfying quasihyperbolic boundary conditions. The suggested method is based on composition operators generated by quasiconformal mappings and their applications to Sobolev-Poincaré-inequalities. By using a sharp version of the inverse Hölder inequality we refine our estimates for quasi-balls, that is, images of balls under quasiconformal mappings of the whole space.

Quasiconformal Mappings and Neumann Eigenvalues of Divergent Elliptic Operators

We study spectral properties of divergence form elliptic operators $-\textrm{div} [A(z) \nabla f(z)]$ with the Neumann boundary condition in planar domains (including some fractal type domains), that satisfy to the quasihyperbolic boundary conditions. Our method is based on an interplay between quasiconformal mappings, elliptic operators and composition operators on Sobolev spaces.

The dynamics of polydisperse spray fuel in thermal explosion processes

The dynamics of the particle-size distribution (PSD) of the polydispersed fuel is important for evaluation of the combustion process. In this paper we unfold the mystery of the dynamics represented by the PSD and gain new insight for the droplet behavior during the ignition process. A simplified model of the polydispersity is used for describing the system near the linear region, which evolves time depended function which describes the PSD. We examine the PSD uctuation in time of the initial PSD described by the experimental as well as the Rosin-Rammler, Nukiyama-Tanasawa and the gamma distributions approximations. The results shows that the during the ignition process the droplets radii decrease as expected, yet the number of the smaller droplet increase in inverse proportion to the radius. An important novel result visualized by the graph, is the average radius of the droplets which first increases for shot time following by decreasing. The last result show the maximum of average radius is not located at the beginning of the process as expected. The algorithm presented here is superior to the parcel approach, since it can be applied for any approximation of the PSD, with negligible computation time.

Spectral Stability Estimates of Neumann Divergence Form Elliptic Operators

We study spectral stability estimates of elliptic operators in divergence form $-\textrm{div} [A(w) \nabla g(w)]$ with the Neumann boundary condition in non-Lipschitz domains $Ω\subset \mathbb C$. The suggested method is based on connections of planar quasiconformal mappings with Sobolev spaces and its applications to the Poincaré inequalities.

Spectral Stability Estimates of Dirichlet Divergence Form Elliptic Operators

We study spectral stability estimates of elliptic operators in divergence form $-\textrm{div} [A(w) \nabla g(w)]$ with the Dirichlet boundary condition in non-Lipschitz domains $\widetildeΩ \subset \mathbb C$. The suggested method is based on connections of planar quasiconformal mappings with Sobolev spaces and its applications to the Poincaré inequalities.

Integral estimates of conformal derivatives and spectral properties of the Neumann-Laplacian

In this paper we study integral estimates of derivatives of conformal mappings $φ:\mathbb D\toΩ$ of the unit disc $\mathbb D\subset\mathbb C$ onto bounded domains $Ω$ that satisfy the Ahlfors condition. These integral estimates lead to estimates of constants in Sobolev-Poincaré inequalities, and by the Rayleigh quotient we obtain spectral estimates of the Neumann-Laplace operator in non-Lipschitz domains (quasidiscs) in terms of the (quasi)conformal geometry of the domains. Specifically, the lower estimates of the first non-trivial eigenvalues of the Neumann-Laplace operator in some fractal type domains (snowflakes) were obtained.

The spectral estimates for the Neumann-Laplace operator in space domains

In this paper we prove discreteness of the spectrum of the Neu\-mann-Lap\-la\-ci\-an (the free membrane problem) in a large class of non-convex space domains. The lower estimates of the first non-trivial eigenvalue are obtained in terms of geometric characteristics of Sobolev mappings. The suggested approach is based on Poincaré-Sobolev inequalities that are obtained with the help of the composition operators theory for uniform Sobolev spaces. These composition operators are induced by a generalizations of conformal mappings that are mappings of bounded $2$-dilatation ($2$-quasiconformal mappings).

Spectral Estimates of the $p$-Laplace Neumann operator and Brennan's Conjecture

In this paper we obtain estimates for the first nontrivial eigenvalue of the $p$-Laplace Neumann operator in bounded simply connected planar domains $Ω\subset\mathbb R^2$. This study is based on a quasiconformal version of the universal weighted Poincaré-Sobolev inequalities obtained in our previous papers for conformal weights. The suggested weights in the present paper are Jacobians of quasiconformal mappings. The main technical tool is the theory of composition operators in relation with the Brennan's Conjecture for (quasi)conformal mappings.

Spectral estimates of the $p$-Laplace Neumann operator in conformal regular domains

In this paper we study spectral estimates of the $p$-Laplace Neumann operator in conformal regular domains $Ω\subset\mathbb R^2$. This study is based on (weighted) Poincaré-Sobolev inequalities. The main technical tool is the composition operators theory in relation with the Brennan's conjecture. We prove that if the Brennan's conjecture holds then for any $p\in (4/3,2)$ and $r\in (1,p/(2-p))$ the weighted $(r,p)$-Poincare-Sobolev inequality holds with the constant depending on the conformal geometry of $Ω$. As a consequence we obtain classical Poincare-Sobolev inequalities and spectral estimates for the first nontrivial eigenvalue of the $p$-Laplace Neumann operator for conformal regular domains.

Reduced $L_{q,p}$-Cohomology of Some Twisted Products

Vanishing results for reduced $L_{p,q}$-cohomology are established in the case of twisted products, which are a~generalization of warped products. Only the case $q \leq p$ is considered. This is an extension of some results by Gol'dshtein, Kuz'minov and Shvedov about the $L_{p}$-cohomology of warped cylinders. One of the main observations is the vanishing of the "middle-dimensional" cohomology for a large class of manifolds. This means that the $L_2$-Betty numbers are zero in the "middle dimension".

Boundary Values of Functions of Dirichlet Spaces $L^1_2$ on Capacitary Boundaries

We prove that any weakly differentiable function with square integrable gradient can be extended to a capacitary boundary of any simply connected plane domain $Ω\ne\mathbb R^2$ except a set of a conformal capacity zero. For locally connected at boundary points domains the capacitary boundary coincides with the Euclidean one. A concept of a capacitary boundary was proposed by V.~Gol'dshtein and S.~K.~Vodop'yanov in 1978 for a study of boundary behavior of quasi-conformal homeomorphisms. We prove in details the main properties of the capacitary boundary. An abstract version of the extension property for more general classes of plane domains is discussed also.

Conformal spectral stability for the Dirichlet-Laplace operator

We study the eigenvalue problem for the Dirichlet Laplacian in bounded simply connected plane domains $Ω\subset\mathbb{C}$ using conformal transformations of the original problem to the weighted eigenvalue problem for the Dirichlet Laplacian in the unit disc $\mathbb{D}$. This allows us to estimate the variation of the eigenvalues of the Dirichlet Laplacian upon domain perturbation via energy type integrals for a large class of "conformal regular" domains which includes all quasidiscs, i.e. images of the unit disc under quasiconformal homeomorphisms of the plane onto itself. Boundaries of such domains can have any Hausdorff dimension between one and two.

Sobolev homeomorphisms and Brennan's conjecture

Let $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ be a domain that supports the $p$-Poincaré inequality. Given a homeomorphism $φ\in L^1_p(Ω)$, for $p>n$ we show the domain $φ(Ω)$ has finite geodesic diameter. This result has a direct application to Brennan's conjecture and quasiconformal homeomorphisms. {\bf The Inverse Brennan's conjecture} states that for any simply connected plane domain $Ω' \subset\mathbb C$ with nonempty boundary and for any conformal homeomorphism $φ$ from the unit disc $\mathbb{D}$ onto $Ω'$ the complex derivative $φ'$ is integrable in the degree $s$, $-2 2$ is not possible for domains $Ω'$ with infinite geodesic diameter.
