On the practical application of negentropic polarization of thermodynamically equilibrium photon gas

In the course of the analysis of the axiomatic principles underlying statistical physics, the assumption about the limited correctness of the postulate of equiprobability of all available microstates of a closed system was tested. Earlier, the result of simulation modeling of the most probable stationary state of a stochastic isolated system, inside which isotropic monochrome radiation spontaneously acquired anisotropic polarization, was obtained (later the presence of such an effect was confirmed by a natural experiment). This article considers an already practically significant variant of suchlike a system. The conditions for the appearance of polarization anisotropy in a thermodynamically equilibrium medium initially filled with isotropic Planck radiation are predicted. Important consistent pattern of the applied mathematical model are noted.

Experimental confirmation of the negentropic character of the diffraction polarization of diffuse radiation

In the course of analyzing the axiomatic principles on which statistical physics is based, the assumption of the limited correctness of the postulate that all allowable microstates of a closed system are equally probable was checked. This article reports the results of a study of a quasi-equivalent system within which isotropic radiation interacts with a phase diffraction grating. A simulated computer model of such interaction showed that anisotropic polarization must arise in the diffracted radiation, which reduces the Boltzmann entropy of the entire system and allows an external observer to obtain information on the grating's surface topology. This prediction was confirmed when it was experimentally checked directly on actual apparatus.

Anisotropic polarization, predicted as a result of the diffraction of blackbody radiation at a reflective phase grating with ideal conductivity

In the course of analyzing the axiomatic principles that form the basis of statistical physics, the validity of the postulate that all the isoenergetic microstates of a closed system are equally probable was checked. This article reports the results of numerically modelling the interaction of thermodynamically equilibrium blackbody radiation with a reflective phase diffraction grating that possesses ideal conductivity. Cases are found in which anisotropy of the polarization parameters is guaranteed to appear inside a closed volume of initially homogeneous blackbody radiation, resulting in a formal decrease of its Boltzmann entropy as a consequence of deviation from the microcanonical Gibbs distribution. This is apparently caused by the discontinuous character of the change of the phase trajectories of the photons during diffraction, which makes the physical system under consideration nonergodic.

Modeling the interaction of an arbitrary light field with a diffraction grating by the Monte Carlo method

A high-accuracy solution of the diffraction problem has become necessary for the treatment of certain special questions of statistical physics. This article reports the creation of a computer program that serves as an instrumental method of calculating the parameters of diffraction phenomena when complex optical systems are being theoretically investigated. The program solves the diffraction problem by a rigorous method based on Maxwell"s equations under specified boundary conditions. An arbitrary for instance, diffuse configuration of the initial light field is allowed. Reflective gratings with a linear or crossed sinusoidal profile of the surface micro relief are considered as the diffraction optical elements. The characteristics of the self-consistent total light field can be calculated when several diffraction elements are present in the system.
