On Some Transformations Associated to a Certain Cone

A model elliptic pseudo-differential equation in $4$-faced cone is studied in Sobolev--Slobodetskii space. The Bochner kernel for such a cone is evaluated and explicit formula for unique solution to the considered equation is presented under certain restrictions on the symbol. Boundary value problem with additional integral condition is considered and unique solvability to the boundary value problem is proved.

On infinite matrices

We consider linear bounded operators acting in Banach spaces with a basis, such operators can be represented by an infinite matrix. We prove that for an invertible operator there exists a sequence of invertible finite-dimensional operators so that the family of norms of their inverses is uniformly bounded. It leads to the fact that solutions of finite-dimensional equations converge to the solution of initial operator equation with infinite-dimensional matrix.

Mapping properties of certain integral operators

We study mapping properties of two-dimensional linear integral operators in some weighted spaces with special kernels. The considered spaces are certain variant of Sobolev--Slobodetskii spaces and their generalizations related to Banach spaces. Sufficient conditions for boundedness for such operators in these spaces are obtained.

On a general discrete boundary value problem

We study a general discrete boundary value problem in Sobolev--Slobodetskii spaces in a plane quadrant and reduce it to a system of integral equations. We show a solvability of the system for a small size of discreteness starting from a solvability of its continuous analogue.

On discrete boundary value problems with nonlocal conditions in a quarter-plane

We consider discrete analogue of model pseudo-differential equations in discrete plane sector using discrete variant of Sobolev--Slobodetskii spaces. Starting from the concept of wave factorization for elliptic periodic symbol we describe solvability conditions for the equations and corresponding discrete boundary value problems. We give also a comparison between discrete and continuous solutions in appropriate discrete normed spaces.

On some solvability theorems for pseudo-differential equations

We study a model elliptic pseudo-differential equation and simplest boundary value problems for a half-space and a special cone in Sobolev--Slobodetskii spaces which have different smoothness with respect to separate variables. Sufficient conditions for a unique solvability for such boundary value problems are described.

A reflective mm-wave photonic limiter

Millimeter wave (mm-wave) communications and radar receivers capable of processing small signals must be protected from high-power signals, which can damage sensitive receiver components. Many of these systems arguably can be protected by using photonic limiting techniques, in addition to electronic limiting circuits in receiver front-ends. Here we demonstrate, experimentally and numerically, a free-space, reflective mm-wave limiter based on a multilayer structure involving a nanolayer of vanadium dioxide (VO2), experiencing a thermal insulator-to-metal transition. The multilayer acts as a variable reflector, controlled by the input power. At low input power levels, VO2 remains dielectric, and the multilayer exhibits resonant transmittance. When the input power exceeds a threshold level, the emerging metallic phase renders the multilayer highly reflective while dissipating a small portion of the input power without damage to the limiter. In the case of a Gaussian beam, the limiter has a nearly constant output above the limiting threshold input.

Operator symbols. II

We consider special classes of linear bounded operators in Banach spaces and suggest certain operator variant of symbolic calculus. It permits to formulate an index theorem and to describe Fredholm properties of elliptic pseudo-differential operator on manifolds with non-smooth boundaries.

Operator symbols

We consider special elliptic operators in functional spaces on manifolds with a boundary which has some singular points. Such an operator can be represented by a sum of operators, and for a Fredholm property of an initial operator one needs a Fredholm property for an each operator from this sum.

The factorization technique for difference equations

We study multidimensional difference equations with a continual variable in the Sobolev--Slobodetskii spaces. Using ideas and methods of the theory of boundary value problems for elliptic pseudo differential equations we suggest to consider certain boundary value problems for such difference equations. Special boundary conditions permit to prove unique solvability for these boundary value problems in appropriate Sobolev--Slobodetskii spaces.

Potentials for elliptic boundary value problems in cones

We consider an elliptic pseudo differential equation in a multi-dimensional cone and starting wave factorization concept we add some boundary conditions. For the simplest cases explicit formulas for solution are given like layer potentials for classical case.
