$t$+$t$ cluster states in $^{6}$He

The study of $t$+$t$ cluster states in $^{6}$He provides valuable insights into exotic nuclear structures and the behavior of fermionic cluster systems. This study shows rich cluster resonant state structures above the threshold, identified by experimental reconstruction and theoretical calculations. The excitation energy spectrum above the $t$+$t$ threshold in $^{6}$He is measured via the fragmentation excitation process during the breakup reaction of $^{9}$Li on a $^{208}$Pb target at an incident energy of 32.7 MeV/nucleon. The resonant states are reconstructed from the final state coincident particles $t$+$t$ using the invariant mass method, while the non-resonant background is estimated using the event mixing method. Two states of energy level peaks at $13.9\pm0.3$ and $15.0\pm0.3$ MeV are observed. Microscopic cluster model calculations exploring the $t+t$ resonant states in $^6\mathrm{He}$ yield theoretical energy spectra which are then compared with the current experimental results. The calculated reduced width amplitudes (RWA) of the $t+t$ channels further confirm the clustering structure of the identified $t+t$ resonant states.

Reduced Basis Method for Few-body Bound State Emulation

Recent advances in both theoretical and computational methods have enabled large-scale, precision calculations of the properties of atomic nuclei. With the growing complexity of modern nuclear theory, however, also comes the need for novel methods to perform systematic studies and quantify the uncertainties of models when confronted with experimental data. This study presents an application of such an approach, the reduced basis method, to substantially lower computational costs by constructing a significantly smaller Hamiltonian subspace informed by previous solutions. Our method shows comparable efficiency and accuracy to other dimensionality reduction techniques on an artificial three-body bound system while providing a richer representation of physical information in its projection and training subspace. This methodological advancement can be applied in other contexts and has the potential to greatly improve our ability to systematically explore theoretical models and thus enhance our understanding of the fundamental properties of nuclear systems.

Direct photon emission and influence of dynamical wave packets in an extended quantum molecular dynamics model

Direct photon produced from first proton-neutron ($p$-$n$) collision during the early stage of heavy ion reaction is a sensitive probe to reflect energy and momentum distribution of nucleons. In this work, we embedded the hard photon production channel in an extended quantum molecular dynamics (EQMD) model, and took the direct photon as a possible probe to improve namely the Fermi motion in the EQMD model. A possible scheme is offered to handle the dynamical wave packet width within incoherent bremsstrahlung process. Direct photons calculated by our modified EQMD were compared with data of $^{14}$N + $^{12}$C at beam energies $E/A$ = 20, 30 and 40 MeV, and it is found that the yield, inverse slope and angular distribution of direct photons could be reasonably reproduced. In addition, asymmetric reaction systems of $^{4}$He + C and $^{4}$He + Zn at $E/A$ = 53 MeV are also simulated in this work. It is found that the symmetric angular distribution in the nucleon-nucleon ($N$-$N$) center-of-mass (c.m.) frame and the velocity of $ the γ$-emission source can be reasonably obtained from our method although there is some quantitative differences.

Collision system size scan of collective flows in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

Initial geometrical distribution and fluctuation can affect the collective expansion in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. This effect may be more evident in small system (such as B + B) than in large one (Pb + Pb). This work presents the collision system dependence of collective flows and discusses about effects on collective flows from initial fluctuations in a framework of a multiphase transport model. The results shed light on system scan on experimental efforts to small system physics.

Collective flows of $α$-clustering $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ + $^{197}\mathrm{Au}$ by using different flow analysis methods

Recently the ratio of triangular flow to the elliptic flow ($v_3/v_2$) of hadrons was proposed as a probe to detect the pattern of $α$-clustering $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ in $^{12}\mathrm{C}$+$^{197}\mathrm{Au}$ collisions at relativistic energy by a participant plane method (Phys. Rev. C 95, 064904 (2017)). In experimental event plane method, Q-cumulant method and two-particle correlation method with rapidity gap always were used for measurement of collective flow only by means of momentum space. By comparing collective flow through the different methods, the ratio of $v_3/v_2$ could be taken as an experimental probe to distinguish different $α$-clustering structure of $^{12}\mathrm{C}$.

Photonuclear reaction as a probe for $α$-clustering nuclei in the quasi-deuteron region

Photon-nuclear reaction in a transport model frame, namely an Extended Quantum Molecular Dynamics (EQMD) model, has been realised at the photon energy of 70-140 MeV in the quasi-deuteron (QD) regime. For an important application, we pay a special focus on photonuclear reactions of $^{12}$C($γ$,np)$^{10}$B where $^{12}$C is considered as different configurations including $α$-clustering. Obvious differences for some observables have been observed among different configurations, which can be attributed to spatial-momentum correlation of a neutron-proton pair inside nucleus, and therefore it gives us a sensitive probe to distinguish the different configurations including $α$ clustering with the help of the photonuclear reaction mechanism.

Giant dipole resonance in proton capture reactions using an extended quantum molecular dynamics model

Proton capture reaction is an important process concerning the astrophysical origin of the elements. In present work, we focus on giant dipole resonance (GDR) in proton capture reactions, such as $^{11}$B$(p, γ)^{12}$C, $^{27}$Al$(p, γ)^{28}$Si, $^{39}$K$(p, γ)^{40}$Ca, and $^{67}$Co$(p, γ)^{68}$Ni in a framework of an extended quantum molecular dynamics model. The systematic properties of GDR parameters including the peak energy, the strength and full width at half maximum (FWHM) have been studied. The dependence of FWHM on temperature has also been discussed. Some comparisons with experimental data have been presented.

Investigation of giant dipole resonance in heavy deformed nuclei with the EQMD model

The deformation evolution of giant dipole resonance (GDR), in the chains of Sm and Nd isotopes, are investigated in the framework of an extended quantum molecular dynamics (EQMD) model. The mass number dependence of resonance peak position $(E_{m})$ in the major and minor axis directions of deformed nuclei as well as the difference $ΔE_{m}$ between them are described in detail. The correlation between the splitting ($ΔE_{m} /\bar{E}_m $) of the GDR spectra and the deformation($ β_{2}$) is further studied. The results confirm that $ΔE_{m} /\bar{E}_m $ is proportional to $ β_{2}$. By comparing the calculation with the experimental data on photon absorption cross section $σ_γ$, it shows that the EQMD model can quite well reproduce the shape of GDR spectra from spherical to prolate shape. The GDR shapes in $^{134}$Sm, $^{136}$Sm, $^{138}$Sm, $^{130}$Nd, $^{132}$Nd and $^{134}$Nd are also predicted. In addition, the symmetry energy coefficient $(E_{sym})$ dependence of GDR spectra of $^{150}$Nd is also discussed. It is found that the calculated GDR spectrum in the EQMD model is perfectly consistent with the experimental results when $E_{sym}$ equals to 32 MeV.

Iso-vector dipole resonance and shear viscosity in low energy heavy-ion collision

The ratio of shear viscosity over entropy density in low energy heavy-ion collision has been calculated by using the Green-Kubo method in the framework of an extended quantum molecular dynamics model. After the system almost reaching a local equilibration for a head-on $^{40}$Ca+$^{100}$Mo collision, thermodynamic and transport properties are extracted. Meanwhile, iso-vector giant dipole resonance (IVGDR) of the collision system is also studied. By the Gaussian fits to the IVGDR photon spectra, the peak energies of IVGDR are extracted at different incident energies. The result shows that the IVGDR peak energy has a positive correlation with the ratio of shear viscosity over entropy density. This is a quantum effect and indicates a difference between nuclear matter and classical fluid.

Nuclear cluster structure effect on elliptic and triangular flows in heavy-ion collisions

The initial geometry effect on collective flows, which are inherited from initial projectile structure, is studied in relativistic heavy-ion collisions of $^{12}$C + Au by using a multi-phase transport model (AMPT). Elliptic flow ($v_2$) and triangular flow ($v_3$) which are significantly resulted from the chain and triangle structure of $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ with three-$α$ clusters, respectively, in central $^{12}\mathrm{C}$+$^{197}\mathrm{Au}$ collisions are compared with the flow from the Woods-Saxon distribution of nucleons in $^{12}\mathrm{C}$. $v_3/v_2$ is proposed as a probe to distinguish the pattern of $α$-clustered $^{12}\mathrm{C}$. This study demonstrates that the initial geometry of the collision zone inherited from nuclear structure can be explored by collective flow at the final stage in heavy-ion collisions.

Dipole oscillation modes in light $α$-clustering nuclei

The $α$ cluster states are discussed in a model frame of extended quantum molecular dynamics. Different alpha cluster structures are studied in details, such as $^8$Be two-$α$ cluster structure, $^{12}$C triangle structure, $^{12}$C chain structure, $^{16}$O chain structure, $^{16}$O kite structure, and $^{16}$O square structure. The properties studied, include as the width of wave packets for different $α$ clusters, momentum distribution, and the binding energy among $α$ clusters. It is also discussed how the $α$ cluster degree of freedom affects nuclear collective vibrations. The cluster configurations in $^{12}$C and $^{16}$O are found to have corresponding characteristic spectra of giant dipole resonance (GDR), and the coherences of different $α$ clusters's dipole oscillation are described in details. The geometrical and dynamical symmetries of $α$-clustering configurations are responsible for the number and centroid energies of peaks of GDR spectra. Therefore, the GDR can be regarded as an effective probe to diagnose different $α$ cluster configurations in light nuclei.

New measurement of the excited states in $^{11}$B via the elastic resonance scattering of $^{10}$Be + p

The elastic resonance scattering protons decayed from $^{11}$B to the ground state of $^{10}$Be were measured using the thick-target technique in inverse kinematics at the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL). The obtained excitation functions were well described by a multichannel R-matrix procedure under the kinematics process assumption of resonant elastic scattering. The excitation energy of the resonant states ranges from 13.0 to 17.0 MeV, and their resonant parameters such as the resonant energy E$_{x}$, the spin-parity J$^π$, and the proton-decay partial width $Γ_p$ were determined from R-matrix fits to the data. Two of these states around E$_{x}$ = 14.55 MeV [J$^π$ = (3/2$^+$, 5/2$^+$), $Γ_p$ = 475 $\pm$ 80 keV] and E$_{x}$ = 14.74 MeV [J$^π$ = 3/2$^-$, $Γ_p$ = 830 $\pm$ 145 keV], and a probably populated state at E$_x$ = 16.18 MeV [J$^π$ =(1/2$^-$, 3/2$^-$), $Γ_p$ $<$ 60 keV], are respectively assigned to the well-known states in $^{11}$B at 14.34 MeV, 15.29 MeV, and 16.43 MeV. The isospin of these three states were previously determined to be T = 3/2, but discrepancies exist in widths and energies due to the current counting statistics and energy resolution. We have compared these states with previous measurements, and the observation of the possibly populated resonance is discussed.

Giant Dipole Resonance as a Fingerprint of $α$ Clustering Configurations in $^{12}$C and $^{16}$O

It is studied how the $α$ cluster degrees of freedom, such as $α$ clustering configurations close to the $α$ decay threshold in $^{12}$C and $^{16}$O, including the linear chain, triangle, square, kite, and tetrahedron, affect nuclear collective vibrations with a microscopic dynamical approach, which can describe properties of nuclear ground states well across the nuclide chart and reproduce the standard giant dipole resonance (GDR) of $^{16}$O quite nicely. It is found that the GDR spectrum is highly fragmented into several apparent peaks due to the $α$ structure. The different $α$ cluster configurations in $^{12}$C and $^{16}$O have corresponding characteristic spectra of GDR. The number and centroid energies of peaks in the GDR spectra can be reasonably explained by the geometrical and dynamical symmetries of $α$ clustering configurations. Therefore, the GDR can be regarded as a very effective probe to diagnose the different $α$ cluster configurations in light nuclei.
