Parity-deformed $sl(2,R)$, $su(2)$ and $so(3)$ Algebras: a Basis for Quantum Optics and Quantum Communications Applications

Having in mind the significance of parity (reflection) in various areas of physics, the single-mode and two-mode Wigner algebras are considered adding to them a reflection operator. The associated deformed $sl(2, R)$ algebra, $sl_ν(2,R)$ and the deformed $so(3)$ algebra, $so_ν(3)$, are constructed for the widely used Jordan-Schwinger and Holstein-Primakoff realizations, commenting on various aspects and ingredients of the formalism for both single-mode and two-mode cases. Finally, due to its potential application in the study of qubit and qutrit systems, the parity-deformed $so_ν(3)$ representation is analyzed based on the isomorphy of $so(3)$ and $su(2)$. Related applications are discussed as well.

Thermodynamical properties of a deformed Schwarzschild black hole via Dunkl generalization

In this paper, we construct a deformed Schwarzschild black hole from the de Sitter gauge theory of gravity within Dunkl generalization and we determine the metric coefficients versus Dunkl parameter and parity operators. Since the spacetime coordinates are not affected by the group transformations, only fields are allowed to change under the action of the symmetry group. A particular ansatz for the gauge fields is chosen and the components of the strength tensor are computed as well. Additionally, we analyze the modifications on the thermodynamic properties to a spherically symmetric black hole due to Dunkl parameters for even and odd parities. Finally, we verify a novel remark highlighted from heat capacity: the appearance of a phase transition when the odd parity is taken into account.

Exact solution of two dimensional Dunkl harmonic oscillator in Non-Commutative phase-space

In this paper, we examine the harmonic oscillator problem in non-commutative phase space (NCPS) by using the Dunkl derivative instead of the habitual one. After defining the Hamilton operator, we use the polar coordinates to derive the binding energy eigenvalue. We find eigenfunctions that correspond to these eigenvalues in terms of the Laguerre functions. We observe that the Dunkl-Harmonic Oscillator (DHO) in the NCPS differs from the ordinary one in the context of providing additional information on the even and odd parities. Therefore, we conclude that working with the Dunkl operator could be more appropriate because of its rich content.

Investigation of the Dunkl-Schrödinger equation for Position Dependent Mass in the presence of a Lie algebraic approach

Recent studies have shown that the use of Dunkl derivatives instead of ordinary derivatives leads to deriving parity-dependent dynamic solutions. According to this motivation in this manuscript, we formulate the Dunkl-Schrödinger equation within the position-dependent mass formalism and derive an algebraic solution out of it. Our systematic approach lets us observe some new findings in addition to the earlier ones. For example, we find that the solution of the Dunkl-Schröodinger equation with position-dependent mass cannot be considered independent of the choice of parameters. Similarly, through the sl(2) algebra, the energy spectrum and the corresponding wave functions are derived in terms of possible Dunkl, ($μ$), and mass, ($α$), parameters.

Thermodynamics of the Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordström black holes under higher-order generalized uncertainty principle

In this manuscript, the modification of thermodynamic properties of Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordström black holes in the presence of higher-order generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) have been investigated. We considered heuristic analysis versus the behavior of a particle that is absorbed by the black hole, and then, we studied the thermodynamic properties of the black holes such as temperature-mass, temperature-charge-mass, entropy, and heat capacity functions up to the first and second-order of the GUP parameter. We compared the behaviors of the GUP-corrected thermodynamic properties for both black holes with graphical methods.

Photon Gas at the Planck Scale within the Doubly Special Relativity

Within the approach to doubly special relativity (DSR) suggested by Magueijo and Smolin, a new algebraically justified rule of so-called $κ$-addition for the energies of identical particles is proposed. This rule permits to introduce the nonlinear $κ$-dependent Hamiltonian for one-mode multi-photon (sub)system. On its base, with different modes treated as independent, the thermodynamics of black-body radiation is explored within DSR, and main thermodynamic quantities are obtained. In their derivation, we use both the analytical tools within mean field approximation (MFA) and numerical evaluations based on exact formulas. The entropy of one-mode subsystem turns out to be finite (bounded). Another unusual result is the existence of threshold temperature above which radiation is present. Specific features of the obtained results are explained and illustrated with a number of plots. Comparison with some works of relevance is given.

A polynomial class of $u(2)$ algebras

A $r$-parameter ${u}_{\{κ_1, κ_2, \cdots, κ_r\}}(2)$ algebra is introduced. Finite unitary representations are investigated. This polynomial algebra reduces via a contraction procedure to the generalized Weyl-Heisenberg algebra ${\cal A}_{\{κ_1, κ_2, \cdots, κ_r\}}$ (M. Daoud and M. Kibler, J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. {\bf 45} (2012) 244036). A pair of nonlinear (quadratic) bosons of type ${\cal A}_κ\equiv {\cal A}_{\{κ_1=κ, κ_2=0, \cdots, κ_r=0\}}$ are used to construct, à la Schwinger, a one parameter family of (cubic) $u_κ(2)$ algebra. The corresponding Hilbert space is constructed. The analytical Bargmann representation is also presented.

Seeing phi meson through the dilepton spectra in heavy-ion collisions

Dilepton spectra from the decay of phi mesons produced in heavy-ion collisions at SIS/GSI energies ($\sim 2$ GeV/nucleon) are studied in the relativistic transport model. We include phi mesons produced from baryon-baryon, pion-baryon, and kaon-antikaon collisions. The cross sections for the first two processes are obtained from an one-boson-exchange model, while that for the last process is taken to be the Breit-Wigner form through the phi meson resonance. For dileptons with invariant mass near the phi meson peak, we also include contributions from neutron-proton bremsstrahlung, pion-pion annihilation, and the decay of rho and omega mesons produced in baryon-baryon and meson-baryon collisions. Effects due to medium modifications of the kaon and vector (rho, omega and phi) meson properties are investigated. We find that the kaon medium effects lead to a broadening of the dilepton spectrum as a result of the increase of phi meson decay width. Furthermore, the dropping of phi meson mass in nuclear medium leads to a shoulder structure in the dilepton spectrum besides the main peak at the bare phi meson mass. The experimental measurement of the dilepton spectra from heavy-ion collisions is expected to provide useful information about the phi meson properties in dense matter.

K^+ production in baryon-baryon and heavy-ion collisions

Kaon production cross sections in nucleon-nucleon, nucleon-delta and delta-delta interactions are studied in a boson exchange model. For the latter two interactions, the exchanged pion can be on-mass shell, only contributions due to a virtual pion are included via the Peierls method by taking into account the finite delta width. With these cross sections and also those for pion-baryon interactions, subthreshold kaon production from heavy ion collisions is studied in the relativistic transport model.

Phi Meson Production in Heavy-Ion Collisions at SIS Energies

Phi meson production in heavy-ion collisions at SIS/GSI energies ($\sim 2$ GeV/nucleon) is studied in the relativistic transport model. We include contributions from baryon-baryon, pion-baryon, and kaon-antikaon collisions. The cross sections for the first two processes are obtained in an one-boson-exchange model, while that for the last process is taken to be of Breit-Wigner form through the phi meson resonance. The dominant contribution to phi meson production in heavy ion collisions at these energies is found to come from secondary pion-nucleon collisions. Effects due to medium modifications of kaon masses are also studied and are found to reduce the phi meson yield by about a factor of two, mainly because of increased phi decay width as a result of dropping kaon-antikaon masses. In this case, the $ϕ/K^-$ ratio is about 4%, which is a factor of 2-3 below preliminary experimental data from the FOPI collaboration at GSI. Including also the reduction of phi meson mass in medium increases this ratio to about 8%, which is then in reasonable agreement with the data.

Phi meson production cross sections in pion-baryon and baryon-baryon interactions

Phi meson production in pion-baryon and baryon-baryon interactions near the production threshold is studied in a boson-exchange model. Parameters in this model are either taken from the Bonn model for the nucleon-nucleon potential or determined from the measured phi meson decay width and the experimental data for the reactions $π^-p\arr ϕn$ and $pp\arr ppϕ$. The isospin-averaged cross sections for the reactions $πN\arr ϕN$, $πΔ\arr ϕN$, $NN\arr NNϕ$, which are needed in transport models to study phi meson production in heavy-ion collisions at subthreshold energies, have been evaluated. For the reactions $NΔ\arr NNϕ$ and $ΔΔ\arr NNϕ$, which become singular when the exchanged pion is on-shell, the Peierls method is used to calculate their cross sections. We find that the cross section for the reaction $πN\arrϕN$ is much larger than the other cross sections.
