The global Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture for Fourier--Jacobi periods on unitary groups III: Proof of the main theorems

This is the third and the last of a series of three papers where we prove the Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture for Fourier--Jacobi periods on unitary groups and an Ichino--Ikeda type refinement. Our strategy is based on the comparison of relative trace formulae formulated by Liu. In this paper, we compute the spectral expansions of these formulae and end the proof of the conjectures via a reduction to the corank zero case.

Periods detecting Eisenstein series and sums of $L$-values I

We study the automorphic period associated to a $G$-Hamiltonian variety $M$ whose dual is $\check{M} = T^*(\check{G}/\check{L})$, where $\check{G}$ is a general linear group and $\check{L}$ is a Levi subgroup. For certain cuspidal Eisenstein series, we prove that their period is equal to a finite sum of special values of $L$-functions. This sum is indexed by the fixed points of the associated extended $L$-parameter on $\check{M}$, confirming a conjecture by Ben-Zvi-Sakellaridis-Venkatesh in this case.

Central values of Asai L-functions and twisted Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture

We study certain new relative trace formulas on (non-reductive) period integrals involving Weil representations, in the context of the relative Langlands program. We study normal representatives using Galois theory, and establish geometric decompositions of relative trace formulas using normal representatives for good test functions. By comparing global representatives, local distributions and orbital integrals, we prove the twisted Gan--Gross--Prasad (GGP) conjecture on Asai L-functions, in any dimension under some local assumptions, allowing ramifications of number fields.

On the relative Langlands duality for $\operatorname{Sp}_{2n} \backslash \operatorname{GL}_{2n+1}$ (with an appendix by Zeyu Wang)

We verify the relative Langlands duality conjecture proposed by Ben-Zvi, Sakellaridis, Venkatesh for the hyperspherical Hamiltonian variety $T^*(\operatorname{Sp}_{2n}\backslash \operatorname{GL}_{2n+1})$. We provide numerical (over number fields and function fields) and geometric (in the \'{e}tale setting) evidence that its dual Hamiltonian variety should be $T^*(\operatorname{GL}_n \times \operatorname{GL}_{n+1} \backslash \operatorname{GL}_{2n+1})$ as is predicted by Ben-Zvi, Sakellaridis, Venkatesh.

On the geometric side of the Jacquet-Rallis relative trace formula

We study some aspects of the geometric side of the Jacquet-Rallis relative trace formula. Globally, we compute each geometric term of the Jacquet-Rallis relative trace formula on the general linear group for regular supported test functions. We prove that it can be described by the regular orbital integral. Locally, we show that the regular orbital integral can be compared with the semisimple orbital integral on the unitary group.

The global Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture for Fourier--Jacobi periods on unitary groups I: Coarse expansions of the relative trace formulae

This is the first of a series of three papers where we prove the Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture for Fourier--Jacobi periods on unitary groups and an Ichino--Ikeda type refinement. Our strategy is based on the comparison of relative trace formulae formulated by Liu. The goal of this first paper is to introduce the relative trace formulae and establish the coarse expansions.
