UBone3D: Physics-Rectified Conditional Flow Matching for Anatomical 3D Shape Completion from Ultrasound

Three-dimensional ultrasound (US) is a safe, radiation-free complementary modality to CT and X-rays for longitudinal monitoring, yet its segmentation-derived partial point clouds are extremely artifact-laden. Consequently, it is challenging to recover a clean and complete anatomical structure from such US point clouds. In this paper, we present UBone3D, a novel framework based on physics-rectified conditional flow matching (CFM) that performs point cloud completion directly from partial US observations. UBone3D models deterministic physics artifacts (e.g., surface thickening, streaking, dropouts) via a simulated physics proxy, and introduces test-time physics rectification to steer the shape completion. At inference, the completion is jointly steered by two decoupled forces: (1) anatomical plausibility enforced by a CT-trained generative shape prior, BoneFM, and (2) physics consistency enforced by USimNet in the ultrasound formation space. Extensive experiments on simulated and in-vivo data demonstrate significant improvements in reconstruction accuracy and anatomical fidelity over existing baselines.

Rolling With Resistance: Preference-Optimized LLM Counselors Can Trade Goal Persistence for Relational Attunement in Motivational Interviewing

In Motivational Interviewing (MI), a client's sustain talk (arguments for the status quo) calls for the counselor to roll with resistance, a move that can fail in two opposite ways: capitulation (abandoning the change agenda to preserve rapport) or confrontation (arguing or directing, overriding the client's autonomy). We introduce a two-axis evaluation of counselor responses, anchored in the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity (MITI) code, Goal Persistence (GP) and Relational Attunement (RA), yielding a four-quadrant framing in which rolling with resistance is high on both, and we ask whether penalizing one failure through preference optimization teaches rolling with resistance or provokes its opposite. From the expert-annotated AnnoMI corpus we build topic-disjoint Direct Preference Optimization data whose preference sets differ only in which failure is rejected, using on-policy negatives. An automatic judge, validated against AnnoMI's expert labels and rechecked by trained human coders, scores blind pairwise win-rates against each base under a firewall in which disjoint model families generate, label, and judge. Across three aligned instruction models spanning the Qwen and Llama families, penalizing confrontation reliably lowers goal persistence below parity, on every base and in every seed run, a robust cost, whereas the attunement gain is base-dependent, present on two of the three bases but absent on the third. Penalizing capitulation is inert, because these models rarely capitulate on-policy, so the trade is gated by each base's failure profile. A prompt-only control raises attunement without the goal-persistence cost, locating the cost in the optimization rather than in attunement itself.

Seduced by the Narrative: Assessing Rule Adherence in Semi-Open Textual Sandboxes

As LLMs are increasingly deployed as autonomous adjudicators in semi-open textual game environments, robust rule adherence becomes critical when user intent conflicts with system rules. However, these models are trained to be helpful and compliant, leaving them vulnerable to a class of attacks we term \textit{Rhetorical Injection}, where adversarial users exploit narrative framing techniques such as pseudo-logical reasoning and authoritative coercion to bypass adjudication logic. We present CoC-Seduce, a multi-agent adversarial benchmark built on Tabletop Role-Playing Game (TRPG) mechanics, an ideal instantiation of semi-open environments where rules are explicit for adjudication, yet interaction remains entirely in natural language. Three frontier models, i.e., GPT-5.4, Claude Sonnet 4.6, Gemini 3.5 Flash, serve as adversarial generators producing 5,376 samples across 4 world settings and 16 skill categories. We then benchmark 20 target adjudicators against this corpus. Evaluation across 20 models reveals that neither model scale nor explicit reasoning mechanisms reliably confer adjudication robustness, with \textsc{Pseudo-Logic} emerging as the dominant attack vector and cross-cultural settings exposing systematic knowledge gaps across all evaluated families. Progressive Pose-Guided 4D Animal Reconstruction from Monocular Video

Reconstructing 4D animals from monocular videos is challenging due to large inter-species variation, complex articulations, and the lack of reliable templates. Existing approaches typically rely on either strict category-specific priors that restrict generalization, or unconstrained generative models that sacrifice input fidelity. To bridge this gap, we present a progressive test-time optimization framework built on 3D Gaussian Splatting for high-fidelity 4D animal reconstruction from a single video. Our key insight is that a coarse shape prior suffices when coupled with a progressive strategy that disentangles articulated pose from non-rigid deformation. Specifically, we employ a symmetry-aware temporal encoding that exploits bilateral cues while absorbing camera estimation drift and a part-conditioned deformation mechanism guided by learnable part anchors and a learnable skinning field. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach generalizes robustly across diverse species, achieving superior geometric accuracy, temporal consistency, and visual fidelity compared to existing baselines, even under severe prior mismatch.
