Interstellar Object 3I/ATLAS Observed from Mars by China's Tianwen-1 Spacecraft

China's Tianwen-1 Mars orbiter successfully imaged the third interstellar object, 3I/ATLAS, during its close encounter with Mars using the onboard HiRIC CMOS camera. This is China's first deep-space observation of an astronomical object. These observations constitute the first imaging of this object from a vantage point significantly out of its orbital plane, providing a unique constraint on dust dynamics. Three observing epochs between 2025 September 30 and October 3 reveal clear changes in coma and tail morphology driven by the rapidly evolving viewing geometry. Comparison with Finson-Probstein dust dynamical models indicates that the coma is dominated by large grains with solar radiation pressure parameter $\beta \approx 10^{-3} $ - $10^{-2}$, corresponding to grain sizes of a few 100s $\mu$m. The extent of the sunward coma implies dust ejection velocities of $3$ - $10$ m s$^{-1}$. Despite the morphological evolution, the azimuthally averaged surface brightness profile remains nearly unchanged through the three epochs, transitioning from a radial slope near -1 close to the nucleus to slightly steeper than -1.5 at larger cometocentric distances, consistent with steady-state dust outflow accelerated by solar radiation pressure. Photometry yields an average $Af\rho \sim (2.0\pm0.2)\times10^4$ cm and a corresponding dust mass loss rate of $\dot{M} \sim 10^3$ kg s$^{-1}$.

Adaptive wavefront correction of dynamic multimode beam based on modal decomposition

We propose and demonstrate a method for the adaptive wavefront correction of dynamic multimode fiber beams for the first time. The wavefront of incident beam is reconstructed in real-time based on the complete modal information, which obtained by using the modal decomposition of correlation filter method. For the proof of principle, both of the modal decomposition and the wavefront correction are implemented using the same computer-generated hologram, which encoded into a phase-only spatial light modulator. We demonstrate the wavefront correction of dynamic multimode beam at a rate of 5Hz and achieve a 1.73-fold improvement on the average power-in-the-bucket. The experimental results indicate the feasibility of the real-time wavefront correction for the large mode area fiber laser by adaptive optics.

The correlations of multi-wave band luminosity and BLR luminosity in Fermi 2LAC blazars

We collect a sample of 78 Fermi detected blazars with broad line region (BLR) data and the quasi-simultaneous multi-wave band data. By analyzing the sample, we find: (1) For whole blazar sample, there exist significant correlations between radio, $γ$-ray luminosity and BLR luminosity. The slope of the best-fit linear regression equation is close to the theoretical value 1. Our results provided another support of jet-disk symbiosis. (2) For FSRQ sample, we find a significant correlation between radio luminosity and optical luminosity, and weaker correlations between X-ray luminosity and radio, optical luminosity. It indicates that the X-ray band radiation mechanism is slightly different from radio and optical bands. The X-ray emission is diluted by inverse Compton scattering (IC). There is a significant correlation between BLR luminosity and $γ$-ray luminosity, but no correlations between X-ray luminosity and BLR, $γ$-ray luminosity, which suggests that the seed soft photons are different for IC process. From these results we suggest that the X-ray band emission is diluted by synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) process, $γ$-ray band emission is produced by external Compton (EC) process.

On estimators of the jet bolometric luminosity of Fermi 2LAC blazars

Bolometric luminosity is a basic physical parameter that is widely used in the study of blazars. Due to the lack of simultaneous full wavelength data, several estimators of the bolometric luminosity are being used in practice. In this paper, we study and evaluate the reliability and significance of six estimators, the $5GHz$ luminosity, the 1keV luminosity, the $γ$-ray luminosity, the $5GHz$ luminosity+the 1keV luminosity, the $5GHz$ luminosity+the $γ$-ray luminosity and the 1keV luminosity+the $γ$-ray luminosity, by analyzing the linear correlations between the integrated bolometric luminosity and them. Our main results are as follows. (i) All the six estimators are reliable in the sense that they are all significant correlated with the bolometric luminosity. (ii) Ranking from the higher significance of the reliability to lower one the six estimators are the the $5GHz$ luminosity+the $γ$-ray luminosity, the 1keV luminosity+the $γ$-ray luminosity, $γ$-ray luminosity, the $5GHz$ luminosity+the 1keV luminosity, the $5GHz$ luminosity and the 1keV luminosity. (iii) We suggest that the bolometric luminosity can be well estimated by the $γ$-ray luminosity using the best linear equation that given in this paper for Fermi FSRQs. (iv) According to the linear regressions obtained in the analysis, we provide calibration for each estimator.
