PO-PDDL: Learning Symbolic POMDPs from Visual Demonstrations for Robot Planning Under Uncertainty

Real-world robot task planning must operate under both stochastic action execution and partial observability, yet constructing Partially Observable Markov Decision Process (POMDP) models for real robotics domains remains difficult and labor-intensive. We introduce PO-PDDL, a symbolic formulation of POMDPs that preserves the relational structure and LLM-friendly syntax of the Planning Domain Definition Language (PDDL), while explicitly modeling partial observability, stochasticity, and beliefs. Building on this formulation, we propose a demonstration-driven pipeline for learning PO-PDDL models. The proposed method reconstructs latent symbolic state trajectories from real-robot execution videos, identifies partial observability via inconsistencies between inferred states and visual observations, and learns stochastic transition and observation models accordingly. The resulting PO-PDDL domains are reusable across tasks and enable online belief-space planning under both perception and execution uncertainty. Experiments on real-world long-horizon manipulation tasks show that our method consistently outperforms existing PDDL and POMDP model-learning approaches, achieving robust task planning under uncertainty with significantly lower planning cost.

Seedance 2.0: Advancing Video Generation for World Complexity

Seedance 2.0 is a new native multi-modal audio-video generation model, officially released in China in early February 2026. Compared with its predecessors, Seedance 1.0 and 1.5 Pro, Seedance 2.0 adopts a unified, highly efficient, and large-scale architecture for multi-modal audio-video joint generation. This allows it to support four input modalities: text, image, audio, and video, by integrating one of the most comprehensive suites of multi-modal content reference and editing capabilities available in the industry to date. It delivers substantial, well-rounded improvements across all key sub-dimensions of video and audio generation. In both expert evaluations and public user tests, the model has demonstrated performance on par with the leading levels in the field. Seedance 2.0 supports direct generation of audio-video content with durations ranging from 4 to 15 seconds, with native output resolutions of 480p and 720p. For multi-modal inputs as reference, its current open platform supports up to 3 video clips, 9 images, and 3 audio clips. In addition, we provide Seedance 2.0 Fast version, an accelerated variant of Seedance 2.0 designed to boost generation speed for low-latency scenarios. Seedance 2.0 has delivered significant improvements to its foundational generation capabilities and multi-modal generation performance, bringing an enhanced creative experience for end users.

I-Perceive: A Foundation Model for Active Perception with Language Instructions

Active perception - the ability of a robot to proactively select viewpoints to acquire task-relevant information - is essential for robust operation in real-world environments. However, existing approaches are typically limited to fixed objectives or constrained settings, and struggle to generalize to open-ended perception intents specified in natural language. We propose I-Perceive, a foundation model for language-conditioned active perception in large-scale indoor environments. Given a query image, a set of context images, and a natural language instruction, I-Perceive predicts a 6D camera pose that fulfills the specified perception intent. The model integrates a vision-language pathway for semantic grounding with a geometric reasoning pathway for multi-view 3D understanding, connected via multi-layer semantic fusion to enable language-conditioned geometric reasoning. To support scalable training, we construct a large-scale dataset of language-viewpoint pairs from both real-world scene-scanning data and simulated environments using an automated pipeline. Extensive experiments demonstrate that I-Perceive significantly outperforms strong baselines on prediction accuracy, viewpoint feasibility, and instructions alignment. The model exhibits strong zero-shot generalization to unseen scenes and instructions, and enables closed-loop active perception, progressively refining viewpoints over sequential interactions.

Mimic Intent, Not Just Trajectories

While imitation learning (IL) has achieved impressive success in dexterous manipulation through generative modeling and pretraining, state-of-the-art approaches like Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models still struggle with adaptation to environmental changes and skill transfer. We argue this stems from mimicking raw trajectories without understanding the underlying intent. To address this, we propose explicitly disentangling behavior intent from execution details in end-2-end IL: Mimic Intent, Not just Trajectories(MINT). We achieve this via multi-scale frequency-space tokenization, which enforces a spectral decomposition of action chunk representation. We learn action tokens with a multi-scale coarse-to-fine structure, and force the coarsest token to capture low-frequency global structure and finer tokens to encode high-frequency details. This yields an abstract Intent token that facilitates planning and transfer, and multi-scale Execution tokens that enable precise adaptation to environmental dynamics. Building on this hierarchy, our policy generates trajectories through next-scale autoregression, performing progressive intent-to-execution reasoning, thus boosting learning efficiency and generalization. Crucially, this disentanglement enables one-shot transfer of skills, by simply injecting the Intent token from a demonstration into the autoregressive generation process. Experiments on several manipulation benchmarks and on a real robot demonstrate state-of-the-art success rates, superior inference efficiency, robust generalization against disturbances, and effective one-shot transfer.

Tru-POMDP: Task Planning Under Uncertainty via Tree of Hypotheses and Open-Ended POMDPs

Task planning under uncertainty is essential for home-service robots operating in the real world. Tasks involve ambiguous human instructions, hidden or unknown object locations, and open-vocabulary object types, leading to significant open-ended uncertainty and a boundlessly large planning space. To address these challenges, we propose Tru-POMDP, a planner that combines structured belief generation using Large Language Models (LLMs) with principled POMDP planning. Tru-POMDP introduces a hierarchical Tree of Hypotheses (TOH), which systematically queries an LLM to construct high-quality particle beliefs over possible world states and human goals. We further formulate an open-ended POMDP model that enables rigorous Bayesian belief tracking and efficient belief-space planning over these LLM-generated hypotheses. Experiments on complex object rearrangement tasks across diverse kitchen environments show that Tru-POMDP significantly outperforms state-of-the-art LLM-based and LLM-tree-search hybrid planners, achieving higher success rates with significantly better plans, stronger robustness to ambiguity and occlusion, and greater planning efficiency.

Zwitterionic Polymer Coatings with Compositional Gradient for Stable and Substrate-Independent Biofouling Deterrence via All-Dry Synthesis

Biofouling represents a critical challenge in marine transportation, healthcare, and food manufacturing, among other industries, as it promotes contamination and increases maintenance costs. Zwitterionic polymers, known for their exceptional antifouling properties, offer a promising solution for biofouling deterrence. Despite the rapid development of zwitterionic polymers in recent years, the design rules, especially concerning the choice of cationic moieties to optimize biofouling deterrence, remain elusive. In this study, we leveraged a versatile all-dry synthesis scheme to achieve a selection of 9 zwitterionic polymers, 5 of which are unprecedented for this synthesis paradigm, thus systematically unraveling that molecular design rule. Notably, we developed a synthesis strategy to enable nanoscale compositional gradient along the coating cross-section, which ensures the robustness of the zwitterionic polymer coatings irrespective of the choice of cation-anion combinations. That robustness is enabled by an organosilicon-based layer at the coating-substrate interface, which simultaneously enhances coating adhesion and chemical stability while ensuring high concentration of zwitterionic moieties at the polymer-liquid interface to maximize biofouling deterrence. The antifouling efficacy was assessed using biofilms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Bacillus subtilis. All coatings demonstrated antifouling efficacy, with a novel zwitterionic polymer comprising a combination of imidazolium and carboxyl groups achieving the greatest antibiofilm effects, which we attributed to the strong hydration. This study highlights the coating architecture, i.e., one with nanoscale gradient and varying crosslinking densities, as a valid strategy to render zwitterionic polymers robust coatings and the imidazolium-based carboxybetaine as a promising next-generation antibiofouling chemistry.

Efficient Discrete Supervised Hashing for Large-scale Cross-modal Retrieval

Supervised cross-modal hashing has gained increasing research interest on large-scale retrieval task owning to its satisfactory performance and efficiency. However, it still has some challenging issues to be further studied: 1) most of them fail to well preserve the semantic correlations in hash codes because of the large heterogenous gap; 2) most of them relax the discrete constraint on hash codes, leading to large quantization error and consequent low performance; 3) most of them suffer from relatively high memory cost and computational complexity during training procedure, which makes them unscalable. In this paper, to address above issues, we propose a supervised cross-modal hashing method based on matrix factorization dubbed Efficient Discrete Supervised Hashing (EDSH). Specifically, collective matrix factorization on heterogenous features and semantic embedding with class labels are seamlessly integrated to learn hash codes. Therefore, the feature based similarities and semantic correlations can be both preserved in hash codes, which makes the learned hash codes more discriminative. Then an efficient discrete optimal algorithm is proposed to handle the scalable issue. Instead of learning hash codes bit-by-bit, hash codes matrix can be obtained directly which is more efficient. Extensive experimental results on three public real-world datasets demonstrate that EDSH produces a superior performance in both accuracy and scalability over some existing cross-modal hashing methods.
