Parity Selection Rule for Information and Dissipation in Driven Steady States

Tight equalities between symmetric information and entropy production in driven steady states remain elusive. We show that they are forbidden by a parity selection rule for rotation-driven linear nonequilibrium steady states. Whenever the relaxation and diffusion matrices commute, the snapshot mutual information between two time slices is exactly even under drive reversal, and parity violation rises linearly in the commutator norm when alignment is broken. Full isotropy strengthens this to drive-independence, and the planar mutual information takes the closed-form value of about 0.145 nats. Under the same alignment, the entropy production is exactly quadratic in the drive, and its prefactor admits an explicit closed form in the traces and determinant of the two matrices. The orthogonality of even and odd sectors leaves only one-sided thermodynamic-uncertainty bounds. The rule rests on the rotational symmetry of the drift alone and survives heavy-tailed isotropic stable noise with tail index below two, where variance-based bounds become vacuous. A falsifiable test is proposed on an electrical Brownian gyrator augmented for independent drive control with circuit-level stable-noise injection.

On Privacy-Preserving Image Transmission in Low-Altitude Networks: A Swin Transformer-Based Framework with Federated Learning

The rapid development of low-altitude economy has driven the proliferation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) applications, including logistics, inspection, and emergency response. However, transmitting high-volume image data from UAVs to ground stations faces significant challenges due to limited bandwidth and stringent privacy requirements. To address these issues, a Semantic Communication (SC) framework based on Federated Learning (FL) is proposed for efficient and privacy-preserving image transmission. A Swin Transformer-based Semantic Communication (STSC) architecture is designed to extract multi-scale semantic features under constrained bandwidth conditions. Dedicated communication and computing nodes are deployed on UAVs to enhance real-time coverage and flexibility. Meanwhile, a FL mechanism enables global model training across distributed devices without sharing raw data, thus preserving user privacy. Simulation experiments conducted on the CIFAR-10 dataset demonstrate that the proposed STSC framework achieves at least 5.7 dB improvement in Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) compared to DeepJSCC baselines, while also showing superior convergence and generalization performance. The framework effectively integrates UAV-assisted deployment with SC and privacy protection, offering a practical solution for bandwidth-constrained image transmission in low-altitude networks.

FRACTAL: SSM with Fractional Recurrent Architecture for Computational Temporal Analysis of Long Sequences

Effective sequence modeling fundamentally requires balancing the retention of unbounded history with the high-resolution detection of abrupt short-term variations common in real-world phenomena. However, existing state space models (SSMs) relying on high-order polynomial projection operators (HiPPO) face a critical trade-off where uniform measures dilute recent information to maintain timescale invariance, while exponential measures sacrifice global context to capture local dynamics. This paper proposes a Fractional Recurrent Architecture for Computational Temporal Analysis of Long sequences (FRACTAL), a novel architecture integrating fractional measure theory into recursive memory updates to address this limitation. By deriving projection operators with analytically characterized spectral properties and a tunable singularity index, the proposed method amplifies sensitivity to recent signal perturbations while preserving the spectral structure that encodes scale-invariant memory dynamics. This theoretical innovation is instantiated within a simplified diagonalized state space framework by modulating input projection initialization to enable simultaneous capture of multi-scale temporal features. FRACTAL achieves an average score of 87.11\% on the Long Range Arena benchmark, including 61.85\% on the ListOps task, outperforming the S5 model.

Multi-AP Cooperative Beamforming for Cell-Free ISAC Networks: Balancing Communication SINR and Sensing SCNR

Cell-free integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems are facing the resource allocation challenges due to the deployment of access points (APs) and conflicting beamforming requirements between the communication and sensing functions. Unlike traditional ISAC architectures, the geographic distribution of APs introduces coordination complexity and resource-sharing conflicts that existing single-objective methods cannot adequately address. To address this challenge, we formulate an optimization problem for multi-AP cooperative beamforming that maximizes the sensing signal-to-clutter-plus-noise ratio (SCNR) under the communication rate constraints. The non-convex quadratically constrained quadratic program is transformed into a tractable convex semidefinite program via semidefinite relaxation, enabling efficient polynomial-time solutions and overcoming the local convergence limitations of traditional alternating optimization approaches. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves superior performance in both communication signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and SCNR compared to existing schemes, confirming its effectiveness for balancing dual-functional objectives.

Beyond Gaussian Assumptions: A General Fractional HJB Control Framework for L\'evy-Driven Heavy-Tailed Channels in 6G

Emerging 6G wireless systems suffer severe performance degradation in challenging environments like high-speed trains traversing dense urban corridors and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) links over mountainous terrain. These scenarios exhibit non-Gaussian, non-stationary channels with heavy-tailed fading and abrupt signal fluctuations. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel wireless channel model based on symmetric $\alpha$-stable L\'evy processes, thereby enabling continuous-time state-space characterization of both long-term and short-term fading. Building on this model, a generalized optimal control framework is developed via a fractional Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation that incorporates the Riesz fractional operator to capture non-local spatial effects and memory-dependent dynamics. The existence and uniqueness of viscosity solutions to the fractional HJB equation are rigorously established, thus ensuring the theoretical validity of the proposed control formulation. Numerical simulations conducted in a multi-cell, multi-user downlink setting demonstrate the effectiveness of the fractional HJB-based strategy in optimizing transmission power under heavy-tailed co-channel and multi-user interference.

Outage Probability Analysis for OTFS with Finite Blocklength

Orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation is widely acknowledged as a prospective waveform for future wireless communication networks. To provide insights for the practical system design, this paper analyzes the outage probability of OTFS modulation with finite blocklength. To begin with, we present the system model and formulate the analysis of outage probability for OTFS with finite blocklength as an equivalent problem of calculating the outage probability with finite blocklength over parallel additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels.Subsequently, we apply the equivalent noise approach to derive a lower bound on the outage probability of OTFS with finite blocklength under both average power allocation and water-filling power allocation strategies, respectively. Finally, the lower bounds of the outage probability are determined using the Monte-Carlo method for the two power allocation strategies. The impact of the number of resolvable paths and coding rates on the outage probability is analyzed, and the simulation results are compared with the theoretical lower bounds.

Emergency Communication: OTFS-Based Semantic Transmission with Diffusion Noise Suppression

Due to their flexibility and dynamic coverage capabilities, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have emerged as vital platforms for emergency communication in disaster-stricken areas. However, the complex channel conditions in high-speed mobile scenarios significantly impact the reliability and efficiency of traditional communication systems. This paper presents an intelligent emergency communication framework that integrates Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) modulation, semantic communication, and a diffusion-based denoising module to address these challenges. OTFS ensures robust communication under dynamic channel conditions due to its superior anti-fading characteristics and adaptability to rapidly changing environments. Semantic communication further enhances transmission efficiency by focusing on key information extraction and reducing data redundancy. Moreover, a diffusion-based channel denoising module is proposed to leverage the gradual noise reduction process and statistical noise modeling, optimizing the accuracy of semantic information recovery. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed solution significantly improves link stability and transmission performance in high-mobility UAV scenarios, achieving at least a 3dB SNR gain over existing methods.

Improved AFSA-Based Beam Training Without CSI for RIS-Assisted ISAC Systems

In this paper, we consider transmit beamforming and reflection patterns design in reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems, where the dual-function base station (DFBS) lacks channel state information (CSI). To address the high overhead of cascaded channel estimation, we propose an improved artificial fish swarm algorithm (AFSA) combined with a feedback-based joint active and passive beam training scheme. In this approach, we consider the interference caused by multipath user echo signals on target detection and propose a beamforming design method that balances both communication and sensing performance. Numerical simulations show that the proposed AFSA outperforms other optimization algorithms, particularly in its robustness against echo interference under different communication signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) constraints.

RIS-Aided Integrated Sensing and Communication Waveform Design With Tunable PAPR

Low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) transmission is an important and favorable requirement prevalent in radar and communication systems, especially in transmission links integrated with high power amplifiers. Meanwhile, motivated by the advantages of reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) in mitigating multi-user interference (MUI) to enhance the communication rate, this paper investigates the design problem of joint waveform and passive beamforming with PAPR constraint for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems, where RIS is deployed for downlink communication. We first construct a trade-off optimization problem for the MUI and beampattern similarity under PAPR constraint. Then, in order to solve this multivariate problem, an iterative optimization algorithm based on alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) and manifold optimization is proposed. Finally, the simulation results show that the designed waveforms can well satisfy the PAPR requirement of the ISAC systems and achieve a trade-off between radar and communication performance. Under high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions, compared to systems without RIS, RIS-aided ISAC systems have a performance improvement of about 50\% in communication rate and at least 1 dB in beampatterning error.

Security Enhancement of Quantum Communication in Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks

This paper investigates a transmission scheme for enhancing quantum communication security, aimed at improving the security of space-air-ground integrated networks (SAGIN). Quantum teleportation achieves the transmission of quantum states through quantum channels. In simple terms, an unknown quantum state at one location can be reconstructed on a particle at another location. By combining classical Turbo coding with quantum Shor error-correcting codes, we propose a practical solution that ensures secure information transmission even in the presence of errors in both classical and quantum channels. To provide absolute security under SAGIN, we add a quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) protocol to the current system. Specifically, by accounting for the practical scenario of eavesdropping in quantum channels, the QSDC protocol utilizes virtual entangled pairs to detect the presence of eavesdroppers. Consequently, the overall scheme guarantees both the reliability and absolute security of communication.

Lossy Cooperative UAV Relaying Networks: Outage Probability Analysis and Location Optimization

In this paper, performance of a lossy cooperative unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) relay communication system is analyzed. In this system, the UAV relay adopts lossy forward (LF) strategy and the receiver has certain distortion requirements for the received information. For the system described above, we first derive the achievable rate distortion region of the system. Then, on the basis of the region analysis, the system outage probability when the channel suffers Nakagami-$m$ fading is analyzed. Finally, we design an optimal relay position identification algorithm based on the Soft Actor-Critic (SAC) algorithm, which determines the optimal UAV position to minimize the outage probability. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can optimize the UAV position and reduce the system outage probability effectively.

SC-CDM: Enhancing Quality of Image Semantic Communication with a Compact Diffusion Model

Semantic Communication (SC) is an emerging technology that has attracted much attention in the sixth-generation (6G) mobile communication systems. However, few literature has fully considered the perceptual quality of the reconstructed image. To solve this problem, we propose a generative SC for wireless image transmission (denoted as SC-CDM). This approach leverages compact diffusion models to improve the fidelity and semantic accuracy of the images reconstructed after transmission, ensuring that the essential content is preserved even in bandwidth-constrained environments. Specifically, we aim to redesign the swin Transformer as a new backbone for efficient semantic feature extraction and compression. Next, the receiver integrates the slim prior and image reconstruction networks. Compared to traditional Diffusion Models (DMs), it leverages DMs' robust distribution mapping capability to generate a compact condition vector, guiding image recovery, thus enhancing the perceptual details of the reconstructed images. Finally, a series of evaluation and ablation studies are conducted to validate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm and further increase the Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) by over 17% on top of CNN-based DeepJSCC.

Resource Allocation Based on Optimal Transport Theory in ISAC-Enabled Multi-UAV Networks

This paper investigates the resource allocation optimization for cooperative communication with non-cooperative localization in integrated sensing and communications (ISAC)-enabled multi-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) cooperative networks. Our goal is to maximize the weighted sum of the system's average sum rate and the localization quality of service (QoS) by jointly optimizing cell association, communication power allocation, and sensing power allocation. Since the formulated problem is a mixed-integer nonconvex problem, we propose the alternating iteration algorithm based on optimal transport theory (AIBOT) to solve the optimization problem more effectively. Simulation results demonstrate that the AIBOT can improve the system sum rate by nearly 12% and reduce the localization Cr'amer-Rao bound (CRB) by almost 29% compared to benchmark algorithms.

Outage Probability Analysis for OTFS in Lossy Communications

This paper analyzes the outage probability of orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation under a lossy communication scenario. First of all, we introduce the channel model and the vector form representation of OTFS this paper uses. Then, we derive an exact expression of the OTFS outage probability in lossy communication scenarios, using Shannon's lossy source-channel separation theorem. Because the channel is time-varying, calculating the exact outage probability is computationally expensive. Therefore, this paper aims to derive a lower bound of the outage probability, which can relatively easily be calculated. Thus, given the distortion requirement and number of the resolvable paths, we can obtain a performance limit under the optimal condition as a reference. Finally, the experimental results of outage probability are obtained by Monte-Carlo method, and compared with the theoretical results calculated by the closed-from expression of the lower bound.

SAFE: Semantic Adaptive Feature Extraction with Rate Control for 6G Wireless Communications

Most current Deep Learning-based Semantic Communication (DeepSC) systems are designed and trained exclusively for particular single-channel conditions, which restricts their adaptability and overall bandwidth utilization. To address this, we propose an innovative Semantic Adaptive Feature Extraction (SAFE) framework, which significantly improves bandwidth efficiency by allowing users to select different sub-semantic combinations based on their channel conditions. This paper also introduces three advanced learning algorithms to optimize the performance of SAFE framework as a whole. Through a series of simulation experiments, we demonstrate that the SAFE framework can effectively and adaptively extract and transmit semantics under different channel bandwidth conditions, of which effectiveness is verified through objective and subjective quality evaluations.

Beamforming in Secure Integrated Sensing and Communication Systems with Antenna Allocation

In this paper, we consider joint antenna allocation and transmit beamforming design in secure integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems. A dual-function base station (DFBS) aims to securely deliver messages to a single-antenna receiver while detecting potential eavesdroppers. To prevent eavesdropping, we incorporate specialized sensing signals, intentionally reducing communication signal power toward suspicious targets to improve sensing. We prioritize minimizing the matching error between the transmitting and required beampatterns for sensing and communication. Our design optimizes antenna allocation and beamforming at the DFBS, meeting minimum secrecy rate and power constraints. We propose solvers based on alternating optimization for the non-convex design problem. Simulations show that the antenna allocation scheme significantly improves safety performance.

IRS-Assisted Lossy Communications Under Correlated Rayleigh Fading: Outage Probability Analysis and Optimization

This paper focuses on an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted lossy communication system with correlated Rayleigh fading. We analyze the correlated channel model and derive the outage probability of the system. Then, we design a deep reinforce learning (DRL) method to optimize the phase shift of IRS, in order to maximize the received signal power. Moreover, this paper presents results of the simulations conducted to evaluate the performance of the DRL-based method. The simulation results indicate that the outage probability of the considered system increases significantly with more correlated channel coefficients. Moreover, the performance gap between DRL and theoretical limit increases with higher transmit power and/or larger distortion requirement.

FSSC: Federated Learning of Transformer Neural Networks for Semantic Image Communication

In this paper, we address the problem of image semantic communication in a multi-user deployment scenario and propose a federated learning (FL) strategy for a Swin Transformer-based semantic communication system (FSSC). Firstly, we demonstrate that the adoption of a Swin Transformer for joint source-channel coding (JSCC) effectively extracts semantic information in the communication system. Next, the FL framework is introduced to collaboratively learn a global model by aggregating local model parameters, rather than directly sharing clients' data. This approach enhances user privacy protection and reduces the workload on the server or mobile edge. Simulation evaluations indicate that our method outperforms the typical JSCC algorithm and traditional separate-based communication algorithms. Particularly after integrating local semantics, the global aggregation model has further increased the Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) by more than 2dB, thoroughly proving the effectiveness of our algorithm.
