Exclusive Dyon Production in High-Energy Collisions

In this work, we investigate the exclusive central production of dyons, a particle carrying electric and magnetic charges, in hadronic interactions at LHC energies, assuming the photon fusion mechanism. Motivated by predictions from theoretical physics beyond the Standard Model, we analyze the photoproduction of these particles in the ultraperipheral collision regime, employing the equivalent photon approximation. We estimate the cross-sections for dyons production in spin 0, 1/2, and 1 scenarios, adopting values for electric and magnetic charges from the literature. Our results demonstrate a direct correlation between spin and cross section, predicting a substantially higher probability for the photoproduction of higher-spin dyons.

Estimating the BFKL effects on the vector meson + jet production in photon - induced interactions at the LHC

The associated vector meson + jet production in photon - induced interactions at the LHC is investigated and predictions for the cross - sections are derived considering the NLO corrections to the BFKL kernel. We explore the possibility that in a near future the FOCAL detector could be used to measure the jet at forward rapidities, with the associated meson being measured by a central or forward detector, and estimate the rapidity distributions for the $ρ$ + jet and $J/Ψ$ + jet photoproduction in $pp$, $Pbp$ and $PbPb$ collisions. We demonstrate that the associated cross-sections are non - negligible and that a future experimental analysis can be useful to constrain the description of the BFKL kernel and improve our understanding of the QCD dynamics.

Production of exotic particles in electron-positron collisions

In this work is presented several results for cross sections of exotic particles production in electron-positron collisions in future linear electron-positron colliders. It is shown that the central production of exotic leptons, dilatons, radions, axions and technipions in this type of collision can be measurable for the predicted kinematic parameters for linear colliders.

A study on linear and non-linear parton evolution equations

In the high energy regime, the proton structure consists of a very large number of particles called partons (quarks and gluons) that interact with each other, according to the theory of strong interactions, Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). Through QCD, the number of partons in the proton is described by equations of parton evolution that depend on kinematic variables. These equations can be linear, the DGLAP equations, and nonlinear, the GLR-MQ equation. We have studied some analytic solutions of the equations of parton evolution. In order to generate the preliminary results, we used an ansatz for the solution of the equations of evolution of the gluon distribution, and compared with results of parametrizations of Parton Distributions Functions (PDFs). Another method proposed in the literature is the solution via Laplace transform that will be applied in the future.

Geometrical scaling description for the exclusive production of vector mesons and deeply virtual Compton scattering

In this work, we investigate the exclusive production of particles in scattering processes in the so-called saturation region. Within this scheme the phenomenon of geometric scaling takes place: cross sections are functions only of a dimensionless combination of the relevant kinematic variables, which happens both in inclusive and diffractive cases, as in the production of vector mesons. In particular, the scaling variable is given in general by $τ= Q^2/Q_s^2$, where $Q^2$ is the photon virtuality and $Q_s$ represents the saturation scale, which drives the energy dependence and the corresponding nuclear effects. Based on the scaling property, we are able to derive a universal expression for the cross sections for the exclusive vector meson production and deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) in both photon-proton and photon-nucleus interactions. This phenomenological result describes all available data from DESY-HERA for $ρ$, $ϕ$ and $J/ψ$ production and DVCS measurements. A discussion is also carried out on the size of nuclear shadowing corrections on photon-nucleus interaction.

Non-perturbative gluons in diffractive photo-production of J/Psi

The modifications induced in the calculation of the cross section of the diffractive process gamma gamma -> J/Psi J/Psi when the gluon propagator is changed are analyzed. Instead of the usual perturbative gluon propagator, alternative forms obtained using non-perturbative methods like Dyson-Schwinger equations are used to consider in a more consistent way the contributions of the infrared region. The result shows a reduction in the differential cross-section for low momentum transfer once compared with the perturbative result, to be confirmed with future experimental results from TESLA.
