Angular-resolved nonlinear optical response as a probe of Lorentz violation in noncentrosymmetric materials

We propose a methodology to detect weak Lorentz-violating (LV) backgrounds through the nonlinear shift photocurrent in noncentrosymmetric crystals. Using a spinful Rice--Mele model, we show that a LV background induces a momentum-odd correction to the Bloch Hamiltonian that reshapes the phase of the interband dipole matrix elements. As a result, the shift conductivity develops a robust $π$-periodic modulation as a function of the angle of a perpendicularly applied static electric field, in contrast to a weakly $2π$-periodic response of the Lorentz-symmetric case. This change in angular periodicity provides a signature of LV effects which can be directly identified through a photocurrent measurement. For realistic optical intensities, the predicted signal lies in the picoampere range, which can be enhanced in a matrix of weakly interacting chains, allowing sensitivity to LV coupling strengths of the order of $ξ\sim10^{-24}\,\mathrm{C\,m}$. These results establish nonlinear optical transport as a viable probe of emergent LV effects in solid-state systems.

Topological Gravity on $(D,N)-$Shift Superspace Formulation

In this contribution, we re-assess the subject of topological gravity by following the Shift Supersymmetry formalism. The gauge-fixing of the theory goes under the Batallin-Vilkovisky (BV) prescription based on a diagram that contains both ghost and anti-ghost superfields, associated to the super-vielbein and the super-Lorentz connection. We extend the formulation of the topological gravity action to an arbitrary number of dimensions of the shift superspace by adopting a formulation based on the gauge-fixing for BF-type models.

Renormalization Theory in the Electrostatic and Vector Potential Calculation

In this work we attempt to show in a clear and simple manner the fundamental ideas of the Renormalization Theory. With that intention we use two well-known problems of the Physic and Engeneering undergraduate students, the calculation of the electrostatic and vector potential of a infinite line charge density and current, respectively. We still employ different regularization methods (cut-off, dimensional and zeta function) and the arising of the scale parameter is consider.

Observables in Topological Yang-Mills Theories With Extended Shift Supersymmetry

We present a complete classification, at the classical level, of the observables of topological Yang-Mills theories with an extended shift supersymmetry of N generators, in any space-time dimension. The observables are defined as the Yang-Mills BRST cohomology classes of shift supersymmetry invariants. These cohomology classes turn out to be solutions of an N-extension of Witten's equivariant cohomology. This work generalizes results known in the case of shift supersymmetry with a single generator.

Recent Results on N=2,4 Supersymmetry with Lorentz Symmetry Violating

In this work, we propose the N=2 and N=4 supersymmetric extensions of the Lorentz-breaking Abelian Chern-Simons term. We formulate the question of the Lorentz violation in 6 and 10 dimensions to obtain the bosonic sectors of $N=2-$ and $N=4-$ supersymmetries, respectively. From this, we carry out an analysis in N=1, D=4 superspace and, in terms of $N=1-$ superfields, we are able to write down the N=2 and N=4 supersymmetric extensions of the Lorentz-violating action term.

Off-Shell Extended Supersymmetries and Lorentz-Violating Abelian Gauge Models

In this work, we propose the N=2 and N=4 supersymmetric extensions realized off-shell of the Abelian gauge model with Chern-Simons Lorentz-breaking term. We start with the theory in 6 and 10 dimensions and reduce à la Scherk the space-like coordinates to carry out the D=5 model in both cases. Then, we reduce the fifth space-like coordinate using the Legendre transformation technique for dimensional reduction. The last reduction method provides us with auxiliary fields that yield the superalgebra closed off-shell. Since the reduced bosonic Lagrangians from $6D$ and $10D$ are the same as the N=2 and N=4 SUSY-versions of the theory, respectively, we use the superspace-superfield formalism in N=1 to achieve the supersymmetric version of model.

The N = 2 and N = 4 Supersymmetric Extensions of the Lorentz- and CPT-Violating Term in Abelian Gauge Theories

In this work, we propose the N=2 and N=4 supersymmetric extensions of the Lorentz-breaking Abelian Chern-Simons term. We formulate the question of the Lorentz violation in 6 and 10 dimensions to obtain the bosonic sectors of N=2, and N=4, supersymmetries, respectively. From this, we carry out an analysis in N=1, D=4 superspace and, in terms of N=1, superfields, we are able to write down the N=2 and N=4 supersymmetric versions of the Lorentz-violating action term.

Study of Bose-Einstein Correlations in e+e- -> W+W- events at LEP

Bose-Einstein correlation between like-sign charged-particle pairs in e+e- -> W+W- events recorded with the OPAL detector at LEP at centre-of-mass energies between 183 GeV and 209 GeV are studied. Recently proposed methods which allow direct searches for correlations in the data via distributions of test variables are used to investigate the presence of correlations between hadrons originating from different W bosons in W+W- -> qqqq events. Within the statistics of the data sample no evidence for inter-WW Bose-Einstein correlations is obtained. The data are also compared with predictions of a recent implementation of Bose-Einstein correlation effects in the Monte Carlo model PYTHIA.

Anti-symmetric rank-2 Matter Field on Superspace for N_{T}=2

In this work, we discuss the interaction between anti-symmetric rank-two tensor matter and topological Yang-Mills fields. The matter field considered here is the rank-2 Avdeev-Chizhov tensor matter field in a suitably extended $N_{T}=2$ SUSY. We start off from the $N_{T}=2$, D=4 superspace formulation and we go over to Riemannian manifolds. The matter field is coupled to the topological Yang-Mills field. We show that both actions are obtained as $Q-$exact forms, which allows us to write the energy-momentum tensor as $Q-$exact observables.

Superspace Gauge Fixing of Topological Yang-Mills Theories

We revisit the construction of topological Yang-Mills theories of the Witten type with arbitrary space-time dimension and number of ``shift supersymmetry'' generators, using a superspace formalism. The super-BF structure of these theories is exploited in orderto determine their actions uniquely, up to the ambiguities due to the fixing of the Yang-Mills and BF gauge invariance. UV finiteness to all orders of perturbation theory is proved in a gauge of the Landau type.
