Secure and reversible face anonymization with diffusion models

Face anonymization aims to protect sensitive identity information by altering faces while preserving visual realism and utility for downstream computer vision tasks. Current methods struggle to simultaneously ensure high image quality, strong security guarantees, and controlled reversibility for authorized identity recovery at a later time. To improve the image quality of generated anonymized faces, recent methods have adopted diffusion models. However, these new diffusion-based anonymization methods do not provide a mechanism to restrict de-anonymization to trusted parties, limiting their real-world applicability. In this paper, we present the first diffusion-based framework for secure, reversible face anonymization via secret-key conditioning. Our method injects the secret key directly into the diffusion process, enabling anonymization and authorized face reconstruction while preventing unauthorized de-anonymization. The use of deterministic forward and reverse diffusion steps guarantees exact identity recovery when the correct secret key is available. Experiments on CelebA-HQ and LFW demonstrate that our approach achieves better anonymization and de-anonymization capabilities than prior work. We also show that our method remains robust to incorrect or adversarial key de-anonymization. Our code will be made publicly available.

A 3d particle visualization system for temperature management

This paper deals with a 3D visualization technique proposed to analyze and manage energy efficiency from a data center. Data are extracted from sensors located in the IBM Green Data Center in Montpellier France. These sensors measure different information such as hygrometry, pressure and temperature. We want to visualize in real-time the large among of data produced by these sensors. A visualization engine has been designed, based on particles system and a client server paradigm. In order to solve performance problems, a Level Of Detail solution has been developed. These methods are based on the earlier work introduced by J. Clark in 1976. In this paper we introduce a particle method used for this work and subsequently we explain different simplification methods we have applied to improve our solution.

Generation and Editing of Mandrill Faces: Application to Sex Editing and Assessment

Generative AI has seen major developments in recent years, enhancing the realism of synthetic images, also known as computer-generated images. In addition, generative AI has also made it possible to modify specific image characteristics through image editing. Previous work has developed methods based on generative adversarial networks (GAN) for generating realistic images, in particular faces, but also to modify specific features. However, this work has never been applied to specific animal species. Moreover, the assessment of the results has been generally done subjectively, rather than quantitatively. In this paper, we propose an approach based on methods for generating images of faces of male or female mandrills, a non-human primate. The main novelty of proposed method is the ability to edit their sex by identifying a sex axis in the latent space of a specific GAN. In addition, we have developed an assessment of the sex levels based on statistical features extracted from real image distributions. The experimental results we obtained from a specific database are not only realistic, but also accurate, meeting a need for future work in behavioral experiments with wild mandrills.

Enhanced blind decoding of Tardos codes with new map-based functions

This paper presents a new decoder for probabilistic binary traitor tracing codes under the marking assumption. It is based on a binary hypothesis testing rule which integrates a collusion channel relaxation so as to obtain numerical and simple accusation functions. This decoder is blind as no estimation of the collusion channel prior to the accusation is required. Experimentations show that using the proposed decoder gives better performance than the well-known symmetric version of the Tardos decoder for common attack channels.
