Gradient Einstein-type warped products: rigidity, existence and nonexistence results via a nonlinear PDE

We establish the necessary and sufficient conditions for constructing gradient Einstein-type warped metrics. One of these conditions leads us to a general Lichnerowicz equation with analytic and geometric coefficients for this class of metrics on the space of warping functions. In this way, we prove gradient estimates for positive solutions of a nonlinear elliptic differential equation on a complete Riemannian manifold with associated Bakry-Émery Ricci tensor bounded from below. As an application, we provide nonexistence and rigidity results for a large class of gradient Einstein-type warped metrics. Furthermore, we show how to construct gradient Einstein-type warped metrics, and then we give explicit examples which are not only meaningful in their own right, but also help to justify our results.

Classification of gradient Yamabe soliton hypersurfaces of space forms

In this paper we investigate gradient Yamabe solitons, either steady or shrinking, that can be isometrically immersed into space forms as hypersurfaces that admit an upper bound on the norm of their second fundamental form. Those solitons satisfying an additional condition, that could be constant mean curvature or the number of critical points of the potential function being at most one, are fully classified. Our argument is based on the weak Omori-Yau principle for the drifted Laplacian on Riemannian manifolds.

Rigidity results for quotient almost Yamabe solitons

In this paper we investigate the structure of certain solutions of the fully nonlinear Yamabe flow, which we call quotient almost Yamabe solitons because they extend quite naturally those called quotient Yamabe solitons. We then present sufficient conditions for a compact quotient almost Yamabe soliton to be either trivial or isometric with an Euclidean sphere. We also characterize noncompact quotient gradient almost Yamabe solitons satisfying certain conditions on both its Ricci tensor and potential function.

Gradient Estimates on Warped Product Gradient Almost Ricci Solitons

In this paper, by slightly modifying Li-Yau's technique so that we can handle drifting Laplacians, we were able to find three different gradient estimates for the warping function, one for each sign of the Einstein constant of the fiber manifold. As an application, we exhibit a nonexistence theorem for gradient almost Ricci solitons possessing certain metric properties on the base of the warped product.

Properties of Complete Noncompact Warped Product Gradient Yamabe Solitons

In this paper, we look for properties of gradient Yamabe solitons on top of warped product manifolds. Utilizing the maximum principle, we find lower bound estimates for both the potential function of the soliton and the scalar curvature of the warped product. By slightly modifying Li-Yau's technique so that we can handle drifting Laplacians, we were able to find three different gradient estimates for the warping function, one for each sign of the scalar curvature of the fiber manifold. As an application, we exhibit a nonexistence theorem for gradient Yamabe solitons possessing certain metric properties on the base of the warped product.

On Warped Product Gradient Yamabe Solitons

The purpose of this article is to study gradient Yamabe soliton on warped product manifolds. First, we prove triviality results in the case of noncompact base with limited warping function, and for compact base. In order to provide nontrivial examples, we consider the base conformal to a semi-Euclidean space, which is invariant under the action of a translation group, and then we characterize steady solitons. We use this method to give infinitely many explicit examples of complete steady gradient Yamabe solitons.

The Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg Inequalities on Metric Measure Spaces

In this paper, we prove that if a metric measure space satisfies the volume doubling condition and the Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg inequality with same exponent n(n>1), then it has exactly n-dimensional volume growth. As application, we obtain geometric and topological properties of Alexandrov space, Riemannian manifold and Finsler space which support a Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg inequality.
