Strong decays of newly observed $D_{sJ}$ states in a constituent quark model with effective Lagrangians

The strong decay properties of the newly observed states $D_{sJ}(3040)$, $D_{sJ}(2860)$ and $D_{sJ}(2710)$ are studied in a constituent quark model with quark-meson effective Lagrangians. We find that the $D_{sJ}(3040)$ could be identified as the low mass physical state $|2{P_1}>_L$ ($J^P=1^+$) from the $D_{s}(2^1P_1)$-$D_{s}(2^3P_1)$ mixing. The $D_{sJ}(2710)$ is likely to be the low-mass mixed state $|(SD)>_L$ via the $1^3D_1$-$2^3S_1$ mixing. In our model, the $D_{sJ}(2860)$ cannot be assigned to any single state with a narrow width and compatible partial widths to $DK$ and $D^*K$. Thus, we investigate a two-state scenario as proposed in the literature. In our model, one resonance is likely to be the $1^3D_3$ ($J^P=3^-$), which mainly decays into $DK$. The other resonance seems to be the $|1{D_2}'>_H$, i.e. the high-mass state in the $1^1D_2$-$1^3D_2$ mixing with $J^P=2^-$, of which the $D^*K$ channel is its key decay mode. We also discuss implications arising from these assignments and give predictions for their partner states such as $|(SD)'>_H$, $|2{P'_1}>_H$, $2^3P_0$ and $2^3P_2$, which could be helpful for the search for these new states in future experiment.

The $K^-p\to Σ^0π^0$ reaction at low energies in a chiral quark model

A chiral quark-model approach is extended to the study of the $\bar{K}N$ scattering at low energies. The process of $K^-p\to Σ^0π^0$ at $P_K\lesssim 800$ MeV/c (i.e. the center mass energy $W\lesssim 1.7$ GeV) is investigated. This approach is successful in describing the differential cross sections and total cross section with the roles of the low-lying $Λ$ resonances in $n=1$ shells clarified. The $Λ(1405)S_{01}$ dominates the reactions over the energy region considered here. Around $P_K\simeq 400$ MeV/c, the $Λ(1520)D_{03}$ is responsible for a strong resonant peak in the cross section. The $Λ(1670)S_{01}$ has obvious contributions around $P_K=750$ MeV/c, while the contribution of $Λ(1690)D_{03}$ is less important in this energy region. The non-resonant background contributions, i.e. $u$-channel and $t$-channel, also play important roles in the explanation of the angular distributions due to amplitude interferences.

Charmed baryon strong decays in a chiral quark model

Charmed baryon strong decays are studied in a chiral quark model. The data for the decays of $Λ^+_c(2593)$, $Λ^+_c(2625)$, $Σ^{++,+,0}_c$ and $Σ^{+,0}_c(2520)$, are accounted for successfully, which allows to fix the pseudoscalar-meson-quark couplings in an effective chiral Lagrangian. Extending this framework to analyze the strong decays of the newly observed charmed baryons, we classify that both $Λ_c(2880)$ and $Λ_c(2940)$ are $D$-wave states in the N=2 shell; $Λ_c(2880)$ could be $|Λ_c ^2 D_{λλ}{3/2}^+>$ and $Λ_c(2940)$ could be $|Λ_c ^2 D_{λλ}{5/2}^+>$. Our calculation also suggests that $Λ_c(2765)$ is very likely a $ρ$-mode $P$-wave excited state in the N=1 shell, and favors a $|Λ_c ^4P_ρ1/2^->$ configuration. The $Σ_c(2800)$ favors being a $|Σ_c ^2P_λ{1/2}^->$ state. But its being $|Σ^{++}_c ^4 P_λ{5/2}^->$ cannot be ruled out.

Study of π^{-}p \to ηn at low energies in a chiral constituent quark model

A chiral quark model approach is extended to the study of the $πN$ scattering at low energies. The process of $π^{-}p \to ηn$ near threshold is investigated. The model is successful in describing the differential cross sections and total cross section near the $η$ production threshold. The roles of the resonances in $n\leq 2$ shells are clarified. Near threshold, the $S_{11}(1535)$ dominates the reactions, while the interferences from the $S_{11}(1650)$ turn out to be destructive around $W\lesssim 1.6$ GeV. The $D_{13}(1520)$ is crucial to give correct shapes of the differential cross sections. The nucleon pole term contributions are significant. The $P_{11}(1710)$ plays an important role around the c.m. energy $W=1.7$ GeV, it is crucial to produce an enhancement in the region of $W>1.6$ GeV as suggested by the data for total cross section. The $t$-channel is negligible in the reactions.

In-medium Properties of $Θ^{+}$ as a K$π$N structure in Relativistic Mean Field Theory

The properties of nuclear matter are discussed with the relativistic mean-field theory (RMF).Then, we use two models in studying the in-medium properties of $Θ^+$: one is the point-like $Θ^*$ in the usual RMF and the other is a K$π$N structure for the pentaquark. It is found that the in-medium properties of $Θ^+$ are dramatically modified by its internal structure. The effective mass of $Θ^+$ in medium is, at normal nuclear density, about 1030 MeV in the point-like model, while it is about 1120 MeV in the model of K$π$N pentaquark. The nuclear potential depth of $Θ^+$ in the K$π$N model is approximately -37.5 MeV, much shallower than -90 MeV in the usual point-like RMF model.

The effect of different baryons impurities

We demonstrate the different effect of different baryons impurities on the static properties of nuclei within the framework of the relativistic mean-field model. Systematic calculations show that $Λ_c^+$ and $Λ_b$ has the same attracting role as $Λ$ hyperon does in lighter hypernuclei. $Ξ^-$ and $Ξ_c^0$ hyperon has the attracting role only for the protons distribution, and has a repulsive role for the neutrons distribution. On the contrary, $Ξ^0$ and $Ξ^+_c$ hyperon attracts surrounding neutrons and reveals a repulsive force to the protons. We find that the different effect of different baryons impurities on the nuclear core is due to the different third component of their isospin.
