ZeroPur: Succinct Training-Free Adversarial Purification

Adversarial purification is a kind of defense technique that can defend against various unseen adversarial attacks without modifying the victim classifier. Existing methods often depend on external generative models or cooperation between auxiliary functions and victim classifiers. However, retraining generative models, auxiliary functions, or victim classifiers relies on the domain of the fine-tuned dataset and is computation-consuming. In this work, we suppose that adversarial images are outliers of the natural image manifold, and the purification process can be considered as returning them to this manifold. Following this assumption, we present a simple adversarial purification method without further training to purify adversarial images, called ZeroPur. ZeroPur contains two steps: given an adversarial example, Guided Shift obtains the shifted embedding of the adversarial example by the guidance of its blurred counterparts; after that, Adaptive Projection constructs a directional vector by this shifted embedding to provide momentum, projecting adversarial images onto the manifold adaptively. ZeroPur is independent of external models and requires no retraining of victim classifiers or auxiliary functions, relying solely on victim classifiers themselves to achieve purification. Extensive experiments on three datasets (CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, and ImageNet-1K) using various classifier architectures (ResNet, WideResNet) demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art robust performance. SafeStats: Efficient 2PC Protocols for Data Statistic-Related Functions

Statistical analysis on sensitive datasets like medical records and financial transactions is essential for decision-making, but raises significant privacy concerns. While existing secure Two-Party Computation (2PC) makes extensive efforts in designing the common secure primitives (e.g., addition and multiplication) or machine learning-related functions, few pay attention to the statistical functions. In this paper, we propose SafeStats, a secure toolkit tailored for 2PC secure statistical analysis. Specifically, to develop SafeStats, we first refer to Microsoft Excel's statistical library and summarize that most statistical operations can be achieved with three core functions:1) frequency counting, 2) sorting, and 3) non-linear math functions. Then, for each core statistical function, SafeStats presents an efficient 2PC implementation. For secure frequency counting, SafeStats adopts a secure shift-based strategy to avoid invoking expensive 2PC equality test protocols. For secure sort, SafeStats involves a secure segment-indicator protocol to achieve secure counting-based sort, which enables fast element sorting over specific statistical scenarios without the need for secure comparison. For non-linear math functions, we enhance the current reduce-then-approximate paradigm by introducing a bisection-based range reduction protocol. Finally, we implement SafeStats and test it on 14 common statistical analysis cases. As an example, for the chi-square test, SafeStats achieves a 1.5 $\times$ runtime speedup and a 4.2 $\times$ reduction in communication compared to directly using the current general-purpose 2PC library to realize it.

TLFW: A Three-layer Framework in Wireless Rechargeable Sensor Network with a Mobile Base Station

Wireless sensor networks as the base support for the Internet of things has been a large number of popularity and application. Such as intelligent agriculture, we have to use the sensor network to obtain the growth environmental data of crops, etc.. However, the difficulty of power supply of wireless nodes has seriously hindered the application and development of Internet of things. In order to solve this problem, people use low-power, sleep scheduling and other energy-saving methods on the nodes. Although these methods can prolong the working time of nodes, they will eventually become invalid because of the exhaustion of energy. The use of solar energy, wind energy, and wireless signals in the environment to obtain energy is another way to solve the energy problem of nodes. However, these methods are affected by weather, environment and other factors, and are unstable. Thus, the discontinuity work of the node is caused. In recent years, the development of wireless power transfer (WPT) has brought another solution to this problem. In this paper, a three-layer framework is proposed for mobile station data collection in rechargeable wireless sensor networks to keep the node running forever, named TLFW which includes the sensor layer, cluster head layer, and mobile station layer. And the framework can minimize the total energy consumption of the system. The simulation results show that the scheme can reduce the energy consumption of the entire system, compared with a Mobile Station in a Rechargeable Sensor Network(MSiRSN).
