Lyapunov exponents, phase transition and chaos bound in Kerr-Newman AdS spacetime

In this paper, we investigate Lyapunov exponents associated with chaotic motions of both massless and massive particles in the vicinity of a Kerr-Newman AdS black hole. Our exploration focuses on their correlations with the black hole phase transition and the chaos bound. The results demonstrate that these exponents serve as effective probes of the phase transition, with the chaotic Lyapunov exponent of the massless particle offering a more precise characterization. Further calculations indicate that critical exponents linked to these Lyapunov exponents are uniformly 1/2. Notably, the violation of the chaos bound occurs irrespective of whether a phase transition is taking place. Through comparative analysis, we identify a critical radius, and the violation consistently arises when the black hole's radius is less than this critical radius. Moreover, this violation is observed in the spacetime of the stable small black hole during the phase transition.

Thermodynamics and weak cosmic censorship conjecture in Reissner-Nordstr$\ddot{o}$m anti-de Sitter black holes with scalar field

The thermodynamics and weak cosmic censorship conjecture in Reissner-Nordstr$\ddot{o}$m anti-de Sitter black holes are investigated by the scattering of the scalar field. The first law of thermodynamics in the non-extremal Reissner-Nordstr$\ddot{o}$m anti-de Sitter black hole is recovered by the scattering. The increase of the horizon radius indicates that the singularity is not naked in this black hole. For the near-extremal and extremal black holes, the validity is tested by the minimum values of the function $f$ at their final states. It is found that both of the near-extremal and extremal black holes can not be overcharged. When $ω=qϕ$, the final state of the extremal black hole is still an extremal black hole. When $ω\neq qϕ$, it becomes a near-extremal black hole with new mass and charge.

AdS Black Hole with Phantom Scalar Field

In this paper, we present an AdS black hole solution with Ricci flat horizon in Einstein-phantom scalar theory. The phantom scalar fields just depend on the transverse coordinates $x$ and $y$, and which are parameterized by the parameter $α$. We study the thermodynamics of the AdS phantom black hole. Although its horizon is a Ricci flat Euclidean space, we find that the thermodynamical properties of the black hole solution are qualitatively same as those of AdS Schwarzschild black hole. Namely there exists a minimal temperature, the large black hole is thermodynamically stable , while the smaller one is unstable, so there is a so-called Hawking-Page phase transition between the large black hole and the thermal gas solution in the AdS spacetime in Poincare coordinates. We also calculate the entanglement entropy for a strip geometry dual to the AdS phantom black holes and find that the behavior of the entanglement entropy is qualitatively the same as that of the black hole thermodynamical entropy.

Modifying horizon thermodynamics by surface tensions

The modified first laws of thermodynamics at the black hole horizon and the cosmological horizon of the Schwarzschild de Sitter black hole and the apparent horizon of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker cosmology are derived by the surface tensions, respectively. The corresponding Smarr relations are obeyed. For the black hole, the cosmological constant is first treated as a fixed constant, and then as a variable associated to the pressure. The law at the apparent horizon takes the same form as that at the cosmological horizon, but is different from that at the black hole horizon. The positive temperatures guarantee the appearance of the worked terms in the modified laws at the cosmological and apparent horizons. While they can disappear at the black hole horizon.
