Hierarchical Codebook Design and Low-Overhead Beam Training for Near-Field Communications With Uniform Circular Arrays

Extremely large-scale multiple-input multiple-output (XL-MIMO) enables near-field location-specific beam focusing for sixth-generation (6G) communications. Uniform circular arrays (UCAs), with rotational symmetry and uniform azimuth coverage, have emerged as a key enabling architecture for near-field XL-MIMO systems. In this paper, we propose a resolution-aware hierarchical codebook for near-field UCA systems, along with an efficient two-stage beam training scheme to significantly reduce the training overhead. Specifically, we characterize the minimum resolvable distance of UCA systems in the near-field region based on a geometric spherical-wave propagation model, revealing their spatial resolution capability in the joint angle--distance domain. Guided by this result, we design a UCA-specific hierarchical codebook, where a power-efficient distance-robust beamforming (DRBF) codebook provides coarse azimuth localization and a full-precision (FP) codebook sampled according to the minimum resolvable distance enables refined angle--distance beam search. The regularized modal compensation suppresses weak-mode amplification and provides a controllable tradeoff between absolute amplitude gain under unit-norm transmission and distance robustness. Based on this codebook, we develop a hierarchical decoupled-architecture Bayesian regression (HDA-BAR) scheme for fast and accurate near-field beam training. For the considered array configuration, the resulting HDA-BAR training procedure requires $384$ probing slots, corresponding to an approximately \(99.66\%\) overhead reduction relative to the conventional near-field exhaustive-search benchmark.

Agentic Satellite-Augmented Low-Altitude Economy and Terrestrial Networks: A Survey on Generative Approaches

The development of satellite-augmented low-altitude economy and terrestrial networks (SLAETNs) demands intelligent and autonomous systems that can operate reliably across heterogeneous, dynamic, and mission-critical environments. To address these challenges, this survey focuses on enabling agentic artificial intelligence (AI), that is, artificial agents capable of perceiving, reasoning, and acting, through generative AI (GAI) and large language models (LLMs). We begin by introducing the architecture and characteristics of SLAETNs, and analyzing the challenges that arise in integrating satellite, aerial, and terrestrial components. Then, we present a model-driven foundation by systematically reviewing five major categories of generative models: variational autoencoders (VAEs), generative adversarial networks (GANs), generative diffusion models (GDMs), transformer-based models (TBMs), and LLMs. Moreover, we provide a comparative analysis to highlight their generative mechanisms, capabilities, and deployment trade-offs within SLAETNs. Building on this foundation, we examine how these models empower agentic functions across three domains: communication enhancement, security and privacy protection, and intelligent satellite tasks. Finally, we outline key future directions for building scalable, adaptive, and trustworthy generative agents in SLAETNs. This survey aims to provide a unified understanding and actionable reference for advancing agentic AI in next-generation integrated networks.

Generative Diffusion-based Contract Design for Efficient AI Twins Migration in Vehicular Embodied AI Networks

Embodied AI is a rapidly advancing field that bridges the gap between cyberspace and physical space, enabling a wide range of applications. This evolution has led to the development of the Vehicular Embodied AI NETwork (VEANET), where advanced AI capabilities are integrated into vehicular systems to enhance autonomous operations and decision-making. Embodied agents, such as Autonomous Vehicles (AVs), are autonomous entities that can perceive their environment and take actions to achieve specific goals, actively interacting with the physical world. Embodied twins are digital models of these embodied agents, with various embodied AI twins for intelligent applications in cyberspace. In VEANET, embodied AI twins act as in-vehicle AI assistants to perform diverse tasks supporting autonomous driving using generative AI models. Due to limited computational resources of AVs, these AVs often offload computationally intensive tasks, such as constructing and updating embodied AI twins, to nearby RSUs. However, since the rapid mobility of AVs and the limited provision coverage of a single RSU, embodied AI twins require dynamic migrations from current RSU to other RSUs in real-time, resulting in the challenge of selecting suitable RSUs for efficient embodied AI twins migrations. Given information asymmetry, AVs cannot know the detailed information of RSUs. To this end, in this paper, we construct a multi-dimensional contract theoretical model between AVs and alternative RSUs. Considering that AVs may exhibit irrational behavior, we utilize prospect theory instead of expected utility theory to model the actual utilities of AVs. Finally, we employ a generative diffusion model-based algorithm to identify the optimal contract designs. Compared with traditional deep reinforcement learning algorithms, numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

6D Movable Antenna Enhanced Interference Mitigation for Cellular-Connected UAV Communications

Cellular-connected unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications is an enabling technology to transmit control signaling or payload data for UAVs through cellular networks. Due to the line-of-sight (LoS) dominant air-to-ground channels, efficient interference mitigation is crucial to UAV communications, while the conventional fixed-position antenna (FPA) arrays have limited degrees of freedom (DoFs) to suppress the interference between the UAV and its non-associated co-channel base stations (BSs). To address this challenge, we propose in this letter a new approach by utilizing the six-dimensional movable antenna (6DMA) arrays to enhance the interference mitigation for the UAV. Specifically, we propose an efficient block coordinate descent (BCD) algorithm to iteratively optimize the antenna position vector (APV), array rotation vector (ARV), receive beamforming vector, and associated BS of the UAV to maximize its signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR). Numerical results show that the proposed 6DMA enhanced cellular-connected UAV communication can significantly outperform that with the traditional FPA arrays and other benchmark schemes in terms of interference mitigation.

Few-Shot Recognition and Classification Framework for Jamming Signal: A CGAN-Based Fusion CNN Approach

Subject to intricate environmental variables, the precise classification of jamming signals holds paramount significance in the effective implementation of anti-jamming strategies within communication systems. In light of this imperative, we propose an innovative fusion algorithm based on conditional generative adversarial network (CGAN) and convolutional neural network (CNN), which aims to deal with the difficulty in applying deep learning (DL) algorithms due to the instantaneous nature of jamming signals in practical communication systems. Compared with previous methods, our algorithm embeds jamming category labels to constrain the range of generated signals in the frequency domain by using the CGAN model, which simultaneously captures potential label information while learning the distribution of signal data thus achieves an 8% improvement in accuracy even when working with a few-sample dataset. Real-world satellite communication scenarios are simulated by adopting hardware platform, and we validate our algorithm by using the resulting time-domain waveform data. The experimental results indicate that our algorithm still performs extremely well, which demonstrates significant potential for practical application in real-world communication scenarios.
