On the Ohsawa-Takegoshi $L^2$ extension theorem and removable singularities of plurisubharmonic functions

The celebrated Ohsawa--Takegoshi extension theorem for $L^2$ holomorphic functions on bounded pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb C^n$ is a fundamental result in several complex variables and complex geometry. Ohsawa conjectured in 1995 that the same theorem still holds for more general bounded complete K\"ahler domains in $\mathbb C^n$. Recently, Chen--Wu--Wang confirmed this conjecture in a special case. In this paper we extend their result to the case of holomorphic sections of twisted canonical bundles over relatively compact complete K\"{a}hler domains in Stein manifolds. As an application we prove a Hartogs type extension theorem for plurisubharmonic functions across a compact complete pluripolar set, which is complementary to a classical result of Shiffman and can be seen as an analogue of the Skoda--El Mir extension theorem for plurisubharmonic functions -- a result that has been vacant since at least 1985.

Bott-Chern cohomology and the Hartogs extension theorem for pluriharmonic functions

Let $X$ be a cohomologically $(n-1)$-complete complex manifold of dimension $n\geq 2$. We prove a vanishing result for the Bott-Chern cohomology group of type $(1, 1)$ with compact support in $X$, which combined with the well-known technique of Ehrenpreis implies a Hartogs type extension theorem for pluriharmonic functions on $X$.

Complex geodesics and complex Monge--Amp\`{e}re equations with boundary singularity II

We study the parameter dependence of complex geodesics with prescribed boundary value and direction on bounded strongly linearly convex domains. As an important application we establish a quantitative relationship between the regularity of the pluricomplex Poisson kernel of such a domain, which is a solution to a homogeneous complex Monge--Amp\`{e}re equation with boundary singularity, and the regularity of the boundary of the domain. Our results greatly improve the previous results of Chang--Hu--Lee and Bracci--Patrizio in this direction.

Complex geodesics and complex Monge-Ampère equations with boundary singularity

We study complex geodesics and complex Monge-Ampère equations on bounded strongly linearly convex domains in $\mathbb C^n$. More specifically, we prove the uniqueness of complex geodesics with prescribed boundary value and direction in such a domain, when its boundary is of minimal regularity. The existence of such complex geodesics was proved by the first author in the early 1990s, but the uniqueness was left open. Based on the existence and the uniqueness proved here, as well as other previously obtained results, we solve a homogeneous complex Monge-Ampère equation with prescribed boundary singularity, which was first considered by Bracci et al. on smoothly bounded strongly convex domains in $\mathbb C^n$.

Boundary Julia theory for slice regular functions

The theory of slice regular functions is nowadays widely studied and has found its elegant applications to a functional calculus for quaternionic linear operators and Schur analysis. However, much less is known about their boundary behaviors. In this paper, we initiate the study of the boundary Julia theory for quaternions. More precisely, we establish the quaternionic versions of the Julia lemma, the Julia-Carathéodory theorem, the boundary Schwarz lemma, the Hopf lemma, and the Burns-Krantz rigidity theorem for slice regular self-mappings of the open unit ball $\mathbb B\subset \mathbb H$ and of the right half-space $\mathbb H_+$. Especially, we find a new phenomenon that the classical Hopf lemma about $f'(ξ)>1$ at the boundary point may fail in general in quaternions, and its quaternionic variant should involve the Lie bracket reflecting the non-commutative feature of quaternions.

The Growth and Distortion Theorems for Slice Monogenic Functions

The sharp growth and distortion theorems are established for slice monogenic extensions of univalent functions on the unit disc $\mathbb D\subset \mathbb C$ in the setting of Clifford algebras, based on a new convex combination identity. The analogous results are also valid in the quaternionic setting for slice regular functions and we can even prove the Koebe type one-quarter theorem in this case. Our growth and distortion theorems for slice regular (slice monogenic) extensions to higher dimensions of univalent holomorphic functions hold without extra geometric assumptions, in contrast to the setting of several complex variables in which the growth and distortion theorems fail in general and hold only for some subclasses with the starlike or convex assumption.

On geometric aspects of quaternionic and octonionic slice regular functions

The purpose of this paper is twofold. One is to enrich from a geometrical point of view the theory of octonionic slice regular functions. We first prove a boundary Schwarz lemma for slice regular self-mappings of the open unit ball of the octonionic space. As applications, we obtain two Landau-Toeplitz type theorems for slice regular functions with respect to regular diameter and slice diameter respectively, together with a Cauchy type estimate. Along with these results, we introduce some new and useful ideas, which also allow to prove the minimum principle and one version of the open mapping theorem. Another is to strengthen a version of boundary Schwarz lemma first proved in \cite{WR} for quaternionic slice regular functions, with a completely new approach. Our quaternionic boundary Schwarz lemma with optimal estimate improves considerably a well-known Osserman type estimate and provides additionally all the extremal functions.

Julia theory for slice regular functions

Slice regular functions have been extensively studied over the past decade, but much less is known about their boundary behavior. In this paper, we initiate the study of Julia theory for slice regular functions. More specifically, we establish the quaternionic versions of the Julia lemma, the Julia-Carathéodory theorem, the boundary Schwarz lemma, and the Burns-Krantz rigidity theorem for slice regular self-mappings of the open unit ball $\mathbb B$ and of the right half-space $\mathbb H^+$. Our quaternionic boundary Schwarz lemma involves a Lie bracket reflecting the non-commutativity of quaternions. Together with some explicit examples, it shows that the slice derivative of a slice regular self-mapping of $\mathbb B$ at a boundary fixed point is not necessarily a positive real number, in contrast to that in the complex case, meaning that its commonly believed version turns out to be totally wrong.

Boundary Schwarz lemma for holomorphic self-mappings of strongly pseudoconvex domains

In this paper, we generalize a recent work of Liu et al. from the open unit ball $\mathbb B^n$ to more general bounded strongly pseudoconvex domains with $C^2$ boundary. It turns out that part of the main result in this paper is in some certain sense just a part of results in a work of Bracci and Zaitsev. However, the proofs are significantly different: the argument in this paper involves a simple growth estimate for the Carathéodory metric near the boundary of $C^2$ domains and the well-known Graham's estimate on the boundary behavior of the Carathéodory metric on strongly pseudoconvex domains, while Bracci and Zaitsev use other arguments.

On two Bloch type theorems for quaternionic slice regular functions

In this paper we prove two Bloch type theorems for quaternionic slice regular functions. We first discuss the injective and covering properties of some classes of slice regular functions from slice regular Bloch spaces and slice regular Bergman spaces, respectively. And then we show that there exits a universal ball contained in the image of the open unit ball $\mathbb{B}$ in quaternions $\mathbb{H}$ through the slice regular rotation $\widetilde{f}_{u}$ of each slice regular function $f:\overline{\mathbb{B}}\rightarrow \mathbb{H}$ with $f'(0)=1$ for some $u\in \partial\mathbb{B}$.

Extremal functions of boundary Schwarz lemma

In this paper, we present an alternative and elementary proof of a sharp version of the classical boundary Schwarz lemma by Frolova et al. with initial proof via analytic semigroup approach and Julia-Carathéodory theorem for univalent holomorphic self-mappings of the open unit disk $\mathbb D\subset \mathbb C$. Our approach has its extra advantage to get the extremal functions of the inequality in the boundary Schwarz lemma.
