EvoNav-Bench: Benchmarking Lifelong Navigation in Evolving Environments

Lifelong navigation (LN) requires an embodied agent to solve a sequence of navigation subtasks in the same environment. Since solving each subtask from scratch incurs redundant exploration, an LN agent must consolidate experience from earlier stages and reuse it in later stages, often through persistent scene representations such as scene graphs or visual snapshots. However, existing approaches typically assume a stationary environment, whereas in real-world LN settings, human activities can cause the environment to evolve. With the stationary assumption violated, existing methods may fuse outdated prior observations with new observations, yet current benchmarks cannot reveal this failure mode. In this paper, we present EvoNav-Bench, which extends the GOAT-Bench style LN formulation in the context of evolving environments. Built on the ProcTHOR framework, EvoNav-Bench introduces environment modifications between navigation tasks, making prior experience useful but not fully reliable. This design enables controlled evaluation of how environment evolution affects LN agents that reuse prior scene observations. Using EvoNav-Bench, we benchmark three recent methods that build and reuse scene representations for navigation. We also compare three simple heuristic strategies for handling environment evolution: Frontier-Update, Fail-then-Update, and Stage-Reset. Our results show that existing methods are brittle under environment evolution, while the heuristic strategies enable a controlled analysis of how agents can adapt to scene changes and mitigate their impact.

UniLM-Nav: A Unified Framework for Zero-Shot Last-Mile Navigation

Mobile manipulation requires a robot to navigate to a target object or receptacle and then perform intended manipulation. However, reaching the vicinity of the target does not guarantee a manipulation-ready base pose, a problem known as last-mile navigation. Prior methods for last-mile navigation either rely on manual pose annotation or task-specific training, limiting their scalability to open-vocabulary settings with fine-grained spatial constraints. We propose UniLM-Nav, a unified framework for zero-shot open-vocabulary last-mile navigation. UniLM-Nav decomposes last-mile navigation into view selection, task-conditioned affordance grounding, and geometry-aware base-pose reasoning, all resolved with a shared multimodal large language model (MLLM) backend. Specifically, UniLM-Nav first selects a reference view that best captures the target object or receptacle from recently collected observations. It then grounds task-relevant affordance point in the selected view and lifts the result into the robot-centric coordinate frame. Finally, conditioned on the grounded affordance, task context, and robot geometry, it infers a manipulation-ready base pose for the robot. We evaluate UniLM-Nav on the OVMM benchmark, where it outperforms the previous state-of-the-art method, MoTo, by 3.13 percentage points. Analyses show that the components of our method are crucial to final performance, and that the choice of MLLM also has a substantial effect. We further deploy UniLM-Nav on a Unitree B2 quadruped robot with a 6-DoF Unitree Z1 manipulator, validating its applicability to real-world mobile manipulation tasks.

CAD-Coder: Text-to-CAD Generation with Chain-of-Thought and Geometric Reward

In this work, we introduce CAD-Coder, a novel framework that reformulates text-to-CAD as the generation of CadQuery scripts - a Python-based, parametric CAD language. This representation enables direct geometric validation, a richer modeling vocabulary, and seamless integration with existing LLMs. To further enhance code validity and geometric fidelity, we propose a two-stage learning pipeline: (1) supervised fine-tuning on paired text-CadQuery data, and (2) reinforcement learning with Group Reward Policy Optimization (GRPO), guided by a CAD-specific reward comprising both a geometric reward (Chamfer Distance) and a format reward. We also introduce a chain-of-thought (CoT) planning process to improve model reasoning, and construct a large-scale, high-quality dataset of 110K text-CadQuery-3D model triplets and 1.5K CoT samples via an automated pipeline. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CAD-Coder enables LLMs to generate diverse, valid, and complex CAD models directly from natural language, advancing the state of the art of text-to-CAD generation and geometric reasoning.

ISTASTrack: Bridging ANN and SNN via ISTA Adapter for RGB-Event Tracking

RGB-Event tracking has become a promising trend in visual object tracking to leverage the complementary strengths of both RGB images and dynamic spike events for improved performance. However, existing artificial neural networks (ANNs) struggle to fully exploit the sparse and asynchronous nature of event streams. Recent efforts toward hybrid architectures combining ANNs and spiking neural networks (SNNs) have emerged as a promising solution in RGB-Event perception, yet effectively fusing features across heterogeneous paradigms remains a challenge. In this work, we propose ISTASTrack, the first transformer-based \textbf{A}NN-\textbf{S}NN hybrid \textbf{Track}er equipped with \textbf{ISTA} adapters for RGB-Event tracking. The two-branch model employs a vision transformer to extract spatial context from RGB inputs and a spiking transformer to capture spatio-temporal dynamics from event streams. To bridge the modality and paradigm gap between ANN and SNN features, we systematically design a model-based ISTA adapter for bidirectional feature interaction between the two branches, derived from sparse representation theory by unfolding the iterative shrinkage thresholding algorithm. Additionally, we incorporate a temporal downsampling attention module within the adapter to align multi-step SNN features with single-step ANN features in the latent space, improving temporal fusion. Experimental results on RGB-Event tracking benchmarks, such as FE240hz, VisEvent, COESOT, and FELT, have demonstrated that ISTASTrack achieves state-of-the-art performance while maintaining high energy efficiency, highlighting the effectiveness and practicality of hybrid ANN-SNN designs for robust visual tracking. Move to Understand a 3D Scene: Bridging Visual Grounding and Exploration for Efficient and Versatile Embodied Navigation

Embodied scene understanding requires not only comprehending visual-spatial information that has been observed but also determining where to explore next in the 3D physical world. Existing 3D Vision-Language (3D-VL) models primarily focus on grounding objects in static observations from 3D reconstruction, such as meshes and point clouds, but lack the ability to actively perceive and explore their environment. To address this limitation, we introduce \underline{\textbf{M}}ove \underline{\textbf{t}}o \underline{\textbf{U}}nderstand (\textbf{\model}), a unified framework that integrates active perception with \underline{\textbf{3D}} vision-language learning, enabling embodied agents to effectively explore and understand their environment. This is achieved by three key innovations: 1) Online query-based representation learning, enabling direct spatial memory construction from RGB-D frames, eliminating the need for explicit 3D reconstruction. 2) A unified objective for grounding and exploring, which represents unexplored locations as frontier queries and jointly optimizes object grounding and frontier selection. 3) End-to-end trajectory learning that combines \textbf{V}ision-\textbf{L}anguage-\textbf{E}xploration pre-training over a million diverse trajectories collected from both simulated and real-world RGB-D sequences. Extensive evaluations across various embodied navigation and question-answering benchmarks show that MTU3D outperforms state-of-the-art reinforcement learning and modular navigation approaches by 14\%, 23\%, 9\%, and 2\% in success rate on HM3D-OVON, GOAT-Bench, SG3D, and A-EQA, respectively. \model's versatility enables navigation using diverse input modalities, including categories, language descriptions, and reference images. These findings highlight the importance of bridging visual grounding and exploration for embodied intelligence.

EventDiff: A Unified and Efficient Diffusion Model Framework for Event-based Video Frame Interpolation

Video Frame Interpolation (VFI) is a fundamental yet challenging task in computer vision, particularly under conditions involving large motion, occlusion, and lighting variation. Recent advancements in event cameras have opened up new opportunities for addressing these challenges. While existing event-based VFI methods have succeeded in recovering large and complex motions by leveraging handcrafted intermediate representations such as optical flow, these designs often compromise high-fidelity image reconstruction under subtle motion scenarios due to their reliance on explicit motion modeling. Meanwhile, diffusion models provide a promising alternative for VFI by reconstructing frames through a denoising process, eliminating the need for explicit motion estimation or warping operations. In this work, we propose EventDiff, a unified and efficient event-based diffusion model framework for VFI. EventDiff features a novel Event-Frame Hybrid AutoEncoder (HAE) equipped with a lightweight Spatial-Temporal Cross Attention (STCA) module that effectively fuses dynamic event streams with static frames. Unlike previous event-based VFI methods, EventDiff performs interpolation directly in the latent space via a denoising diffusion process, making it more robust across diverse and challenging VFI scenarios. Through a two-stage training strategy that first pretrains the HAE and then jointly optimizes it with the diffusion model, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance across multiple synthetic and real-world event VFI datasets. The proposed method outperforms existing state-of-the-art event-based VFI methods by up to 1.98dB in PSNR on Vimeo90K-Triplet and shows superior performance in SNU-FILM tasks with multiple difficulty levels. Compared to the emerging diffusion-based VFI approach, our method achieves up to 5.72dB PSNR gain on Vimeo90K-Triplet and 4.24X faster inference.

From 2D CAD Drawings to 3D Parametric Models: A Vision-Language Approach

In this paper, we present CAD2Program, a new method for reconstructing 3D parametric models from 2D CAD drawings. Our proposed method is inspired by recent successes in vision-language models (VLMs), and departs from traditional methods which rely on task-specific data representations and/or algorithms. Specifically, on the input side, we simply treat the 2D CAD drawing as a raster image, regardless of its original format, and encode the image with a standard ViT model. We show that such an encoding scheme achieves competitive performance against existing methods that operate on vector-graphics inputs, while imposing substantially fewer restrictions on the 2D drawings. On the output side, our method auto-regressively predicts a general-purpose language describing 3D parametric models in text form. Compared to other sequence modeling methods for CAD which use domain-specific sequence representations with fixed-size slots, our text-based representation is more flexible, and can be easily extended to arbitrary geometric entities and semantic or functional properties. Experimental results on a large-scale dataset of cabinet models demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

A Fabrication Method for Adaptive Dielectric Gradient Insulating Components

Dielectric gradient components have advantages in electric field mitigation and insulation improvement. In this paper, we propose a fabrication method for adaptive dielectric gradient components using in situ AC electric field, including the mechanism and the corresponding operational procedures for industrial applications. Based on the electric polarization and self-assembly effect of the filler particles in the liquid matrix, the chain-like structure in the high field strength region is constructed to enhance the local permittivity and mitigate the maximum of the spatial electric field. The dielectric gradient basin insulator is prepared by this method, and its flashover voltage is increased by 12.8% compared with that of a homogeneous dielectric basin insulator, and the improvement is 20.8% when metal particles are present on the surface. The more non-uniform the initial electric field is, the greater the improvement in flashover voltage. This method is expected to promote the industrial application of dielectric gradient insulating components.

Analytical Model for the Transient Permittivity of Uncured TiO2 Whisker/Liquid Silicone Rubber Composites Under an AC Electric Field

The electric field grading of dielectric permittivity gradient devices is an effective way of enhancing their insulation properties. The in-situ electric field-driven assembly is an advanced method for the fabrication of insulation devices with adaptive permittivity gradients, however, there is no theoretical guidance for design. In this work, an analytical model with a time constant is developed to determine the transient permittivity of uncured composites under an applied AC electric field. This model is based on optical image and dielectric permittivity monitoring, which avoids the direct processing of complex electrodynamics. For a composite with given components, the increased filler content and electric field strength can accelerate the transient process. Compared with the finite element method (FEM) based on differential equations, this statistical model is simple but efficient, and can be applied to any low-viscosity uncured composites, which may contain multiple fillers. More importantly, when a voltage is applied to an uncured composite insulating device, the proposed model can be used to analyse the spatiotemporal permittivity characteristics of this device and optimise its permittivity gradient for electric field grading.
