Affine deformations of quasi-divisible convex cones

For any subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}(3,\mathbb{R})\ltimes\mathbb{R}^3$ obtained by adding a translation part to a subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}(3,\mathbb{R})$ which is the fundamental group of a finite-volume convex projective surface, we first show that under a natural condition on the translation parts of parabolic elements, the affine action of the group on $\mathbb{R}^3$ has convex domains of discontinuity that are regular in a certain sense, generalizing a result of Mess for globally hyperbolic flat spacetimes. We then classify all these domains and show that the quotient of each of them is an affine manifold foliated by convex surfaces with constant affine Gaussian curvature. The proof is based on a correspondence between the geometry of an affine space endowed with a convex cone and the geometry of a convex tube domain. As an independent result, we show that the moduli space of such groups is a vector bundle over the moduli space of finite-volume convex projective structures, with rank equaling the dimension of the Teichmüller space.

Poles of cubic differentials and ends of convex $\mathbb{RP}^2$-surfaces

The affine sphere construction gives, on any oriented surface, a one-to-one correspondence between convex $\mathbb{RP}^2$-structures and holomorphic cubic differentials. Generalizing results of Benoist-Hulin, Loftin and Dumas-Wolf, we show that poles of order less than $3$ of cubic differentials correspond to finite volume ends of convex $\mathbb{RP}^2$-structures, and poles of order $3$ (resp. bigger than $3$) correspond to geodesic (resp. piecewise geodesic) ends. In particular, at a pole of order at least $3$, we bordify the surface by attaching to it a boundary circle in a natural way with respect to the cubic differential, and show that the $\mathbb{RP}^2$-structure extends to the boundary in a metric preserving way.

Limit polygons of convex domains in the projective plane

For any sequence of properly convex domains in the real projective plane such that the zeros of Pick differentials have bounded multiplicity and get further and further apart, we determined all Hausdorff limit domains that one can obtain after normalizing each member of the sequence by a projective transformation. We then show that the result can be applied to convex domains generated by projective triangular reflection groups.

Regular domains and surfaces of constant Gaussian curvature in three-dimensional affine space

Generalizing the notion of domains of dependence in the Minkowski space, we define and study regular domains in the affine space with respect to a proper convex cone. In dimension three, we show that every proper regular domain is uniquely foliated by a particular kind of surfaces with constant affine Gaussian curvature. The result is based on the analysis of a Monge-Ampère equation with extended-real-valued lower semicontinuous boundary condition.

Meromorphic cubic differentials and convex projective structures

Extending the Labourie-Loftin correspondence, we establish, on any punctured oriented surface of finite type, a one-to-one correspondence between convex projective structures with specific types of ends and punctured Riemann surface structures endowed with meromorphic cubic differentials whose poles are at the punctures. This generalizes previous results of Loftin, Benoist-Hulin and Dumas-Wolf.

Entropy degeneration of convex projective surfaces

We show that the volume entropy of the Hilbert metric on a closed convex projective surface tends to zero as the corresponding Pick differential tends to infinity. The proof is based on the theorem, due to Benoist and Hulin, that the Hilbert metric and Blaschke metric are comparable.

On the Hilbert geometry of simplicial Tits sets

The moduli space of convex projective structures on a simplicial hyperbolic Coxeter orbifold is either a point or the real line. Answering a question of M. Crampon, we prove that in the latter case, when one goes to infinity in the moduli space, the entropy of the Hilbert metric tends to 0.

The quasi-Poisson Goldman formula

We prove a quasi-Poisson bracket formula for the space of representations of the fundamental groupoid of a surface with boundary, which generalizes Goldman's Poisson bracket formula. We also deduce a similar formula for quasi-Poisson cross-sections.
