Can Large Language Models Effectively Process and Execute Financial Trading Instructions?

The development of Large Language Models (LLMs) has created transformative opportunities for the financial industry, especially in the area of financial trading. However, how to integrate LLMs with trading systems has become a challenge. To address this problem, we propose an intelligent trade order recognition pipeline that enables the conversion of trade orders into a standard format in trade execution. The system improves the ability of human traders to interact with trading platforms while addressing the problem of misinformation acquisition in trade execution. In addition, we have created a trade order dataset of 500 pieces of data to simulate real-world trading scenarios. Moreover, we designed several metrics to provide a comprehensive assessment of dataset reliability and the generative power of big models in finance by experimenting with five state-of-the-art LLMs on our dataset. The results indicate that while LLMs demonstrate high generation rates (87.50% to 98.33%) and perfect follow-up rates, they face significant challenges in accuracy (5% to 10%) and completeness, with high missing rates (14.29% to 67.29%). In addition, LLMs tend to over-interrogate, suggesting that large models tend to collect more information, carrying certain challenges for information security.

Enhancing Single Image to 3D Generation using Gaussian Splatting and Hybrid Diffusion Priors

3D object generation from a single image involves estimating the full 3D geometry and texture of unseen views from an unposed RGB image captured in the wild. Accurately reconstructing an object's complete 3D structure and texture has numerous applications in real-world scenarios, including robotic manipulation, grasping, 3D scene understanding, and AR/VR. Recent advancements in 3D object generation have introduced techniques that reconstruct an object's 3D shape and texture by optimizing the efficient representation of Gaussian Splatting, guided by pre-trained 2D or 3D diffusion models. However, a notable disparity exists between the training datasets of these models, leading to distinct differences in their outputs. While 2D models generate highly detailed visuals, they lack cross-view consistency in geometry and texture. In contrast, 3D models ensure consistency across different views but often result in overly smooth textures. We propose bridging the gap between 2D and 3D diffusion models to address this limitation by integrating a two-stage frequency-based distillation loss with Gaussian Splatting. Specifically, we leverage geometric priors in the low-frequency spectrum from a 3D diffusion model to maintain consistent geometry and use a 2D diffusion model to refine the fidelity and texture in the high-frequency spectrum of the generated 3D structure, resulting in more detailed and fine-grained outcomes. Our approach enhances geometric consistency and visual quality, outperforming the current SOTA. Additionally, we demonstrate the easy adaptability of our method for efficient object pose estimation and tracking.

Simple But Not Secure: An Empirical Security Analysis of Two-factor Authentication Systems

To protect users from data breaches and phishing attacks, service providers typically implement two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security against suspicious login attempts. However, since 2FA can sometimes hinder user experience by introducing additional steps, many websites aim to reduce inconvenience by minimizing the frequency of 2FA prompts. One approach to achieve this is by storing the user's ``Remember the Device'' preference in a cookie. As a result, users are only prompted for 2FA when this cookie expires or if they log in from a new device. To understand and improve the security of 2FA systems in real-world settings, we propose SE2FA, a vulnerability evaluation framework designed to detect vulnerabilities in 2FA systems. This framework enables us to analyze the security of 407 2FA systems across popular websites from the Tranco Top 10,000 list. Our analysis and evaluation found three zero-day vulnerabilities on three service providers that could allow an attacker to access a victim's account without possessing the victim's second authentication factor, thereby bypassing 2FA protections entirely. A further investigation found that these vulnerabilities stem from design choices aimed at simplifying 2FA for users but that unintentionally reduce its security effectiveness. We have disclosed these findings to the affected websites and assisted them in mitigating the risks. Based on the insights from this research, we provide practical recommendations for countermeasures to strengthen 2FA security and address these newly identified threats.

3D Multi-Object Tracking with Semi-Supervised GRU-Kalman Filter

3D Multi-Object Tracking (MOT), a fundamental component of environmental perception, is essential for intelligent systems like autonomous driving and robotic sensing. Although Tracking-by-Detection frameworks have demonstrated excellent performance in recent years, their application in real-world scenarios faces significant challenges. Object movement in complex environments is often highly nonlinear, while existing methods typically rely on linear approximations of motion. Furthermore, system noise is frequently modeled as a Gaussian distribution, which fails to capture the true complexity of the noise dynamics. These oversimplified modeling assumptions can lead to significant reductions in tracking precision. To address this, we propose a GRU-based MOT method, which introduces a learnable Kalman filter into the motion module. This approach is able to learn object motion characteristics through data-driven learning, thereby avoiding the need for manual model design and model error. At the same time, to avoid abnormal supervision caused by the wrong association between annotations and trajectories, we design a semi-supervised learning strategy to accelerate the convergence speed and improve the robustness of the model. Evaluation experiment on the nuScenes and Argoverse2 datasets demonstrates that our system exhibits superior performance and significant potential compared to traditional TBD methods.

Biomass phenotyping of oilseed rape through UAV multi-view oblique imaging with 3DGS and SAM model

Biomass estimation of oilseed rape is crucial for optimizing crop productivity and breeding strategies. While UAV-based imaging has advanced high-throughput phenotyping, current methods often rely on orthophoto images, which struggle with overlapping leaves and incomplete structural information in complex field environments. This study integrates 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) with the Segment Anything Model (SAM) for precise 3D reconstruction and biomass estimation of oilseed rape. UAV multi-view oblique images from 36 angles were used to perform 3D reconstruction, with the SAM module enhancing point cloud segmentation. The segmented point clouds were then converted into point cloud volumes, which were fitted to ground-measured biomass using linear regression. The results showed that 3DGS (7k and 30k iterations) provided high accuracy, with peak signal-to-noise ratios (PSNR) of 27.43 and 29.53 and training times of 7 and 49 minutes, respectively. This performance exceeded that of structure from motion (SfM) and mipmap Neural Radiance Fields (Mip-NeRF), demonstrating superior efficiency. The SAM module achieved high segmentation accuracy, with a mean intersection over union (mIoU) of 0.961 and an F1-score of 0.980. Additionally, a comparison of biomass extraction models found the point cloud volume model to be the most accurate, with an determination coefficient (R2) of 0.976, root mean square error (RMSE) of 2.92 g/plant, and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 6.81%, outperforming both the plot crop volume and individual crop volume models. This study highlights the potential of combining 3DGS with multi-view UAV imaging for improved biomass phenotyping.

Mitral Regurgitation Recognition based on Unsupervised Out-of-Distribution Detection with Residual Diffusion Amplification

Mitral regurgitation (MR) is a serious heart valve disease. Early and accurate diagnosis of MR via ultrasound video is critical for timely clinical decision-making and surgical intervention. However, manual MR diagnosis heavily relies on the operator's experience, which may cause misdiagnosis and inter-observer variability. Since MR data is limited and has large intra-class variability, we propose an unsupervised out-of-distribution (OOD) detection method to identify MR rather than building a deep classifier. To our knowledge, we are the first to explore OOD in MR ultrasound videos. Our method consists of a feature extractor, a feature reconstruction model, and a residual accumulation amplification algorithm. The feature extractor obtains features from the video clips and feeds them into the feature reconstruction model to restore the original features. The residual accumulation amplification algorithm then iteratively performs noise feature reconstruction, amplifying the reconstructed error of OOD features. This algorithm is straightforward yet efficient and can seamlessly integrate as a plug-and-play component in reconstruction-based OOD detection methods. We validated the proposed method on a large ultrasound dataset containing 893 non-MR and 267 MR videos. Experimental results show that our OOD detection method can effectively identify MR samples.

Differentially Private Attention Computation

Large language models (LLMs), especially those based on the Transformer architecture, have had a profound impact on various aspects of daily life, such as natural language processing, content generation, research methodologies, and more. Nevertheless, a crucial concern regarding the inference results of large language models is the issue of security and privacy. Given that large language models can generate results that may leak sensitive confidential or copyright information in many scenarios, it is crucial to compute the attention matrix with provable privacy guarantees, as attention is all you need. In this work, we propose a novel and efficient algorithm for approximating the attention matrix while providing differential privacy (DP) guarantees. To achieve this, we build on recent advancements in fast attention computation and differentially private matrix publishing.

LiDAR-Inertial Odometry in Dynamic Driving Scenarios using Label Consistency Detection

In this paper, a LiDAR-inertial odometry (LIO) method that eliminates the influence of moving objects in dynamic driving scenarios is proposed. This method constructs binarized labels for 3D points of current sweep, and utilizes the label difference between each point and its surrounding points in map to identify moving objects. Firstly, the binarized labels, i.e., ground and non-ground are assigned to each 3D point in current sweep using ground segmentation. In actual driving scenarios, dynamic objects are always located on the ground. For most points scanned from moving objects, they cannot coincide with any existing structures in space. For a minority of moving objects' points that are close to the ground, their labels exhibit differences with surrounding ground points. Thus, the points on moving objects are identified due to lacking of nearest neighbors in map or inconsistency with the labels of surround ground points. The nearest neighbors from global map are localized by voxel-location-based nearest neighbor search and the consistency is evaluated by comparing the label consistency with nearest neighbors, without involving any massive computations. Finally, the points on moving objects are removed. The proposed method is embeded into a self-developed LIO system (i.e., Dynamic-LIO), evaluated with six public datasets, and tested in both dynamic and static environments. Experimental results demonstrate that our method can identify moving objects with extremlely low computational overhead (i.e., 1-9ms/sweep), and our Dynamic-LIO can achieve state-of-the-art pose estimation accuracy in both static and dynamic scenarios. We have released the source code of this work for the development of the community.

Sketching Meets Differential Privacy: Fast Algorithm for Dynamic Kronecker Projection Maintenance

Projection maintenance is one of the core data structure tasks. Efficient data structures for projection maintenance have led to recent breakthroughs in many convex programming algorithms. In this work, we further extend this framework to the Kronecker product structure. Given a constraint matrix ${\sf A}$ and a positive semi-definite matrix $W\in \mathbb{R}^{n\times n}$ with a sparse eigenbasis, we consider the task of maintaining the projection in the form of ${\sf B}^\top({\sf B}{\sf B}^\top)^{-1}{\sf B}$, where ${\sf B}={\sf A}(W\otimes I)$ or ${\sf B}={\sf A}(W^{1/2}\otimes W^{1/2})$. At each iteration, the weight matrix $W$ receives a low rank change and we receive a new vector $h$. The goal is to maintain the projection matrix and answer the query ${\sf B}^\top({\sf B}{\sf B}^\top)^{-1}{\sf B}h$ with good approximation guarantees. We design a fast dynamic data structure for this task and it is robust against an adaptive adversary. Following the beautiful and pioneering work of [Beimel, Kaplan, Mansour, Nissim, Saranurak and Stemmer, STOC'22], we use tools from differential privacy to reduce the randomness required by the data structure and further improve the running time.

Labeled-to-Unlabeled Distribution Alignment for Partially-Supervised Multi-Organ Medical Image Segmentation

Partially-supervised multi-organ medical image segmentation aims to develop a unified semantic segmentation model by utilizing multiple partially-labeled datasets, with each dataset providing labels for a single class of organs. However, the limited availability of labeled foreground organs and the absence of supervision to distinguish unlabeled foreground organs from the background pose a significant challenge, which leads to a distribution mismatch between labeled and unlabeled pixels. Although existing pseudo-labeling methods can be employed to learn from both labeled and unlabeled pixels, they are prone to performance degradation in this task, as they rely on the assumption that labeled and unlabeled pixels have the same distribution. In this paper, to address the problem of distribution mismatch, we propose a labeled-to-unlabeled distribution alignment (LTUDA) framework that aligns feature distributions and enhances discriminative capability. Specifically, we introduce a cross-set data augmentation strategy, which performs region-level mixing between labeled and unlabeled organs to reduce distribution discrepancy and enrich the training set. Besides, we propose a prototype-based distribution alignment method that implicitly reduces intra-class variation and increases the separation between the unlabeled foreground and background. This can be achieved by encouraging consistency between the outputs of two prototype classifiers and a linear classifier. Extensive experimental results on the AbdomenCT-1K dataset and a union of four benchmark datasets (including LiTS, MSD-Spleen, KiTS, and NIH82) demonstrate that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art partially-supervised methods by a considerable margin, and even surpasses the fully-supervised methods. UniUSNet: A Promptable Framework for Universal Ultrasound Disease Prediction and Tissue Segmentation

Ultrasound is widely used in clinical practice due to its affordability, portability, and safety. However, current AI research often overlooks combined disease prediction and tissue segmentation. We propose UniUSNet, a universal framework for ultrasound image classification and segmentation. This model handles various ultrasound types, anatomical positions, and input formats, excelling in both segmentation and classification tasks. Trained on a comprehensive dataset with over 9.7K annotations from 7 distinct anatomical positions, our model matches state-of-the-art performance and surpasses single-dataset and ablated models. Zero-shot and fine-tuning experiments show strong generalization and adaptability with minimal fine-tuning. We plan to expand our dataset and refine the prompting mechanism, with model weights and code available at (https://github.com/Zehui-Lin/UniUSNet).

Quantifying the high early solar cosmic ray flux with cosmogenic neon isotopes in refractory minerals

An enhancement in the activity of the early young Sun resulting in a high charged particle flux has been invoked to explain excesses in spallation-induced nuclides in primitive planetary materials. Astronomical observations of energetic outbursts of young stellar objects (YSOs) also support the idea of an active young Sun. However, the early solar cosmic-ray (SCR) flux has not been well constrained. Here we use measured concentrations of SCR-produced nuclides that formed and are preserved in meteoritical hibonite and spinel, some of the oldest solids formed in the Solar System, and physical models for dust transport in the early protoplanetary disk to determine the magnitude of the early SCR flux. We focus our attention on cosmogenic neon which cannot have been inherited from precursors and can only be produced in situ in solids. Our modeled effective exposure time to SCRs for these solids is very short on the order of years. This indicates the early SCR flux recorded in refractory mineral hibonite was up to ~7 orders of magnitude higher than the contemporary level. Our flux estimate is consistent with the >10^5 enhanced flux inferred from astronomical observations of greatly enhanced flare activities of YSOs.

Direct measurement of topological invariants through temporal adiabatic evolution of bulk states in the synthetic Brillouin zone

Mathematically, topological invariants arise from the parallel transport of eigenstates on the energy bands, which, in physics, correspond to the adiabatic dynamical evolution of transient states. It determines the presence of boundary states, while lacking direct measurements. Here, we develop time-varying programmable coupling circuits between acoustic cavities to mimic the Hamiltonians in the Brillouin zone, with which excitation and adiabatic evolution of bulk states are realized in a unit cell. By extracting the Berry phases of the bulk band, topological invariants, including the Zak phase for the SSH model and the Chern number for the AAH model, are obtained convincingly. The bulk state evolution also provides insight into the topological charges of our newly developed non-Abelian models, which are also verified by observing the adiabatic eigenframe rotation. Our work not only provides a general recipe for telling various topological invariants but also sheds light on transient acoustic wave manipulations.

CACE-Net: Co-guidance Attention and Contrastive Enhancement for Effective Audio-Visual Event Localization

The audio-visual event localization task requires identifying concurrent visual and auditory events from unconstrained videos within a network model, locating them, and classifying their category. The efficient extraction and integration of audio and visual modal information have always been challenging in this field. In this paper, we introduce CACE-Net, which differs from most existing methods that solely use audio signals to guide visual information. We propose an audio-visual co-guidance attention mechanism that allows for adaptive bi-directional cross-modal attentional guidance between audio and visual information, thus reducing inconsistencies between modalities. Moreover, we have observed that existing methods have difficulty distinguishing between similar background and event and lack the fine-grained features for event classification. Consequently, we employ background-event contrast enhancement to increase the discrimination of fused feature and fine-tuned pre-trained model to extract more refined and discernible features from complex multimodal inputs. Specifically, we have enhanced the model's ability to discern subtle differences between event and background and improved the accuracy of event classification in our model. Experiments on the AVE dataset demonstrate that CACE-Net sets a new benchmark in the audio-visual event localization task, proving the effectiveness of our proposed methods in handling complex multimodal learning and event localization in unconstrained videos. PanicleNeRF: low-cost, high-precision in-field phenotypingof rice panicles with smartphone

The rice panicle traits significantly influence grain yield, making them a primary target for rice phenotyping studies. However, most existing techniques are limited to controlled indoor environments and difficult to capture the rice panicle traits under natural growth conditions. Here, we developed PanicleNeRF, a novel method that enables high-precision and low-cost reconstruction of rice panicle three-dimensional (3D) models in the field using smartphone. The proposed method combined the large model Segment Anything Model (SAM) and the small model You Only Look Once version 8 (YOLOv8) to achieve high-precision segmentation of rice panicle images. The NeRF technique was then employed for 3D reconstruction using the images with 2D segmentation. Finally, the resulting point clouds are processed to successfully extract panicle traits. The results show that PanicleNeRF effectively addressed the 2D image segmentation task, achieving a mean F1 Score of 86.9% and a mean Intersection over Union (IoU) of 79.8%, with nearly double the boundary overlap (BO) performance compared to YOLOv8. As for point cloud quality, PanicleNeRF significantly outperformed traditional SfM-MVS (structure-from-motion and multi-view stereo) methods, such as COLMAP and Metashape. The panicle length was then accurately extracted with the rRMSE of 2.94% for indica and 1.75% for japonica rice. The panicle volume estimated from 3D point clouds strongly correlated with the grain number (R2 = 0.85 for indica and 0.82 for japonica) and grain mass (0.80 for indica and 0.76 for japonica). This method provides a low-cost solution for high-throughput in-field phenotyping of rice panicles, accelerating the efficiency of rice breeding.

Robust Box Prompt based SAM for Medical Image Segmentation

The Segment Anything Model (SAM) can achieve satisfactory segmentation performance under high-quality box prompts. However, SAM's robustness is compromised by the decline in box quality, limiting its practicality in clinical reality. In this study, we propose a novel Robust Box prompt based SAM (\textbf{RoBox-SAM}) to ensure SAM's segmentation performance under prompts with different qualities. Our contribution is three-fold. First, we propose a prompt refinement module to implicitly perceive the potential targets, and output the offsets to directly transform the low-quality box prompt into a high-quality one. We then provide an online iterative strategy for further prompt refinement. Second, we introduce a prompt enhancement module to automatically generate point prompts to assist the box-promptable segmentation effectively. Last, we build a self-information extractor to encode the prior information from the input image. These features can optimize the image embeddings and attention calculation, thus, the robustness of SAM can be further enhanced. Extensive experiments on the large medical segmentation dataset including 99,299 images, 5 modalities, and 25 organs/targets validated the efficacy of our proposed RoBox-SAM.

Explainable and Controllable Motion Curve Guided Cardiac Ultrasound Video Generation

Echocardiography video is a primary modality for diagnosing heart diseases, but the limited data poses challenges for both clinical teaching and machine learning training. Recently, video generative models have emerged as a promising strategy to alleviate this issue. However, previous methods often relied on holistic conditions during generation, hindering the flexible movement control over specific cardiac structures. In this context, we propose an explainable and controllable method for echocardiography video generation, taking an initial frame and a motion curve as guidance. Our contributions are three-fold. First, we extract motion information from each heart substructure to construct motion curves, enabling the diffusion model to synthesize customized echocardiography videos by modifying these curves. Second, we propose the structure-to-motion alignment module, which can map semantic features onto motion curves across cardiac structures. Third, The position-aware attention mechanism is designed to enhance video consistency utilizing Gaussian masks with structural position information. Extensive experiments on three echocardiography datasets show that our method outperforms others regarding fidelity and consistency. The full code will be released at https://github.com/mlmi-2024-72/ECM.

PASSION: Towards Effective Incomplete Multi-Modal Medical Image Segmentation with Imbalanced Missing Rates

Incomplete multi-modal image segmentation is a fundamental task in medical imaging to refine deployment efficiency when only partial modalities are available. However, the common practice that complete-modality data is visible during model training is far from realistic, as modalities can have imbalanced missing rates in clinical scenarios. In this paper, we, for the first time, formulate such a challenging setting and propose Preference-Aware Self-diStillatION (PASSION) for incomplete multi-modal medical image segmentation under imbalanced missing rates. Specifically, we first construct pixel-wise and semantic-wise self-distillation to balance the optimization objective of each modality. Then, we define relative preference to evaluate the dominance of each modality during training, based on which to design task-wise and gradient-wise regularization to balance the convergence rates of different modalities. Experimental results on two publicly available multi-modal datasets demonstrate the superiority of PASSION against existing approaches for modality balancing. More importantly, PASSION is validated to work as a plug-and-play module for consistent performance improvement across different backbones. Code is available at https://github.com/Jun-Jie-Shi/PASSION.
