Joint Millimeter Wave and Microwave Wave Resource Allocation Design for Dual-Mode Base Stations

In this paper, we consider the design of joint resource blocks (RBs) and power allocation for dual-mode base stations operating over millimeter wave (mmW) band and microwave ($μ$W) band. The resource allocation design aims to minimize the system energy consumption while taking into account the channel state information, maximum delay, load, and different types of user applications (UAs). To facilitate the design, we first propose a group-based algorithm to assign UAs to multiple groups. Within each group, low-power UAs, which often appear in short distance and experience less obstacles, are inclined to be served over mmW band. The allocation problem over mmW band can be solved by a greedy algorithm. Over $μ$W band, we propose an estimation-optimal-descent algorithm. The rate of each UA at all RBs is estimated to initialize the allocation. Then, we keep altering RB's ownership until any altering makes power increases. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithm offers an excellent tradeoff between low energy consumption and fair transmission.

Analysis of Outage Probabilities for Cooperative NOMA Users with Imperfect CSI

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is a promising spectrally-efficient technology to meet the massive data requirement of the next-generation wireless communication networks. In this paper, we consider a cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (CNOMA) networks consisting of a base station and two users, where the near user serves as a decode-and-forward relay to help the far user, and investigate the outage probability of the CNOMA users under two different types of channel estimation errors. For both CNOMA users, we derive the closed-form expressions of the outage probability and discuss the asymptotic characteristics for the outage probability in the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regimes. Our results show that for the case of constant variance of the channel estimation error, the outage probability of two users are limited by a performance bottleneck which related to the value of the error variance. In contrast, there is no such performance bottleneck for the outage probability when the variance of the channel estimation error deceases with SNR, and in this case the diversity gain is fully achieved by the far user.

Continuous-variable measurement-device-independent multipartite quantum communication

A continuous variable measurement device independent multi-party quantum communication protocol is investigated in this paper. Utilizing distributed continuous variable Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state, this protocol can implement both quantum cryptographic conference and quantum secret sharing. We analyze the security of the protocol against both entangling cloner attack and coherent attack. Entangling cloner attack is a practical individual attack, and coherent attack is the optimal attack Eve can implement. Simulation results show that coherent attack can greatly reduce the secret key rate. Different kinds of entangled attacks are compared and we finally discuss the optimal coherent attacks.
