$\ell$-adic Tautological Systems

Tautological systems was introduced in Lian-Yau as the system of differential equations satisfied by period integrals of hyperplane sections of some complex projective homogenous varieties. We introduce the $\ell$-adic tautological systems for the case where the ground field is of characteristic $p$.

A note on Integral Satake isomorphisms

We formulate a Satake isomorphism for the integral spherical Hecke algebra of an unramified $p$-adic group $G$ and generalize the formulation to give a description of the Hecke algebra $H_G(V)$ of weight $V$, where $V$ is a lattice in an irreducible algebraic representation of $G$.

Bessel $F$-isocrystals for reductive groups

We construct the Frobenius structure on a rigid connection $\mathrm{Be}_{\check{G}}$ on $\mathbb{G}_m$ for a split reductive group $\check{G}$ introduced by Frenkel-Gross. These data form a $\check{G}$-valued overconvergent $F$-isocrystal $\mathrm{Be}_{\check{G}}^{\dagger}$ on $\mathbb{G}_{m,\mathbb{F}_p}$, which is the $p$-adic companion of the Kloosterman $\check{G}$-local system $\mathrm{Kl}_{\check{G}}$ constructed by Heinloth-Ngô-Yun. By exploring the structure of the underlying differential equation, we calculate the monodromy group of $\mathrm{Be}_{\check{G}}^{\dagger}$ when $\check{G}$ is almost simple (which recovers the calculation of monodromy group of $\mathrm{Kl}_{\check{G}}$ due to Katz and Heinloth-Ngô-Yun), and establish functoriality between different Kloosterman $\check{G}$-local systems as conjectured by Heinloth-Ngô-Yun. We show that the Frobenius Newton polygons of $\mathrm{Kl}_{\check{G}}$ are generically ordinary for every $\check{G}$ and are everywhere ordinary on $|\mathbb{G}_{m,\mathbb{F}_p}|$ when $\check{G}$ is classical or $G_2$.

Décomposition au-dessus des paramètres de Langlands elliptiques

We prove that, over any elliptic global Langlands parameter $σ$, the cuspidal cohomology groups of moduli stacks of shtukas are given by a formula involving a finite dimensional representation of the centralizer of $σ$. It is a first step in the direction of Arthur-Kottwitz conjectures.

Cycles on Shimura varieties via geometric Satake

We construct (cohomological) correspondences between mod $p$ fibers of different Shimura varieties and describe the fibers of these correspondences by studying irreducible components of affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties. In particular, in the case of correspondences from a Shimura set to a Shimura variety, we obtain a description of the basic Newton stratum of the latter, and show that the irreducible components of the basic Newton stratum generate all the Tate classes in the middle cohomology of the Shimura variety, under a certain genericity condition. Along the way, we also determine the set of irreducible components of the affine Deligne-Lusztig variety associated to an unramified twisted conjugacy class.

Geometric Langlands in prime characteristic

Let $G$ be a semisimple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field $k$, whose characteristic is positive and does not divide the order of the Weyl group of $G$, and let $\breve G$ be its Langlands dual group over $k$. Let $C$ be a smooth projective curve over $k$. Denote by $\Bun_G$ the moduli stack of $G$-bundles on $C$ and $ \Loc_{\breve G}$ the moduli stack of $\breve G$-local systems on $C$. Let $D_{\Bun_G}$ be the sheaf of crystalline differential operators on $\Bun_G$. In this paper we construct an equivalence between the bounded derived category $D^b(\on{QCoh}(\Loc_{\breve G}^0))$ of quasi-coherent sheaves on some open subset $\Loc_{\breve G}^0\subset\Loc_{\breve G}$ and bounded derived category $D^b(D_{\Bun_G}^0\on{-mod})$ of modules over some localization $D_{\Bun_G}^0$ of $D_{\Bun_G}$. This generalizes the work of Bezrukavnikov-Braverman in the $\GL_n$ case.

Affine Grassmannians and the geometric Satake in mixed characteristic

We endow the set of lattices in Q_p^n with a reasonable algebro-geometric structure. As a result, we prove the representability of affine Grassmannians and establish the geometric Satake correspondence in mixed characteristic. We also give an application of our theory to the study of Rapoport-Zink spaces.

Rigidity and a Riemann-Hilbert correspondence for p-adic local systems

We construct a functor from the category of p-adic etale local systems on a smooth rigid analytic variety X over a p-adic field to the category of vector bundles with an integrable connection over its "base change to B_dR", which can be regarded as a first step towards the sought-after p-adic Riemann-Hilbert correspondence. As a consequence, we obtain the following rigidity theorem for p-adic local systems on a connected rigid analytic variety: if the stalk of such a local system at one point, regarded as a p-adic Galois representation, is de Rham in the sense of Fontaine, then the stalk at every point is de Rham. Along the way, we also establish some basic properties of the p-adic Simpson correspondence. Finally, we give an application of our results to Shimura varieties.

Non-abelian Hodge theory for algebraic curves in characteristic p

Let G be a reductive group over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic. Let C be a smooth projective curve over k. We give a description of the moduli space of flat G-bundles in terms of the moduli space of G-Higgs bundles over the Frobenius twist C' of C. This description can be regarded as the non-abelian Hodge theory for curves in positive characteristic.

Chain Integral Solutions to Tautological Systems

We give a new geometrical interpretation of the local analytic solutions to a differential system, which we call a tautological system $τ$, arising from the universal family of Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces $Y_a$ in a $G$-variety $X$ of dimension $n$. First, we construct a natural topological correspondence between relative cycles in $H_n(X-Y_a,\cup D-Y_a)$ bounded by the union of $G$-invariant divisors $\cup D$ in $X$ to the solution sheaf of $τ$, in the form of chain integrals. Applying this to a toric variety with torus action, we show that in addition to the period integrals over cycles in $Y_a$, the new chain integrals generate the full solution sheaf of a GKZ system. This extends an earlier result for hypersurfaces in a projective homogeneous variety, whereby the chains are cycles. In light of this result, the mixed Hodge structure of the solution sheaf is now seen as the MHS of $H_n(X-Y_a,\cup D-Y_a)$. In addition, we generalize the result on chain integral solutions to the case of general type hypersurfaces. This chain integral correspondence can also be seen as the Riemann-Hilbert correspondence in one homological degree. Finally, we consider interesting cases in which the chain integral correspondence possibly fails to be bijective.

Period Integrals and the Riemann-Hilbert Correspondence

A tautological system, introduced in [16][17], arises as a regular holonomic system of partial differential equations that govern the period integrals of a family of complete intersections in a complex manifold $X$, equipped with a suitable Lie group action. A geometric formula for the holonomic rank of such a system was conjectured in [4], and was verified for the case of projective homogeneous space under an assumption. In this paper, we prove this conjecture in full generality. By means of the Riemann-Hilbert correspondence and Fourier transforms, we also generalize the rank formula to an arbitrary projective manifold with a group action.

The two-dimensional Contou-Carrère symbol and reciprocity laws

We define a two-dimensional Contou-Carrère symbol, which is a deformation of the two-dimensional tame symbol and is a natural generalization of the (usual) one-dimensional Contou-Carrère symbol. We give several constructions of this symbol and investigate its properties. Using higher categorical methods, we prove reciprocity laws on algebraic surfaces for this symbol. We relate also the two-dimensional Contou-Carrère symbol with the two-dimensional class field theory.

On the coherence conjecture of Pappas and Rapoport

We prove the (generalized) coherence conjecture of Pappas and Rapoport. As a corollary, one theorem of Pappas an Rapoport, which describes the geometry of the special fibers of the local models for ramified unitary groups, holds unconditionally. Our proof is based on the study of the geometry (in particular certain line bundles and $\ell$-adic sheaves) of the global Schubert varieties, which are the (generalized) equal characteristic counterparts of the local models.

The Geometric Satake Correspondence for Ramified Groups

We prove the geometrical Satake isomorphism for a reductive group defined over F=k((t)), and split over a tamely ramified extension. As an application, we give a description of the nearby cycles on certain Shimura varieties via the Rapoport-Zink-Pappas local models.
