Density Limit Experiments and Core-localized Kinetic MHD Activities in HL-2A Ohmic Heating Plasmas

The density limit is a mysterious barrier to magnetic confinement nuclear fusion, and is still an unresolved issue. In this paper, we will present the experimental results of the density limit and core-localized kinetic MHD instabilities on HL-2A. Firstly, the high density shots with $ne/ne_G>1$ have been achieved by the conventional gas-puff fuelling method in Ohmic heating plasmas, and the corresponding duration time is close to $t\sim500$ ms ($\sim$ $30τ_E$), where $τ_E$ is the global energy confinement time. Secondly, it is found for the first time that there are kinetic MHD instabilities in the core plasmas while $ne/ne_G\sim1$. The analysis suggests that the core-localized MHD activities belong to Alfv{é}nic ion temperature gradient (AITG) modes or kinetic ballooning modes (KBM), and firstly it is found on experiment that they trigger the minor or major disruption of bulk plasmas while the density profile is peaked. These new findings are of great importance to figure out and understand the origin of the density limit.

Phenomenological study on the decay widths of $Υ(nS)\rightarrow \bar{d}^{\ast}(2380)+X$

The decay widths of $Υ(nS)$ $\rightarrow$ $\bar{d}^{\ast}(2380)+X$ with $n=1,2,3$ are studied in a phenomenological way. With the help of crossing symmetry, the decay widths are obtained by investigating the imaginary part of the forward scattering amplitudes between $d^\ast$ and $Υ(nS)$. The wave functions of $d^\ast$ and deuteron obtained in previous studies are used for calculating the amplitude. The interaction between $d^{\ast}$ ($d$) and $Υ$ is governed by the quark-meson interaction where the coupling constant is determined by fitting the observed widths of $Υ(nS)$ $\rightarrow$ $\bar{d}+X$. The numerical results show that the decay widths of $Υ(nS)$ $\rightarrow$ $\bar{d}^{\ast}+X$ are about $2 - 10$ times smaller than that of $\bar{d}+X$. The calculated momentum of $\bar{d^*}$ is in the range $0.3-0.8$ GeV. Therefore, it is very likely that one can find $\bar{d}^\ast(2380)$ in these semi-inclusive decay processes.

Understanding the structure of $d^*(2380)$ in chiral quark model

The structure and decay properties of $d^*$ have been detailedly investigated in both the chiral SU(3) quark model and the extended chiral SU(3) quark model that describe the energies of baryon ground states and the nucleon-nucleon (NN) scattering data satisfactorily. By performing a dynamical coupled-channels study of the system of $ΔΔ$ and hidden-color channel (CC) with quantum numbers $I(J^P)=0(3^+)$ in the framework of the resonating group method (RGM), we find that the $d^*$ has a mass of about $2.38-2.42$ GeV and a root-mean-square radius (RMS) of about $0.76-0.88$ fm. The channel wave function is extracted by a projection of the RGM wave function onto the physical basis, and the fraction of CC component in the $d^*$ is found to be about $66\%-68\%$, which indicates that the $d^*$ is a hexaquark-dominated exotic state. Based on this scenario the partial decay widths of $d^*\to d π^0 π^0$ and $d^*\to d π^+π^-$ are further explicitly evaluated and the total width is then obtained by use of the branching ratios extracted from the measured cross sections of other possible decay channels. Both the mass and the decay width of $d^*$ calculated in this work are compatible with the data ($M\approx 2380$ MeV, $Γ\approx 70$ MeV) reported by WASA-at-COSY Collaboration.

Possible $D\bar{D}$ and $B\bar{B}$ Molecular states in a chiral quark model

We perform a systematic study of the bound state problem of $D\bar{D}$ and $B\bar{B}$ systems by using effective interaction in our chiral quark model. Our results show that both the interactions of $D\bar{D}$ and $B\bar{B}$ states are attractive, which consequently result in $I^G(J^{PC})=0^+(0^{++})$ $D\bar{D}$ and $B\bar{B}$ bound states.

$Z_b(10650)$ and $Z_b(10610)$ states in a chiral quark model

We perform a systematic study of $B\bar{B}^*$, $B^*\bar{B}^*$, $D\bar{D}^*$ and $D^*\bar{D}^*$ systems by using effective interaction in our chiral quark model. Our results show that the interactions of $B\bar{B}^*$, $B^*\bar{B}^*$, $D\bar{D}^*$ and $D^*\bar{D}^*$ states are attractive, which consequently result in $B\bar{B}^*$, $B^*\bar{B}^*$, $D\bar{D}^*$ and $D^*\bar{D}^*$ bound states. The recent observed exotic-like hadrons of $Z_b(10610)$ and $Z_b(10650)$ are, therefore in our approach, interpreted as loosely bound states of $B\bar{B}^*$ and $B^*\bar{B}^*$, while X(3872) and Y(3940) are $D\bar{D}^*$ and $D^*\bar{D}^*$ molecule states, respectively.

RQM description of PS meson form factors, constraints from space-time translations, and underlying dynamics

The role of Poincaré covariant space-time translations is investigated in the case of the pseudoscalar-meson charge form factors. It is shown that this role extends beyond the standard energy-momentum conservation, which is accounted for in all relativistic quantum mechanics calculations. It implies constraints that have been largely ignored until now but should be fulfilled to ensure the full Poincaré covariance. The violation of these constraints, which is more or less important depending on the form of relativistic quantum mechanics that is employed, points to the validity of using a single-particle current, which is generally assumed in calculations of form factors. In short, these constraints concern the relation of the momentum transferred to the constituents to the one transferred to the system. How to account for the related constraints, as well as restoring the equivalence of different relativistic quantum mechanics approaches in estimating form factors, is discussed. Some conclusions relative to the underlying dynamics are given in the pion case.

Form factors in relativistic quantum mechanics: constraints from space-time translations

The comparison of form factors calculated from a single-particle current in different relativistic quantum mechanic approaches evidences tremendous discrepancies. The role of constraints coming from space-time translations is considered here with this respect. It is known that invariance under these translations implies the energy-momentum conservation relation that is usually assumed to hold globally. Transformations of the current under these translations, which lead to this result, also imply constraints that have been ignored so far in relativistic quantum mechanic approaches. An implementation of these constraints is discussed in the case of a model with two scalar constituents. It amounts to incorporate selected two-body currents to all orders in the interaction. Discrepancies for form factors in different approaches can thus be removed, contributing to restore the equivalence of different approaches. Results for the standard front-form approach ($q^+=0$) are found to fulfill the constraints and are therefore unchanged. The relation with results from a dispersion-relation approach is also made.

Two-Photon Exchange Contribution to Proton Form Factors in Time-Like region

We estimate two-photon exchange contribution to the process $e^+ +e^- \to p + \bar{p}$. The two-photon exchange corrections to double spin polarization observables and form factors in the time-like region are calculated. The corrections are found to be small in magnitude, but with a strong angular dependence at fixed momentum transfer. These two features are the same as those in the space-like region. In the view of experiment, the double spin polarization observable $P_z$ deserves to be considered.

Target mass corrections and twist-3 in the nucleon spin structure functions

The Nachtmann moment is employed to study the contribution of twist-3 operator to the nucleon spin structure functions. Target mass corrections to the Cornwall-Norton moments of the spin structure functions $g_{1,2}$ are discussed. It is found that the corrections play a sizeable role to the contribution of the twist-3 $\tilde d_2$ extracted from the Cornwall-Norton moments.
