Polynomial representations of classical Lie algebras and flag varieties

Recently we have started a program to describe the action of Lie algebras associated with Dynkin-type diagrams on generic Verma modules in terms of polynomial vector fields. In this paper we explain that the results for the classical ABCD series of Lie algebras coincide with the more conventional approach, based on the knowledge of the entire algebra, not only the simple roots. We apply the coset description, starting with a large representation and then reducing it with the help of the algebra, commuting with the original one. The irreducible representations are then obtained by gauge fixing this residual symmetry.

Irreducible representations of simple Lie algebras by differential operators

We describe a systematic method to construct arbitrary highest-weight modules, including arbitrary finite-dimensional representations, for any finite dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. The Lie algebra generators are represented as first order differential operators in $\frac{1}{2} \left(\dim \mathfrak{g} - \text{rank} \, \mathfrak{g}\right) $ variables. All rising generators ${\bf e}$ are universal in the sense that they do not depend on representation, the weights enter (in a very simple way) only in the expressions for the lowering operators ${\bf f}$. We present explicit formulas of this kind for the simple root generators of all classical Lie algebras.

Duality in elliptic Ruijsenaars system and elliptic symmetric functions

We demonstrate that the symmetric elliptic polynomials $E_λ(x)$ originally discovered in the study of generalized Noumi-Shiraishi functions are eigenfunctions of the elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider (eRS) Hamiltonians that act on the mother function variable $y_i$ (substitute of the Young-diagram variable $λ$). This means they are eigenfunctions of the dual eRS system. At the same time, their orthogonal complements in the Schur scalar product, $P_R(x)$ are eigenfunctions of the elliptic reduction of the Koroteev-Shakirov (KS) Hamiltonians. This means that these latter are related to the dual eRS Hamiltonians by a somewhat mysterious orthogonality transformation, which is well defined only on the full space of time variables, while the coordinates $x_i$ appear only after the Miwa transform. This observation explains the difficulties with getting the apparently self-dual Hamiltonians from the double elliptic version of the KS Hamiltonians.

The MacMahon R-matrix

We introduce an $R$-matrix acting on the tensor product of MacMahon representations of Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra $U_{q,t}(\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_1)$. This $R$-matrix acts on pairs of $3d$ Young diagrams and retains the nice symmetry of the DIM algebra under the permutation of three deformation parameters $q$, $t^{-1}$ and $\frac{t}{q}$. We construct the intertwining operator for a tensor product of the horizontal Fock representation and the vertical MacMahon representation and show that the intertwiners are permuted using the MacMahon $R$-matrix.

$(q,t)$-KZ equations for quantum toroidal algebra and Nekrasov partition functions on ALE spaces

We describe the general strategy for lifting the Wess-Zumino-Witten model from the level of one-loop Kac-Moody $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{g}})_k$ to generic quantum toroidal algebras. A nearly exhaustive presentation is given for the two series $U_{q,t}(\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_1)$ and $U_{q,t}(\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_n)$, when screenings do not exist and thus all the correlators are purely algebraic, i.e. do not include additional hypergeometric type integrations/summations. Generalizing the construction of the intertwiner (refined topological vertex) of the Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra, we obtain the intertwining operators of the Fock representations of the quantum toroidal algebra of type $A_n$. The correlation functions of these operators satisfy the $(q,t)$-Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov (KZ) equation, which features the ${\cal R}$-matrix. Matching with the Nekrasov function for the instanton counting on the ALE space is worked out explicitly. We also present an important application of the DIM formalism to the study of $6d$ gauge theories described by the double elliptic integrable systems. We show that the modular and periodicity properties of the gauge theories are neatly explained by the network matrix models providing solutions to the elliptic $(q,t)$-KZ equations.

Anomaly in RTT relation for DIM algebra and network matrix models

We discuss the recent proposal of arXiv:1608.05351 about generalization of the RTT relation to network matrix models. We show that the RTT relation in these models is modified by a nontrivial, but essentially abelian anomaly cocycle, which we explicitly evaluate for the free field representations of the quantum toroidal algebra. This cocycle is responsible for the braiding, which permutes the external legs in the q-deformed conformal block and its 5d/6d gauge theory counterpart, i.e. the non-perturbative Nekrasov functions. Thus, it defines their modular properties and symmetry. We show how to cancel the anomaly using a construction somewhat similar to the anomaly matching condition in gauge theory. We also describe the singular limit to the affine Yangian (4d Nekrasov functions), which breaks the spectral duality.

Ding-Iohara-Miki symmetry of network matrix models

Ward identities in the most general "network matrix model" can be described in terms of the Ding-Iohara-Miki algebras (DIM). This confirms an expectation that such algebras and their various limits/reductions are the relevant substitutes/deformations of the Virasoro/W-algebra for (q, t) and (q_1, q_2, q_3) deformed network matrix models. Exhaustive for these purposes should be the Pagoda triple-affine elliptic DIM, which corresponds to networks associated with 6d gauge theories with adjoint matter (double elliptic systems). We provide some details on elliptic qq-characters.

Spectral duality in elliptic systems, six-dimensional gauge theories and topological strings

We consider Dotsenko-Fateev matrix models associated with compactified Calabi-Yau threefolds. They can be constructed with the help of explicit expressions for refined topological vertex, i.e. are directly related to the corresponding topological string amplitudes. We describe a correspondence between these amplitudes, elliptic and affine type Selberg integrals and gauge theories in five and six dimensions with various matter content. We show that the theories of this type are connected by spectral dualities, which can be also seen at the level of elliptic Seiberg-Witten integrable systems. The most interesting are the spectral duality between the XYZ spin chain and the Ruijsenaars system, which is further lifted to self-duality of the double elliptic system.

On elementary proof of AGT relations from six dimensions

The actual definition of the Nekrasov functions participating in the AGT relations implies a peculiar choice of contours in the LMNS and Dotsenko-Fateev integrals. Once made explicit and applied to the original triply-deformed (6-dimensional) version of these integrals, this approach reduces the AGT relations to symmetry in q_{1,2,3}, which is just an elementary identity for an appropriate choice of the integration contour (which is, however, a little non-traditional). We illustrate this idea with the simplest example of N=(1,1) U(1) SYM in six dimensions, however, all other cases can be evidently considered in a completely similar way.

Decomposing Nekrasov Decomposition

AGT relations imply that the four-point conformal block admits a decomposition into a sum over pairs of Young diagrams of essentially rational Nekrasov functions - this is immediately seen when conformal block is represented in the form of a matrix model. However, the q-deformation of the same block has a deeper decomposition - into a sum over a quadruple of Young diagrams of a product of four topological vertices. We analyze the interplay between these two decompositions, their properties and their generalization to multi-point conformal blocks. In the latter case we explain how Dotsenko-Fateev all-with-all (star) pair "interaction" is reduced to the quiver model nearest-neighbor (chain) one. We give new identities for q-Selberg averages of pairs of generalized Macdonald polynomials. We also translate the slicing invariance of refined topological strings into the language of conformal blocks and interpret it as abelianization of generalized Macdonald polynomials.

Spectral dualities in XXZ spin chains and five dimensional gauge theories

Motivated by recent progress in the study of supersymmetric gauge theories we propose a very compact formulation of spectral duality between XXZ spin chains. The action of the quantum duality is given by the Fourier transform in the spectral parameter. We investigate the duality in various limits and, in particular, prove it for q-->1, i.e. when it reduces to the XXX/Gaudin duality. We also show that the universal difference operators are given by the normal ordering of the classical spectral curves.

Spectral Duality Between Heisenberg Chain and Gaudin Model

In our recent paper we described relationships between integrable systems inspired by the AGT conjecture. On the gauge theory side an integrable spin chain naturally emerges while on the conformal field theory side one obtains some special reduced Gaudin model. Two types of integrable systems were shown to be related by the spectral duality. In this paper we extend the spectral duality to the case of higher spin chains. It is proved that the N-site GL(k) Heisenberg chain is dual to the special reduced k+2-points gl(N) Gaudin model. Moreover, we construct an explicit Poisson map between the models at the classical level by performing the Dirac reduction procedure and applying the AHH duality transformation.

Spectral Duality in Integrable Systems from AGT Conjecture

We describe relationships between integrable systems with N degrees of freedom arising from the AGT conjecture. Namely, we prove the equivalence (spectral duality) between the N-cite Heisenberg spin chain and a reduced gl(N) Gaudin model both at classical and quantum level. The former one appears on the gauge theory side of the AGT relation in the Nekrasov-Shatashvili (and further the Seiberg-Witten) limit while the latter one is natural on the CFT side. At the classical level, the duality transformation relates the Seiberg-Witten differentials and spectral curves via a bispectral involution. The quantum duality extends this to the equivalence of the corresponding Baxter-Schrodinger equations (quantum spectral curves). This equivalence generalizes both the spectral self-duality between the 2x2 and NxN representations of the Toda chain and the famous AHH duality.
