${\bar{B}^{0}_{s}}$ and its excited meson production via top quark decays at the LHC

In this work we evaluate the masses of the $|(b\bar{s})[n]\rangle$ or $|(\bar{b}s)[n]\rangle$ quarkonium ($\bar{B}^{0}_{s}$ or ${B}^{0}_{s}$ meson) under the B.T. potential, and the values of the Schr${\rm \ddot{o}}$dinger radial wave function at the origin of the $|(b\bar{s})[n]\rangle$ or $|(\bar{b}s)[n]\rangle$ quarkonium within the five potential models. Then we investigate a systematic study on the production of the $|(b\bar{s})[n]\rangle$ or $|(\bar{b}s)[n]\rangle$ quarkonium via top quark or antitop quark decays in the color-singlet QCD factorization formula (CSQCDFF), i.e., the two $S$-wave states, $|(b\bar{s})[1^1S_0] \rangle$ (or $|(\bar{b}s)[1^1S_0] \rangle$) and $|(b\bar{s})[1^3S_1] \rangle$ (or $|(\bar{b}s)[1^3S_1] \rangle$), and its four $P$-wave excited states, $|(b\bar{s})[1^1P_1] \rangle$ (or $|(\bar{b}s)[1^1P_1] \rangle$) and $|(b\bar{s})[1^3P_J] \rangle$ (or $|(\bar{b}s)[1^3P_J] \rangle$) (with $J =[0, 1, 2]$). For deriving compact analytical results for complex processes, the "improved trace technology" is adopted to deal with the decay channels at the amplitudes. Moreover, various differential distributions and uncertainties of the concerned processes are analyzed carefully. By adding the uncertainties caused by the ${b}$ and ${s}$-quark masses in quadrature, we obtain $Γ{(t\to |(b\bar{s})[n]\rangle +W^{+}s)}=14.19^{+4.36}_{-3.20}$~MeV. At the LHC with the luminosity ${\cal L}\propto 10^{34}cm^{-2}s^{-1}$ and the center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{S}=14$ TeV, sizable $|(b\bar{s})[n]\rangle$ or $|(\bar{b}s)[n]\rangle$ meson events can be produced through ${t}$-quark or ${\bar{t}}$-quark decays; i.e., about $1.3~\times10^6$ ${\bar{B}^0_s}$ or ${B^0_s}$ events per year can be obtained.

On the positivity of the logarithmic cotangent bundle

The aim of this work is to construct examples of pairs whose logarithmic cotangent bundles have strong positivity properties. These examples are constructed from any smooth n-dimensional complex projective varieties by considering the sum of at least n general sufficiently ample hypersurfaces.

Applications of the Ohsawa-Takegoshi Extension Theorem to Direct Image Problems

In the first part of the paper, we study a Fujita-type conjecture by Popa and Schnell, and give an effective bound on the generic global generation of the direct image of the twisted pluricanonical bundle. We also point out the relation between the Seshadri constant and the optimal bound. In the second part, we give an affirmative answer to a question by Demailly-Peternell-Schneider in a more general setting. As an application, we generalize the theorems by Fujino and Gongyo on images of weak Fano manifolds to the Kawamata log terminal cases, and refine a result by Broustet and Pacienza on the rational connectedness of the image.

Ultra-low Power Nanoelectromechanical Memory Based on Location-controllable Nanogap System

Nanogap engineering of low-dimensional nanomaterials, has received considerable interest in a variety of fields, ranging from molecular electronics to memories. Creating nanogaps at a certain position is of vital importance for the repeatable fabrication of the devices. In this work, we report a rational design of non-volatile memories based on sub-5 nm nanogaped single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) via the electromechanical motion. The nanogaps are readily realized by electroburning in a partially suspended SWNTs device with nanoscale region. The SWNT memory devices are applicable for both metallic and semiconducting SWNTs, resolving the challenge of separation of semiconducting SWNTs from metallic ones. Meanwhile, the memory devices exhibit excellent performance: ultra-low writing energy (4.1*10-19 J per bit), ON/OFF ratio of 105, stable switching ON operations and over 30 hours retention time in ambient conditions, which are of great potential for applications.

Effectivity in the Hyperbolicity-related problems

The aim of this work is to deal with effective questions related to the Kobayashi and Debarre conjectures, and based on the work of Damian Brotbek and Lionel Darondeau. We first show that if a line bundle $L$ generates $k$-jets, the $k$-th Wronskian ideal sheaf associated with global sections of $L$ reaches its largest possible value. Then we obtain an effective estimate for a weaker version of a theorem of Nakamaye on certain universal Grassmannians. We finally derive from this explicit effective bounds for the Kobayashi and Debarre conjectures.

Degeneracy of entire curves into higher dimensional complex manifolds

Pursuing McQuillan's philosophy in proving the Green-Griffiths conjecture for certain surfaces of general type, we deal with the algebraic degeneracy of entire curves tangent to holomorphic foliations by curves. Inspired by the recent work of Paun and Sibony, we study the intersection of Ahlfors current with the tangent bundle of the foliation, and derive some consequences. In particular, we introduce the definition of weakly reduced singularities for foliations by curves, which requires less work than the exact classification for foliations. Finally we discuss the strategy to prove the Green-Griffiths conjecture for complex surfaces.

Excited Heavy Quarkonium Production via Z^0 Decays at a High Luminosity Collider

We present a systematic study of the production of the heavy quarkonium, i.e., $|(c\bar{c})[n] \rangle$ , $|(b\bar{c})[n] \rangle$ (or $|(c\bar{b})[n] \rangle$), and $|(b\bar{b})[n] \rangle$ quarkonium [$|(Q\bar{Q'})[n]\rangle$ quarkonium for short], through $Z^0$ boson semi-exclusive decays with new parameters \cite{lx} for the heavy quarkonium under the framework of the NRQCD, where $[n]$ stands for $n^1S_0$, $n^3S_1$, $n^1P_0$, $n^3P_J$ ($n=1, \cdots, 6$; $J=(0, 1, 2)$). "Improved trace technology" is adopted to derive the simplified analytic expressions at the amplitude level, which shall be useful for dealing with these decay channels. If all higher $|(Q\bar{Q'})[n]\rangle$ quarkonium states decay to the ground state $|(Q\bar{Q'})[1^1S_0]\rangle$ with $100\%$ efficiency via electromagnetic or hadronic interactions, we obtain $Γ{(Z^0\to |(c\bar{c})[1^1S_0]\rangle)}=1476$ KeV, $Γ{(Z^0\to |(b\bar{c})[1^1S_0]\rangle)}=1485$ KeV, $Γ{(Z^0\to |(b\bar{b})[1^1S_0]\rangle)}=127.5$ KeV. At the LHC and ILC with the luminosity ${\cal L}\propto 10^{34}cm^{-2}s^{-1}$, sizable heavy quarkonium events can be produced through $Z^0$ boson decays, i.e., about $5.9~\times10^{5}$ $(c\bar{c})$, $6.0~\times10^{5}$ $(b\bar{c})$ (or $(c\bar{b})$), $5.1~\times10^{4}$ $(b\bar{b})$ events per year can be obtained.

Transcendental Morse Inequality and Generalized Okounkov Bodies

The main goal of this article is to construct "arithmetic Okounkov bodies" for an arbitrary pseudo-effective (1,1)-class $α$ on a Kähler manifold. Firstly, using Boucksom's divisorial Zariski decompositions for pseudo-effective (1,1)-classes on compact Kähler manifolds, we prove the differentiability of volumes of big classes for Kähler manifolds on which modified nef cones and nef cones coincide; this includes Kähler surfaces. We then apply our differentiability results to prove Demailly's transcendental Morse inequality for these particular classes of Kähler manifolds. In the second part, we construct the convex body $Δ(α)$ for any big class $α$ with respect to a fixed flag by using positive currents, and prove that this newly defined convex body coincides with the Okounkov body when $α\in {\rm NS}\_{\mathbb{R}}(X)$; such convex sets $Δ(α)$ will be called generalized Okounkov bodies. As an application we prove that any rational point in the interior of Okounkov bodies is "valuative". Next we give a complete characterisation of generalized Okounkov bodies on surfaces, and show that the generalized Okounkov bodies behave very similarly to original Okounkov bodies. By the differentiability formula, we can relate the standard Euclidean volume of $Δ(α)$ in $\mathbb{R}^2$ to the volume of a big class $α$, as defined by Boucksom; this solves a problem raised by Lazarsfeld in the case of surfaces. Finally, we study the behavior of the generalized Okounkov bodies on the boundary of the big cone, which are characterized by numerical dimension.

Schwarzschild-de Sitter Metric and Inertial Beltrami Coordinates

Under consideration of coordinate conditions, we get the Schwarzschild-Beltrami-de Sitter (S-BdS) metric solution of the Einstein field equations with a cosmological constant $Λ$. A brief review to the de Sitter invariant special relativity (dS-SR), and de Sitter general relativity (dS-GR, or GR with a $Λ$) is presented. The Beltrami metric $B_{μν}$ provides inertial reference frame for the dS-spacetime. By examining the Schwarzschild-de Sitter (S-dS) metric $g_{μν}^{(M)}$ existed in literatures since 1918, we find that the existed S-dS metric $g_{μν}^{(M)}$ describes some mixing effects of gravity and inertial-force, instead of a pure gravity effect arisen from "solar mass" $M$ in dS-GR. In this paper, we solve the vacuum Einstein equation of dS-GR, with the requirement of gravity-free metric $g_{μν}^{(M)}|_{M\rightarrow 0}=B_{μν}$. In this way we find S-BdS solution of dS-GR, written in inertial Beltrami coordinates. This is a new form of S-dS metric. Its physical meaning and possible applications are discussed.
