Solving an Interacting Quintessence Model with a Sound Horizon Initial Condition and its Observational Constraints

Astronomical observations suggest that the current standard $\Lambda$-Cold Dark Matter model in modern cosmology has some discrepancies when fitting the data during the whole expansion history of the universe. To solve the Hubble constant ($H_0$) tension, usually an unknown mechanism is considered that shifts the sound horizon at the decoupling era. On the other hand, dynamical dark energy models are also considered to resolve the problems of the cosmological constant, and the additional degrees of freedom require initial conditions for a solution. In this article we have considered a coupled quintessence dark energy model with a special focus on its early-time behaviour. In our solution the initial conditions are naturally decided by setting the value of the sound horizon at the recombination time, $\theta^*$. We find that during this process, $H_0$ could be derived and its value rises with the coupling strength of the interaction. We also performed the background and cosmic microwave background power spectrum analysis, and find that the existence of the interaction term affects the energy density during a narrow time interval range and shifts the early cosmic microwave background spectrum. We also constrained the parameter space of the underlying scenario using the markov chain monte carlo analysis. We find that the best-fit values of $H_0$ and $S_8$ are improved slightly for the interacting model, but not enough to release the tensions.

Hadamard Attention Recurrent Transformer: A Strong Baseline for Stereo Matching Transformer

Constrained by the low-rank bottleneck inherent in attention mechanisms, current stereo matching transformers suffer from limited nonlinear expressivity, which renders their feature representations sensitive to challenging conditions such as reflections. To overcome this difficulty, we present the Hadamard Attention Recurrent Stereo Transformer (HART). HART includes a novel attention mechanism that incorporates the following components: 1) The Dense Attention Kernel (DAK) maps the attention weight distribution into a high-dimensional space over (0, +$\infty$). By removing the upper bound constraint on attention weights, DAK enables more flexible modeling of complex feature interactions. This reduces feature collinearity. 2) The Multi Kernel & Order Interaction (MKOI) module extends the attention mechanism by unifying semantic and spatial knowledge learning. This integration improves the ability of HART to learn features in binocular images. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our HART. In reflective area, HART ranked 1st on the KITTI 2012 benchmark among all published methods at the time of submission. Code is available at https://github.com/ZYangChen/HART.

Constraints from High-Precision Measurements of the Cosmic Microwave Background: The Case of Disintegrating Dark Matter with $Λ$ or Dynamical Dark Energy

In recent years discrepancies have emerged in measurements of the present-day rate of expansion of the universe $H_0$ and in estimates of the clustering of matter $S_8$. Using the most recent cosmological observations we reexamine a novel model proposed to address these tensions, in which cold dark matter disintegrates into dark radiation. The disintegration process is controlled by its rate $Q = α\mathcal{H} ρ_{\rm ddm}$, where $α$ is a (constant) dimensionless parameter quantifying the strength of the disintegration mechanism and $\mathcal{H}$ is the conformal Hubble rate in the spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker universe and $ρ_{\rm ddm}$ is the energy density of the disintegrating cold dark matter. We constrain this model with the latest 2018 Planck temperature and polarization data, showing that there is no evidence for $α\neq 0$ and that it cannot solve the $H_0$ tension below $3σ$, clashing with the result obtained by analyzing the Planck 2015 temperature data. We also investigate two possible extensions of the model in which the dark energy equation-of-state parameter $w \neq -1$. In this case it is possible to combine Planck data with the SH0ES measurement, and we demonstrate that in both these models the $H_0$ tension is resolved at the $1σ$ level, but the condition $w \neq -1$ exacerbates the $S_8$ tension. We also demonstrate that the addition of intermediate-redshift data (from the Pantheon supernova type Ia dataset and baryon acoustic oscillations) weakens the effectiveness of all these models to address the $H_0$ and $S_8$ tensions.

Dynamical dark energy after Planck CMB final release and $H_0$ tension

In this article we compare a variety of well known dynamical dark energy models using the cosmic microwave background measurements from the 2018 Planck legacy and 2015 Planck data releases, the baryon acoustic oscillations measurements and the local measurements of $H_0$ obtained by the SH0ES (Supernovae, $H_0$, for the Equation of State of Dark energy) collaboration analysing the Hubble Space Telescope data. We discuss the alleviation of $H_0$ tension, that is obtained at the price of a phantom-like dark energy equation of state. We perform a Bayesian evidence analysis to quantify the improvement of the fit, finding that all the dark energy models considered in this work are preferred against the $Λ$CDM scenario. Finally, among all the possibilities analyzed, the CPL model is the best one in fitting the data and solving the $H_0$ tension at the same time. However, unfortunately, this dynamical dark energy solution is not supported by the baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) data, and the tension is restored when BAO data are included for all the models.

Observational constraints of a new unified dark fluid and the $H_0$ tension

Unified cosmological models have received a lot of attention in astrophysics community for explaining both the dark matter and dark energy evolution. The Chaplygin cosmologies, a well known name in this group have been investigated matched with observations from different sources. Obviously, Chaplygin cosmologies have to obey restrictions in order to be consistent with the observational data. As a consequence, alternative unified models, differing from Chaplygin model, are of special interest. In the present work we consider a specific example of such a unified cosmological model, that is quantified by only a single parameter $μ$, that can be considered as a minimal extension of the $Λ$-cold dark matter cosmology. We investigate its observational boundaries together with an analysis of the universe at large scale. Our study shows that at early time the model behaves like a dust, and as time evolves, it mimics a dark energy fluid depicting a clear transition from the early decelerating phase to the late cosmic accelerating phase. Finally, the model approaches the cosmological constant boundary in an asymptotic manner. We remark that for the present unified model, the estimations of $H_0$ are slightly higher than its local estimation and thus alleviating the $H_0$ tension.

The generalized Brans-Dicke theory and its cosmology

A generalized Brans-Dicke (GBD) theory is proposed and studied in this paper. The interesting property has been found in the GBD theory, for example it can naturally solve the problem of γvalue emerging in f(R) modified gravity without introducing the so-called chameleon mechanism. In addition, it can be found that the GBD theory could solve some problems existing in other theories. (1) The $f(R)$ theory is equivalent to the BD theory with a potential (abbreviated as BDV) for taking a specific value of the BD parameter ω=0, where the specific choice: ω=0 is quite exceptional, and it is hard to understand the corresponding absence of the kinetic-energy term for the field. However, fields in the GBD own the non-disappeared dynamical effect. (2) In the double scalar-fields quintom model, it is required to include both the canonical quintessence field and the non-canonical phantom field in order to make the state parameter to cross over w=-1, while several fundamental problems are associated with phantom field, such as the problem of negative kinetic term and the fine-tuning problem, etc. While, in the GBD model, the state parameter of geometrical dark energy can cross over the phantom boundary as achieved in the quintom model, without bearing the problems existing in the quintom model. (3) The GBD theory tends to investigate the physics from the viewpoint of geometry, while the BDV or the two scalar-fields quintom model tends to solve physical problems from the viewpoint of matter. It is possible that several special characteristics of scalar fields could be revealed through studies of geometrical gravity in the GBD. As an example, we investigate the potential V of the BD scalar field, and an effective form of V could be given by studying on the GBD theory. And, it seems that a viable condition for the BD theory could be found.

Cosmic constraint on massive neutrinos in viable f(R) gravity with producing LCDM background expansion

Tensions between several cosmic observations were found recently, such as the inconsistent values of $H_{0}$ (or $σ_{8}$) were indicated by the different cosmic observations. Introducing the massive neutrinos in $Λ$CDM could potentially solve the tensions. Viable $f(R)$ gravity producing $Λ$CDM background expansion with massive neutrinos is investigated in this paper. We fit the current observational data: Planck-2015 CMB, RSD, BAO and SNIa to constrain the mass of neutrinos in viable $f(R)$ theory. The constraint results at 95\% confidence level are: $Σm_ν<0.202$ eV for the active neutrino case, $m_{ν, sterile}^{eff}<0.757$ eV with $N_{eff}<3.22$ for the sterile neutrino case. For the effects by the mass of neutrinos, the constraint results on model parameter at 95\% confidence level become $f_{R0}\times 10^{-6}> -1.89$ and $f_{R0}\times 10^{-6}> -2.02$ for two cases, respectively. It is also shown that the fitting values of several parameters much depend on the neutrino properties, such as the cold dark matter density, the cosmological quantities at matter-radiation equality, the neutrino density and the fraction of baryonic mass in helium. At last, the constraint result shows that the tension between direct and CMB measurements of $H_0$ gets slightly weaker in the viable $f(R)$ model than that in the base $Λ$CDM model.

Cosmological constraints on coupled dark energy

The coupled dark energy model provides a possible approach to mitigate the coincidence problem of cosmological standard model. Here, the coupling term is assumed as $\bar{Q}=3Hξ_x\barρ_x$, which is related to the interaction rate and energy density of dark energy. We derive the background and perturbation evolution equations for several coupled models. Then, we test these models by currently available cosmic observations which include cosmic microwave background radiation from Planck 2015, baryon acoustic oscillation, type Ia supernovae, $fσ_8(z)$ data points from redshift-space distortions, and weak gravitational lensing. The constraint results tell us there is no evidence of interaction at 2$σ$ level, it is very hard to distinguish different coupled models from other ones.

Cosmic constraint on the unified model of dark sectors with or without a cosmic string fluid in the varying gravitational constant theory

Observations indicate that most of the universal matter are invisible and the gravitational constant $G(t)$ maybe depends on the time. A theory of the variational $G$ (VG) is explored in this paper, with naturally producing the useful dark components in universe. We utilize the observational data: lookback time data, model-independent gamma ray bursts, growth function of matter linear perturbations, type Ia supernovae data with systematic errors, CMB and BAO to restrict the unified model (UM) of dark components in VG theory. Using the best-fit values of parameters with the covariance matrix, constraints on the variation of $G$ are $(\frac{G}{G_{0}})_{z=3.5}\simeq 1.0015^{+0.0071}_{-0.0075}$ and $(\frac{\dot{G}}{G})_{today}\simeq -0.7252^{+2.3645}_{-2.3645}\times 10^{-13} yr^{-1}$, the small uncertainties around constants. Limit on the equation of state of dark matter is $w_{0dm}=0.0072^{+0.0170}_{-0.0170}$ with assuming $w_{0de}=-1$ in unified model, and dark energy is $w_{0de}=-0.9986^{+0.0011}_{-0.0011}$ with assuming $w_{0dm}=0$ at prior. Restriction on UM parameters are $B_{s}=0.7442^{+0.0137+0.0262}_{-0.0132-0.0292}$ and $α=0.0002^{+0.0206+0.0441}_{-0.0209-0.0422}$ with $1σ$ and $2σ$ confidence level. In addition, the effect of a cosmic string fluid on unified model in VG theory are investigated. In this case it is found that the $Λ$CDM ($Ω_{s}=0$, $β=0$ and $α=0$) is included in this VG-UM model at $1σ$ confidence level, and the larger errors are given: $Ω_{s}=-0.0106^{+0.0312+0.0582}_{-0.0305-0.0509}$ (dimensionless energy density of cosmic string), $(\frac{G}{G_{0}})_{z=3.5}\simeq 1.0008^{+0.0620}_{-0.0584}$ and $(\frac{\dot{G}}{G})_{today}\simeq -0.3496^{+26.3135}_{-26.3135}\times 10^{-13}yr^{-1}$.

Reduced modified Chaplygin gas cosmology

In this paper, we study cosmologies containing the reduced modified Chaplygin gas (RMCG) fluid which is reduced from the modified Chaplygin gas $p=Aρ-Bρ^{-α}$ for the value of $α=-1/2$. In this special case, dark cosmological models can be realized for different values of model parameter $A$. We investigate the viabilities of these dark cosmological models by discussing the evolutions of cosmological quantities and using the currently available cosmic observations. It is shown that the special RMCG model ($A=0$ or $A=1$) which unifies the dark matter and dark energy should be abandoned. For $A=1/3$, RMCG which unifies the dark energy and dark radiation is the favorite model according to the objective Akaike information criteria. In the case of $A<0$, RMCG can achieve the features of the dynamical quintessence and phantom models, where the evolution of the universe is not sensitive to the variation of model parameters.

Constraints on a decomposed dark fluid with constant adiabatic sound speed by jointing the geometry test and growth rate after Planck data

In this paper, a unified dark fluid with constant adiabatic sound speed is decomposed into cold dark matter interacting with vacuum energy. Based on Markov chain Monte Carlo method, we constrain this model by jointing the geometry and dynamical measurement. The geometry test includes cosmic microwave background radiation from \textit{Planck}, baryon acoustic oscillation, and type Ia supernovae; the dynamic measurement is $fσ_8(z)$ data points which is obtained from the growth rate via redshift-space distortion, and $σ_8(z)$ is the root-mean-square amplitude of the density contrast $δ$ at the comoving $8h^{-1}$ Mpc scale. The jointed constraint shows that $α$ = $ 0.000662_{- 0.000662}^{+ 0.000173}$ and $σ_8$ = $ 0.824_{- 0.0166}^{+ 0.0128}$. The CMB and matter power spectra are both similar for the case of $α=$ mean value and that of $α=0$. However, the evolutionary curves of $fσ_8(z)$ are different. This means that, to some extent, the data points of the growth rate could break the degeneracy of the dark energy models.

Reconstruction of new holographic scalar field models of dark energy in Brans-Dicke Universe

Motivated by the work [K. Karami, J. Fehri, {\it Phys. Lett. B} {\bf 684}, 61 (2010)] and [A. Sheykhi, {\it Phys. Lett. B} {\bf 681}, 205 (2009)], we generalize their work to the new holographic dark energy model with $ρ_D=\frac{3ϕ^2}{4ω}(μH^2+ν\dot{H})$ in the framework of Brans-Dicke cosmology. Concretely, we study the correspondence between the quintessence, tachyon, K-essence, dilaton scalar field and Chaplygin gas model with the new holographic dark energy model in the non-flat Brans-Dicke universe. Furthermore, we reconstruct the potentials and dynamics for these models. By analysis we can show that for new holographic quintessence and Chaplygin gas models, if the related parameters to the potentials satisfy some constraints, the accelerated expansion can be achieved in Brans-Dicke cosmology. Especially the counterparts of fields and potentials in general relativity can describe accelerated expansion of the universe. It is worth stressing that not only can we give some new results in the framework of Brans-Dicke cosmology, but also the previous results of the new holographic dark energy in Einstein gravity can be included as special cases given by us.

Self-gravitational Interaction in z = 4 Horava-Lifshitz Gravity

Motivated by recent works [1,2], the influences of self-gravitational interaction on the Hawking radiation are studied both for (3 + 1) and (4 + 1) dimensional black holes in $z = 4$ Hourava-Lifshitz gravity. It is found that the tunneling entropies $S_{B(3 + 1)}$ and $S_{B(4 + 1)}$ independent on particle's mass are consistent with the thermodynamical entropies $S_{BH(3 + 1)}$ and $S_{BH(4 + 1)}$, respectively. There is a very visible degree of uniformity between thermodynamics and quantum tunneling in $z = 4$ Hourava-Lifshitz gravity. It suggests that the entropies contained corrected terms could be explained well by the self-gravitational interaction of Hawking radiation. The study of tunneling process may shed light on understanding the Hourava-Lifshitz gravity.

Investigate the interaction between dark matter and dark energy

In this paper we investigate the interaction between dark matter and dark energy by considering two different interacting scenarios, i.e. the cases of constant interaction function and variable interaction function. By fitting the current observational data to constrain the interacting models, it is found that the interacting strength is non-vanishing, but weak for the case of constant interaction function, and the interaction is not obvious for the case of variable interaction function. In addition, for seeing the influence from interaction we also investigate the evolutions of interaction function, effective state parameter for dark energy and energy density of dark matter. At last some geometrical quantities in the interacting scenarios are discussed.

Cosmological constraints on the generalized holographic dark energy

We use the Markov ChainMonte Carlo method to investigate global constraints on the generalized holographic (GH) dark energy with flat and non-flat universe from the current observed data: the Union2 dataset of type supernovae Ia (SNIa), high-redshift Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs), the observational Hubble data (OHD), the cluster X-ray gas mass fraction, the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO), and the cosmic microwave background (CMB) data. The most stringent constraints on the GH model parameter are obtained. In addition, it is found that the equation of state for this generalized holographic dark energy can cross over the phantom boundary wde =-1.

Time variable cosmological constant of holographic origin with interaction in Brans-Dicke theory

Time variable cosmological constant (TVCC) of holographic origin with interaction in Brans-Dicke theory is discussed in this paper. We investigate some characters for this model, and show the evolutions of deceleration parameter and equation of state (EOS) for dark energy. It is shown that in this scenario an accelerating universe can be obtained and the evolution of EOS for dark energy can cross over the boundary of phantom divide. In addition, a geometrical diagnostic method, jerk parameter is applied to this model to distinguish it with cosmological constant.

Does accelerating universe indicates Brans-Dicke theory

The evolution of universe in Brans-Dicke (BD) theory is discussed in this paper. Considering a parameterized scenario for BD scalar field $ϕ=ϕ_{0}a^α$ which plays the role of gravitational "constant" $G$, we apply the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method to investigate a global constraints on BD theory with a self-interacting potential according to the current observational data: Union2 dataset of type supernovae Ia (SNIa), high-redshift Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) data, observational Hubble data (OHD), the cluster X-ray gas mass fraction, the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO), and the cosmic microwave background (CMB) data. It is shown that an expanded universe from deceleration to acceleration is given in this theory, and the constraint results of dimensionless matter density $Ω_{0m}$ and parameter $α$ are, $Ω_{0m}=0.286^{+0.037+0.050}_{-0.039-0.047}$ and $α=0.0046^{+0.0149+0.0171}_{-0.0171-0.0206}$ which is consistent with the result of current experiment exploration, $\midα\mid \leq 0.132124$. In addition, we use the geometrical diagnostic method, jerk parameter $j$, to distinguish the BD theory and cosmological constant model in Einstein's theory of general relativity.

Combined constraints on modified Chaplygin gas model from cosmological observed data: Markov Chain Monte Carlo approach

We use the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method to investigate a global constraints on the modified Chaplygin gas (MCG) model as the unification of dark matter and dark energy from the latest observational data: the Union2 dataset of type supernovae Ia (SNIa), the observational Hubble data (OHD), the cluster X-ray gas mass fraction, the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO), and the cosmic microwave background (CMB) data. In a flat universe, the constraint results for MCG model are, $Ω_{b}h^{2}=0.02263^{+0.00184}_{-0.00162}$ ($1σ$) $^{+0.00213}_{-0.00195}$ $(2σ)$, $B_{s}=0.7788^{+0.0736}_{-0.0723}$ ($1σ$) $^{+0.0918}_{-0.0904}$ $(2σ)$, $α=0.1079^{+0.3397}_{-0.2539}$ ($1σ$) $^{+0.4678}_{-0.2911}$ $(2σ)$, $B=0.00189^{+0.00583}_{-0.00756}$ ($1σ$) $^{+0.00660}_{-0.00915}$ $(2σ)$, and $H_{0}=70.711^{+4.188}_{-3.142}$ ($1σ$) $^{+5.281}_{-4.149}$ $(2σ)$.
