Spin entanglement signatures of proton from a light-front Hamiltonian

Quantum entanglement provides a quantitative probe of the internal structure of hadrons and offers a sensitive means to study the quantum correlation in the hadron wave functions. For baryons, the spin state of the three valence quarks forms a tripartite qubit system, whose entanglement structure can be characterized by the four classes of three-qubit states. In this work, we compare the proton spin entanglement obtained from Basis Light-Front Quantization (BLFQ) with that from a quark-diquark model. By analyzing both bipartite and tripartite entanglement, we find that the quark-diquark model yields a substantially more entangled spin state than the BLFQ wave function in the valence Fock sector. This difference mainly originates from the larger W-type and Bell-type entanglement in the quark-diquark model. Within BLFQ, larger stronger coupling constant and smaller quark mass drive the spin correlation among the valence quarks towards an effective quark-diquark configuration with an active $d$ quark and a correlated $uu$ pair.

Quantum steering and discord in hyperon-antihyperon system in electron-positron annihilation

Hyperon-antihyperon pairs produced in high-energy electron-positron annihilation are promising systems for the study of quantum information properties. In this work, we make an analysis of two types of quantum correlations, the quantum steering and discord, in hyperon-antihyperon systems produced in electron-positron annihilation based on the $X$-shaped spin density matrix. The behaviors of these quantum correlations differ from those in elementary particle-antiparticle systems such as the top quark and tau lepton due to the polarization effect. The hierarchy of quantum correlations is examined and partially confirmed in hyperon-antihyperon systems: $ \textrm{Bell Nonlocality} \subset \textrm{Steering} \subset \textrm{Entanglement} \subset \text{Discord}$. The loopholes and quantum decoherence effect are also discussed in our work.

Quark and gluon entanglement in the proton based on a light-front Hamiltonian

Given that the wave function of a proton can be derived relativistically and nonperturbatively from a light-front quantized Hamiltonian, investigating the quantum correlation between quarks and gluons offers a novel perspective on the internal structure of partons within a proton. In this work, we address this topic by computing the spin and longitudinal momentum entanglement of each parton inside the proton. The utilized wave functions are generated using Basis Light-front Quantization (BLFQ), incorporating both the valence quarks and one dynamical gluon Fock sectors, $\left|qqq\right\rangle$ and $\left|qqq\right\rangle +\left|qqqg\right\rangle$. Our calculations indicate that the dynamical gluon significantly enhances entanglement among the proton's partons. Additionally, we examine the spin entanglement of quarks and gluons at fixed values of longitudinal momentum fraction, revealing that the presence of a gluon may amplify the informational exchanges between quarks. Finally, these findings suggest the potential for experimental verification of the entanglement between partons by measuring parton helicity distributions in the proton.

Generalized quantum measurement in spin-correlated hyperon-antihyperon decays

The rapid developments of Quantum Information Science (QIS) have opened up new avenues for exploring fundamental physics. Quantum nonlocality, a key aspect for distinguishing quantum information from classical one, has undergone extensive examinations in particles' decays through the violation of Bell-type inequalities. Despite these advancements, a comprehensive framework based on quantum information theory for particle interaction is still lacking. Trying to close this gap, we introduce a generalized quantum measurement description for decay processes of spin-1/2 hyperons. We validate this approach by aligning it with established theoretical calculations and apply it to the joint decay of correlated $Λ\barΛ$ pairs. We employ quantum simulation to observe the violation of CHSH inequalities in hyperon decays. Our generalized measurement description is adaptable and can be extended to a variety of high energy processes, including decays of vector mesons, $J/ψ,ψ(2S)\rightarrowΛ\barΛ$, in the Beijing Spectrometer III (BESIII) experiment at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC). The methodology developed in this study can be applied to quantum correlation and information processing in fundamental interactions.

Chandrasekhar-Kendall-Woltjer-Taylor state in a resistive plasma

We give a criterion for the Chandrasekhar-Kendall-Woltjer-Taylor (CKWT) state in a resistive plasma. We find that the lowest momentum (longest wavelength) of the initial helicity amplitudes of magnetic fields are the key to the CKWT state which can be reached if one helicity is favored over the other. This indicates that the imbalance between two helicities at the lowest momentum or longest wavelength in the initial conditions is essential to the CKWT state. A few examples of initial conditions for helicity amplitudes are taken to support the above statement both analytically and numerically.

Class of Bell-Clauser-Horne inequalities for testing quantum nonlocality

Quantum nonlocality, one of the most important features of quantum mechanics, is normally connected in experiments with the violation of Bell-Clauser-Horne (Bell-CH) inequalities. We propose effective methods for the rearrangement and linear inequality to prove a large variety of Bell-CH inequalities. We also derive a set of Bell-CH inequalities by using these methods which can be violated in some quantum entangled states.
