VINS-120K: Ultra High-Resolution Image Editing with A Large-Scale Dataset

Directly editing ultra-high-resolution (UHR) images is valuable but underexplored, primarily due to the lack of high-quality data and the challenge in modeling high-frequency texture details. We introduce VINS-120K, the first large-scale dataset for instruction-based UHR image editing, comprising 120K carefully curated triplets of instruction, input image, and edited image. Each image exceeds 4K resolution ($\geq$4096 $\times$ 4096) and is filtered through a rigorous multi-stage pipeline to ensure visual quality, instruction alignment, and aesthetic fidelity. Built on VINS-120K, we further develop a high-frequency-aware post-adaptation strategy to extend pretrained non-high-resolution models to the UHR regime. We also present VINS-4KEval, a benchmark covering diverse editing types, to facilitate consistent evaluation in UHR settings. Experiments confirm that our work improves fine-grained detail synthesis and texture realism in UHR image editing.

RaPD: Resolution-Agnostic Pixel Diffusion via Semantics-Enriched Implicit Representations

Natural images are continuous, yet most generative models synthesize them on discrete grids, limiting resolution-flexible generation. Continuous neural fields enable resolution-free rendering, but prior methods introduce continuity only at the decoding stage as an interpolation module, leaving the generative latent space discretized and reconstruction-oriented. We propose RaPD (Resolution-agnostic Pixel Diffusion), which performs diffusion in a continuous Neural Image Field (NIF) latent space. RaPD bridges this reconstruction-generation gap with Semantic Representation Guidance for generation-aware latent learning and a Coordinate-Queried Attention Renderer for coordinate-conditioned, scale-aware rendering. A single denoised latent can be rendered at arbitrary resolutions by changing only the query coordinates, keeping diffusion cost fixed. Experiments demonstrate superior generation quality and resolution scalability.

Octopus: History-Free Gradient Orthogonalization for Continual Learning in Multimodal Large Language Models

Continual learning in multimodal large language models (MLLMs) aims to sequentially acquire knowledge while mitigating catastrophic forgetting, yet existing methods face inherent limitations: architecture-based approaches incur additional computational overhead and often generalize poorly to new tasks, rehearsal-based methods rely on storing historical data, raising privacy and storage concerns, and conventional regularization-based strategies alone are insufficient to fully prevent parameter interference. We propose Octopus, a two-stage continual learning framework based on History-Free Gradient Orthogonalization (HiFGO), which enforces gradient-level orthogonality without historical task data. Our proposed two-stage finetuning strategy decouples task adaptation from regularization, achieving a principled balance between plasticity and stability. Experiments on UCIT show that Octopus establishes state-of-the-art performance, surpassing prior SOTA by 2.14% and 6.82% in terms of Avg and Last.

ACE-LoRA: Adaptive Orthogonal Decoupling for Continual Image Editing

State-of-the-art diffusion models often rely on parameter-efficient fine-tuning to perform specialized image editing tasks. However, real-world applications require continual adaptation to new tasks while preserving previously learned knowledge. Despite the practical necessity, continual learning for image editing remains largely underexplored. We propose ACE-LoRA, a dynamic regularization framework for continual image editing that effectively mitigates catastrophic forgetting. ACE-LoRA leverages Adaptive Orthogonal Decoupling to identify and orthogonalize task interference, and introduces a Rank-Invariant Historical Information Compression strategy to address scalability issues in continual updates. To facilitate continual learning in image editing and provide a standardized evaluation protocol, we introduce CIE-Bench, the first comprehensive benchmark in this domain. CIE-Bench encompasses diverse and practically relevant image editing scenarios with a balanced level of difficulty to effectively expose limitations of existing models while remaining compatible with parameter-efficient fine-tuning. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms existing baselines in terms of instruction fidelity, visual realism, and robustness to forgetting, establishing a strong foundation for continual learning in image editing.

Guiding a Diffusion Model by Swapping Its Tokens

Classifier-Free Guidance (CFG) is a widely used inference-time technique to boost the image quality of diffusion models. Yet, its reliance on text conditions prevents its use in unconditional generation. We propose a simple method to enable CFG-like guidance for both conditional and unconditional generation. The key idea is to generate a perturbed prediction via simple token swap operations, and use the direction between it and the clean prediction to steer sampling towards higher-fidelity distributions. In practice, we swap pairs of most semantically dissimilar token latents in either spatial or channel dimensions. Unlike existing methods that apply perturbation in a global or less constrained manner, our approach selectively exchanges and recomposes token latents, allowing finer control over perturbation and its influence on generated samples. Experiments on MS-COCO 2014, MS-COCO 2017, and ImageNet datasets demonstrate that the proposed Self-Swap Guidance (SSG), when applied to popular diffusion models, outperforms previous condition-free methods in image fidelity and prompt alignment under different set-ups. Its fine-grained perturbation granularity also improves robustness, reducing side-effects across a wider range of perturbation strengths. Overall, SSG extends CFG to a broader scope of applications including both conditional and unconditional generation, and can be readily inserted into any diffusion model as a plug-in to gain immediate improvements.

UltraHR-100K: Enhancing UHR Image Synthesis with A Large-Scale High-Quality Dataset

Ultra-high-resolution (UHR) text-to-image (T2I) generation has seen notable progress. However, two key challenges remain : 1) the absence of a large-scale high-quality UHR T2I dataset, and (2) the neglect of tailored training strategies for fine-grained detail synthesis in UHR scenarios. To tackle the first challenge, we introduce \textbf{UltraHR-100K}, a high-quality dataset of 100K UHR images with rich captions, offering diverse content and strong visual fidelity. Each image exceeds 3K resolution and is rigorously curated based on detail richness, content complexity, and aesthetic quality. To tackle the second challenge, we propose a frequency-aware post-training method that enhances fine-detail generation in T2I diffusion models. Specifically, we design (i) \textit{Detail-Oriented Timestep Sampling (DOTS)} to focus learning on detail-critical denoising steps, and (ii) \textit{Soft-Weighting Frequency Regularization (SWFR)}, which leverages Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) to softly constrain frequency components, encouraging high-frequency detail preservation. Extensive experiments on our proposed UltraHR-eval4K benchmarks demonstrate that our approach significantly improves the fine-grained detail quality and overall fidelity of UHR image generation. NeoWorld: Neural Simulation of Explorable Virtual Worlds via Progressive 3D Unfolding

We introduce NeoWorld, a deep learning framework for generating interactive 3D virtual worlds from a single input image. Inspired by the on-demand worldbuilding concept in the science fiction novel Simulacron-3 (1964), our system constructs expansive environments where only the regions actively explored by the user are rendered with high visual realism through object-centric 3D representations. Unlike previous approaches that rely on global world generation or 2D hallucination, NeoWorld models key foreground objects in full 3D, while synthesizing backgrounds and non-interacted regions in 2D to ensure efficiency. This hybrid scene structure, implemented with cutting-edge representation learning and object-to-3D techniques, enables flexible viewpoint manipulation and physically plausible scene animation, allowing users to control object appearance and dynamics using natural language commands. As users interact with the environment, the virtual world progressively unfolds with increasing 3D detail, delivering a dynamic, immersive, and visually coherent exploration experience. NeoWorld significantly outperforms existing 2D and depth-layered 2.5D methods on the WorldScore benchmark.

Describe, Don't Dictate: Semantic Image Editing with Natural Language Intent

Despite the progress in text-to-image generation, semantic image editing remains a challenge. Inversion-based algorithms unavoidably introduce reconstruction errors, while instruction-based models mainly suffer from limited dataset quality and scale. To address these problems, we propose a descriptive-prompt-based editing framework, named DescriptiveEdit. The core idea is to re-frame `instruction-based image editing' as `reference-image-based text-to-image generation', which preserves the generative power of well-trained Text-to-Image models without architectural modifications or inversion. Specifically, taking the reference image and a prompt as input, we introduce a Cross-Attentive UNet, which newly adds attention bridges to inject reference image features into the prompt-to-edit-image generation process. Owing to its text-to-image nature, DescriptiveEdit overcomes limitations in instruction dataset quality, integrates seamlessly with ControlNet, IP-Adapter, and other extensions, and is more scalable. Experiments on the Emu Edit benchmark show it improves editing accuracy and consistency.

HiFiVFS: High Fidelity Video Face Swapping

Face swapping aims to generate results that combine the identity from the source with attributes from the target. Existing methods primarily focus on image-based face swapping. When processing videos, each frame is handled independently, making it difficult to ensure temporal stability. From a model perspective, face swapping is gradually shifting from generative adversarial networks (GANs) to diffusion models (DMs), as DMs have been shown to possess stronger generative capabilities. Current diffusion-based approaches often employ inpainting techniques, which struggle to preserve fine-grained attributes like lighting and makeup. To address these challenges, we propose a high fidelity video face swapping (HiFiVFS) framework, which leverages the strong generative capability and temporal prior of Stable Video Diffusion (SVD). We build a fine-grained attribute module to extract identity-disentangled and fine-grained attribute features through identity desensitization and adversarial learning. Additionally, We introduce detailed identity injection to further enhance identity similarity. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) in video face swapping, both qualitatively and quantitatively.

HybridBooth: Hybrid Prompt Inversion for Efficient Subject-Driven Generation

Recent advancements in text-to-image diffusion models have shown remarkable creative capabilities with textual prompts, but generating personalized instances based on specific subjects, known as subject-driven generation, remains challenging. To tackle this issue, we present a new hybrid framework called HybridBooth, which merges the benefits of optimization-based and direct-regression methods. HybridBooth operates in two stages: the Word Embedding Probe, which generates a robust initial word embedding using a fine-tuned encoder, and the Word Embedding Refinement, which further adapts the encoder to specific subject images by optimizing key parameters. This approach allows for effective and fast inversion of visual concepts into textual embedding, even from a single image, while maintaining the model's generalization capabilities.

Neural Material Adaptor for Visual Grounding of Intrinsic Dynamics

While humans effortlessly discern intrinsic dynamics and adapt to new scenarios, modern AI systems often struggle. Current methods for visual grounding of dynamics either use pure neural-network-based simulators (black box), which may violate physical laws, or traditional physical simulators (white box), which rely on expert-defined equations that may not fully capture actual dynamics. We propose the Neural Material Adaptor (NeuMA), which integrates existing physical laws with learned corrections, facilitating accurate learning of actual dynamics while maintaining the generalizability and interpretability of physical priors. Additionally, we propose Particle-GS, a particle-driven 3D Gaussian Splatting variant that bridges simulation and observed images, allowing back-propagate image gradients to optimize the simulator. Comprehensive experiments on various dynamics in terms of grounded particle accuracy, dynamic rendering quality, and generalization ability demonstrate that NeuMA can accurately capture intrinsic dynamics.

PostEdit: Posterior Sampling for Efficient Zero-Shot Image Editing

In the field of image editing, three core challenges persist: controllability, background preservation, and efficiency. Inversion-based methods rely on time-consuming optimization to preserve the features of the initial images, which results in low efficiency due to the requirement for extensive network inference. Conversely, inversion-free methods lack theoretical support for background similarity, as they circumvent the issue of maintaining initial features to achieve efficiency. As a consequence, none of these methods can achieve both high efficiency and background consistency. To tackle the challenges and the aforementioned disadvantages, we introduce PostEdit, a method that incorporates a posterior scheme to govern the diffusion sampling process. Specifically, a corresponding measurement term related to both the initial features and Langevin dynamics is introduced to optimize the estimated image generated by the given target prompt. Extensive experimental results indicate that the proposed PostEdit achieves state-of-the-art editing performance while accurately preserving unedited regions. Furthermore, the method is both inversion- and training-free, necessitating approximately 1.5 seconds and 18 GB of GPU memory to generate high-quality results.

MambaGesture: Enhancing Co-Speech Gesture Generation with Mamba and Disentangled Multi-Modality Fusion

Co-speech gesture generation is crucial for producing synchronized and realistic human gestures that accompany speech, enhancing the animation of lifelike avatars in virtual environments. While diffusion models have shown impressive capabilities, current approaches often overlook a wide range of modalities and their interactions, resulting in less dynamic and contextually varied gestures. To address these challenges, we present MambaGesture, a novel framework integrating a Mamba-based attention block, MambaAttn, with a multi-modality feature fusion module, SEAD. The MambaAttn block combines the sequential data processing strengths of the Mamba model with the contextual richness of attention mechanisms, enhancing the temporal coherence of generated gestures. SEAD adeptly fuses audio, text, style, and emotion modalities, employing disentanglement to deepen the fusion process and yield gestures with greater realism and diversity. Our approach, rigorously evaluated on the multi-modal BEAT dataset, demonstrates significant improvements in Fr\'echet Gesture Distance (FGD), diversity scores, and beat alignment, achieving state-of-the-art performance in co-speech gesture generation. RealTalk: Real-time and Realistic Audio-driven Face Generation with 3D Facial Prior-guided Identity Alignment Network

Person-generic audio-driven face generation is a challenging task in computer vision. Previous methods have achieved remarkable progress in audio-visual synchronization, but there is still a significant gap between current results and practical applications. The challenges are two-fold: 1) Preserving unique individual traits for achieving high-precision lip synchronization. 2) Generating high-quality facial renderings in real-time performance. In this paper, we propose a novel generalized audio-driven framework RealTalk, which consists of an audio-to-expression transformer and a high-fidelity expression-to-face renderer. In the first component, we consider both identity and intra-personal variation features related to speaking lip movements. By incorporating cross-modal attention on the enriched facial priors, we can effectively align lip movements with audio, thus attaining greater precision in expression prediction. In the second component, we design a lightweight facial identity alignment (FIA) module which includes a lip-shape control structure and a face texture reference structure. This novel design allows us to generate fine details in real-time, without depending on sophisticated and inefficient feature alignment modules. Our experimental results, both quantitative and qualitative, on public datasets demonstrate the clear advantages of our method in terms of lip-speech synchronization and generation quality. Furthermore, our method is efficient and requires fewer computational resources, making it well-suited to meet the needs of practical applications.

Face Adapter for Pre-Trained Diffusion Models with Fine-Grained ID and Attribute Control

Current face reenactment and swapping methods mainly rely on GAN frameworks, but recent focus has shifted to pre-trained diffusion models for their superior generation capabilities. However, training these models is resource-intensive, and the results have not yet achieved satisfactory performance levels. To address this issue, we introduce Face-Adapter, an efficient and effective adapter designed for high-precision and high-fidelity face editing for pre-trained diffusion models. We observe that both face reenactment/swapping tasks essentially involve combinations of target structure, ID and attribute. We aim to sufficiently decouple the control of these factors to achieve both tasks in one model. Specifically, our method contains: 1) A Spatial Condition Generator that provides precise landmarks and background; 2) A Plug-and-play Identity Encoder that transfers face embeddings to the text space by a transformer decoder. 3) An Attribute Controller that integrates spatial conditions and detailed attributes. Face-Adapter achieves comparable or even superior performance in terms of motion control precision, ID retention capability, and generation quality compared to fully fine-tuned face reenactment/swapping models. Additionally, Face-Adapter seamlessly integrates with various StableDiffusion models.

DiffFAE: Advancing High-fidelity One-shot Facial Appearance Editing with Space-sensitive Customization and Semantic Preservation

Facial Appearance Editing (FAE) aims to modify physical attributes, such as pose, expression and lighting, of human facial images while preserving attributes like identity and background, showing great importance in photograph. In spite of the great progress in this area, current researches generally meet three challenges: low generation fidelity, poor attribute preservation, and inefficient inference. To overcome above challenges, this paper presents DiffFAE, a one-stage and highly-efficient diffusion-based framework tailored for high-fidelity FAE. For high-fidelity query attributes transfer, we adopt Space-sensitive Physical Customization (SPC), which ensures the fidelity and generalization ability by utilizing rendering texture derived from 3D Morphable Model (3DMM). In order to preserve source attributes, we introduce the Region-responsive Semantic Composition (RSC). This module is guided to learn decoupled source-regarding features, thereby better preserving the identity and alleviating artifacts from non-facial attributes such as hair, clothes, and background. We further introduce a consistency regularization for our pipeline to enhance editing controllability by leveraging prior knowledge in the attention matrices of diffusion model. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of DiffFAE over existing methods, achieving state-of-the-art performance in facial appearance editing.

A Generalist FaceX via Learning Unified Facial Representation

This work presents FaceX framework, a novel facial generalist model capable of handling diverse facial tasks simultaneously. To achieve this goal, we initially formulate a unified facial representation for a broad spectrum of facial editing tasks, which macroscopically decomposes a face into fundamental identity, intra-personal variation, and environmental factors. Based on this, we introduce Facial Omni-Representation Decomposing (FORD) for seamless manipulation of various facial components, microscopically decomposing the core aspects of most facial editing tasks. Furthermore, by leveraging the prior of a pretrained StableDiffusion (SD) to enhance generation quality and accelerate training, we design Facial Omni-Representation Steering (FORS) to first assemble unified facial representations and then effectively steer the SD-aware generation process by the efficient Facial Representation Controller (FRC). %Without any additional features, Our versatile FaceX achieves competitive performance compared to elaborate task-specific models on popular facial editing tasks. Full codes and models will be available at https://github.com/diffusion-facex/FaceX.

Learning to Aggregate and Personalize 3D Face from In-the-Wild Photo Collection

Non-parametric face modeling aims to reconstruct 3D face only from images without shape assumptions. While plausible facial details are predicted, the models tend to over-depend on local color appearance and suffer from ambiguous noise. To address such problem, this paper presents a novel Learning to Aggregate and Personalize (LAP) framework for unsupervised robust 3D face modeling. Instead of using controlled environment, the proposed method implicitly disentangles ID-consistent and scene-specific face from unconstrained photo set. Specifically, to learn ID-consistent face, LAP adaptively aggregates intrinsic face factors of an identity based on a novel curriculum learning approach with relaxed consistency loss. To adapt the face for a personalized scene, we propose a novel attribute-refining network to modify ID-consistent face with target attribute and details. Based on the proposed method, we make unsupervised 3D face modeling benefit from meaningful image facial structure and possibly higher resolutions. Extensive experiments on benchmarks show LAP recovers superior or competitive face shape and texture, compared with state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods with or without prior and supervision.
