Generalised Cluster Adjacency for Cosmology

In this paper we study the cluster algebraic properties of wavefunction coefficients for conformally coupled scalar theories in de Sitter cosmology. We show that the symbol of the wavefunction coefficient of the $n$-site path graph $P_n$ obeys a generalisation of cluster adjacency, where all letters in a given word belong to the same cluster of an $A_{2n-3}$ algebra, with certain additional constraints on the order of the letters. We call this property the ordered single cluster condition, and provide its physical interpretation. This condition is stronger than the usual cluster adjacency obeyed by neighbouring letters, and thereby constrains the symbol bootstrap far more tightly. We also show that for an arbitrary graph the alphabet carries a cluster-like structure, described by tubes and tubings on the graph, which allows for a similar bootstrap approach.

de Sitter Wavefunction from Quadrangular Polylogarithms: Chain Graphs

We present an explicit formula for the $n$-site chain graph contribution to the cosmological wavefunction for conformally coupled $ϕ^3$ theory in de Sitter space. Our result relies on the recent finding that the symbol of this function satisfies total compatibility with respect to the $A_{2n-2}$ cluster algebra, and that Rudenko's quadrangular polylogarithms provide, by construction, a complete basis for such functions. We prove our formula by directly relating a recursive set of differential equations satisfied by these wavefunction coefficients to a recursive coproduct formula for quadrangular polylogarithms.

Loops and legs: ABJM amplitudes from $f$-graphs

We initiate a systematic study on how to extract planar integrands of (supersymmetric) scattering amplitudes with $L$ loops and $n$ legs in Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory from the recently proposed (bosonic) generating function for squared amplitudes with $N:=n{+}L$ dual points; the latter enjoys a hidden permutation symmetry $S_N$ and is given by a linear combination of weight-$3$ planar $f$-graphs that can be recast as bipartite graphs, which manifest important properties of ABJM amplitudes. We provide evidence that it contains sufficient information to reconstruct individual amplitudes, despite the absence of squared amplitudes at odd loops. The extraction of the four-point amplitude is already non-trivial and closely parallels the extraction of five-point amplitudes in ${\cal N}=4$ super Yang-Mills (SYM) from weight-$4$ $f$-graphs: we comment on this similarity and provide new results for $n=4$ ABJM loop integrand up to $L=6$. For higher multiplicities, based on Yangian invariants (including BCFW building blocks for tree amplitudes) and an appropriate basis of planar dual conformal invariant(DCI) integrands, we disentangle six-point integrands up to two loops and eight-point tree amplitude from the squared amplitudes. Our results suggest that ABJM amplitudes of arbitrary multiplicity and loop order can be reconstructed from squared amplitudes, closely paralleling the role of $f$-graphs in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM.

Notes on conformal integrals: Coulomb branch amplitudes, magic identities and bootstrap

We study multi-loop conformal integrals for four-point correlators of planar ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory, and in particular those contributing to Coulomb branch amplitudes in the ten-dimensional lightlike limit, where linear combinations of such integrals are determined by the large R-charge octagons exactly known from integrability. Exploiting known results for integrands, we review those combinations of dual conformal invariant (DCI) integrals that must evaluate to determinants of ladders, generalizing the simplest cases of Basso-Dixon fishnet integrals; in this way, we summarize all-loop predictions for the integrands (which are extracted from $f$-graphs) contributing to components of Coulomb branch amplitudes, such as next-to-fishnet integrals. Moreover, this exercise produces new ``magic identities", {\it i.e.} certain combinations of DCI integrals equal zero, and we enumerate and simplify such identities up to six loops explicitly. On the other hand, most of these individual integrals have not been computed beyond three loops, and as a first step we consider a bootstrap program for DCI integrals based on their leading singularities and the space of pure functions. We bootstrap the $3$ non-trivial DCI integrals for four-loop Coulomb branch amplitudes (providing an independent verification of the four-loop magic identity), which all take remarkably simple form as weight-$8$ single-valued harmonic polylogarithms. We also compute all leading singularities and a large portion of the pure functions for the $34$ DCI integrals contributing to five-loop amplitudes, where not only some integrals evaluate to functions beyond harmonic polylogarithms but they also contain lower-weight pieces individually.

A Hidden Permutation Symmetry of Squared Amplitudes in ABJM Theory

We define the square amplitudes in planar Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena theory (ABJM), analogous to that in $\mathcal{N}{=}4$ super-Yang-Mills theory (SYM). Surprisingly, the $n$-point $L$-loop integrands with fixed $N{:=}n{+}L$ are unified in a single generating function. Similar to the SYM four-point half-BPS correlator integrand, the generating function enjoys a hidden $S_N$ permutation symmetry in the dual space, allowing us to write it as a linear combination of weight-3 planar $f$-graphs. Remarkably, through Gram identities it can also be represented as a linear combination of bipartite $f$-graphs which manifest the important property that no odd-multiplicity amplitude exists in the theory. The generating function and these properties are explicitly checked against squared amplitudes for all $n$ with $N{=}4,6,8$. By drawing analogies with SYM, we conjecture some graphical rules the generating function satisfy, and exploit them to bootstrap a unique $N{=}10$ result, which provides new results for $n{=}10$ squared tree amplitudes, as well as integrands for $(n,L){=}(4,6),(6,4)$. Our results strongly suggest the existence of a "bipartite correlator" in ABJM theory that unifies all squared amplitudes and satisfies physical constraints underlying these graphical rules.

The Cusp Limit of Correlators and A New Graphical Bootstrap for Correlators/Amplitudes to Eleven Loops

We consider the universal behavior of half-BPS correlators in $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills in the cusp limit where two consecutive separations $x_{12}^2,x_{23}^2$ become lightlike. Through the Lagrangian insertion procedure, the Sudakov double-logarithmic divergence of the $n$-point correlator is related to the $(n+1)$-point correlator where the inserted Lagrangian "pinches" to the soft-collinear region of the cusp. We formulate this constraint as a new graphical rulefor the $f$-graphs of the four-point correlator, which turns out to be the most constraining rule known so far. By exploiting this single graphical rule, we bootstrap the planar integrand of the four-point correlator up to ten loops ($n=14$) and fix all 22024902 but one coefficient at eleven loops ($n=15$); the remaining coefficient is then fixed using the triangle rule. We verify the "Catalan conjecture" for the coefficients of the family of $f$-graphs known as "anti-prisms" where the coefficient of the twelve-loop ($n=16$) anti-prism is found to be $-42$ by a local analysis of the bootstrap equations. We also comment on the implication of our graphical rule for the non-planar contributions.

From squared amplitudes to energy correlators

The leading order $N$-point energy correlators of maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in the limit where the $N$ detectors are collinear can be expressed as an integral of the $1\to N$ splitting function, which is given by the $(N{+}3)$-point squared super-amplitudes at tree level. This provides yet another example that the integrand of certain physical observable -- $N$-point energy correlator -- is computed by the canonical form of a positive geometry -- the (tree-level) "squared amplituhedron". By extracting such squared amplitudes from the $f$-graph construction, we compute the integrand of energy correlators up to $N=11$ and reveal new structures to all $N$; we also show important properties of the integrand such as soft and multi-collinear limits. Finally, we take a first look at integrations by studying possible residues of the integrand: our analysis shows that while this gives prefactors in front of multiple polylogarithm functions of $N=3,4$, the first unknown case of $N=5$ already involves elliptic polylogarithmic functions with many distinct elliptic curves, and more complicated curves and higher-dimensional varieties appear for $N>5$.

Differential equations and recursive solutions for cosmological amplitudes

Recently considerable efforts have been devoted to computing cosmological correlators and the corresponding wavefunction coefficients, as well as understanding their analytical structures. In this note, we revisit the computation of these ``cosmological amplitudes" associated with any tree or loop graph for conformal scalars with time-dependent interactions in the power-law FRW universe, directly in terms of iterated time integrals. We start by decomposing any such cosmological amplitude (for loop graph, the ``integrand" prior to loop integrations) as a linear combination of {\it basic time integrals}, one for each {\it directed graph}. We derive remarkably simple first-order differential equations involving such time integrals with edges ``contracted" one at a time, which can be solved recursively and the solution takes the form of Euler-Mellin integrals/generalized hypergeometric functions. By combining such equations, we then derive a complete system of differential equations for all time integrals needed for a given graph. Our method works for any graph: for a tree graph with $n$ nodes, this system can be transformed into the {\it canonical differential equations} of size $4^{n{-}1}$ quivalent to the graphic rules derived recently%so-called ``kinematic flow", and we also derive the system of differential equations for loop integrands {\it e.g.} of all-loop two-site graphs and one-loop $n$-gon graphs. Finally, we show how the differential equations truncate for the de Sitter (dS) case (in a way similar to differential equations for Feynman integrals truncate for integer dimensions), which immediately yields the complete symbol for the dS amplitude with interesting structures {\it e.g.} for $n$-site chains and $n$-gon cases.

One-loop Bern-Carrasco-Johansson Numerators on Quadratic Propagators from the Worldsheet

We introduce a novel approach for deriving one-loop Bern-Carrasco-Johansson (BCJ) numerators and reveal the worldsheet origin of the one-loop double copy. Our work shows that expanding Cachazo-He-Yuan half-integrands into generalized Parke-Taylor factors intrinsically generates BCJ numerators on quadratic propagators satisfying Jacobi identities. We validate our methodology by successfully reproducing one-loop BCJ numerators for Non-Linear Sigma Model as well as those of pure Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions with all-plus or single-minus helicities.

Emergent unitarity, all-loop cuts and integrations from the ABJM amplituhedron

We elaborate on aspects of a new positive geometry proposed recently, which was conjectured to be the four-point amplituhedron for ABJM theory. We study generalized unitarity cuts from the geometry, and in particular we prove that (1) the four-point integrand satisfies perturbative unitarity (or optical theorem) to all loops, which follows directly from the geometry, and (2) vanishing cuts involving odd-point amplitudes follow from the ``bipartite" nature of the associated ``negative geometries", which justifies their appearance in ABJM theory. We also take a first step in integrating the forms of these negative geometries and obtain an infrared-finite quantity up to two loops, from which we extract the cusp anomalous dimension at leading order.

All-Loop Four-Point Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena Amplitudes from Dimensional Reduction of the Amplituhedron

We define a new geometry obtained from the all-loop amplituhedron in ${\cal N}=4$ SYM by reducing its four-dimensional external and loop momenta to three dimensions. Focusing on the simplest four-point case, we provide strong evidence that the canonical form of this ``reduced amplituhedron" gives the all-loop integrand of the ABJM four-point amplitude. In addition to various all-loop cuts manifested by the geometry, we present explicitly new results for the integrand up to five loops, which are much simpler than results in ${\cal N}=4$ SYM. One of the reasons for such all-loop simplifications is that only a very small fraction of the so-called negative geometries survive the dimensional reduction, which corresponds to bipartite graphs. Our results suggest an unexpected relation between four-point amplitudes in these two theories.

Covariant color-kinematics duality, Hopf algebras and permutohedra

Based on the covariant color-kinematics duality, we investigate combinatorial and algebraic structures underlying their Bern-Carrasco-Johansson (BCJ) numerators of tree-level amplitudes in Yang-Mills-scalar (YMS) theory. The closed-formulae for BCJ numerators of YMS amplitudes and the pure-Yang-Mills (YM) ones exhibit nice quasi-shuffle Hopf algebra structures, and interestingly they can be viewed as summing over boundaries of all dimensions of a combinatorial permutohedron. In particular, the numerator with two scalars and $n{-}2$ gluons contains Fubini number ( $F_{n{-}2}$ ) of terms in one-to-one correspondence with boundaries of a $(n{-}3)$-dimensional permutohedron, and each of them has its own spurious-pole structures and a gauge-invariant numerator (both depending on reference momenta). From such Hopf algebra or permutohedron structure, we derive new recursion relations for the numerators and intriguing "factorization" on each spurious pole/facet of the permutohedron. Similar results hold for general YMS numerators and the pure-YM ones. Finally, with a special choice of reference momenta, our results imply BCJ numerators in a heavy-mass effective field theory with two massive particles and $n{-}2$ gluons/gravitons: we observe highly nontrivial cancellations in the heavy-mass limit, leading to new formulae for the effective numerators which resemble those obtained in recent works.

One-loop diagrams with quadratic propagators from the worldsheet

It is well known that forward limits of tree-level amplitudes (and those trivalent diagrams they consist of) produce one-loop amplitudes and trivalent diagrams with propagators linear in the loop momentum. They naturally arise from one-loop worldsheet formulae, and an important open problem is how to recombine them into usual one-loop diagrams with quadratic propagators. In this paper, we study a new collection of worldsheet functions: generalized one-loop Parke-Taylor factors with tensor numerators, which are conjectured to serve as a basis for one-loop worldsheet functions with this nice property. We present all-multiplicity, closed-form expressions for combinations of one-loop trivalent diagrams with quadratic propagators and tensor numerators to arbitrary rank (including possible tadpole contributions), produced by any pair of Parke-Taylor factors. We also briefly comment on reducing worldsheet functions onto such a basis, and applications to one-loop amplitudes in physical theories.

The momentum amplituhedron of SYM and ABJM from twistor-string maps

We study remarkable connections between twistor-string formulas for tree amplitudes in ${\cal N}=4$ SYM and ${\cal N}=6$ ABJM, and the corresponding momentum amplituhedron in the kinematic space of $D=4$ and $D=3$, respectively. Based on the Veronese map to positive Grassmannians, we define a twistor-string map from $G_{+}(2,n)$ to a $(2n{-}4)$-dimensional subspace of the 4d kinematic space where the momentum amplituhedron of SYM lives. We provide strong evidence that the twistor-string map is a diffeomorphism from $G_+(2,n)$ to the interior of momentum amplituhedron; the canonical form of the latter, which is known to give tree amplitudes of SYM, can be obtained as pushforward of that of former. We then move to three dimensions: based on Veronese map to orthogonal positive Grassmannian, we propose a similar twistor-string map from the moduli space ${\cal M}_{0,n}^+$ to a $(n{-}3)$-dimensional subspace of 3d kinematic space. The image gives a new positive geometry which conjecturally serves as the momentum amplituhedron for ABJM; its canonical form gives the tree amplitude with reduced supersymmetries in the theory. We also show how boundaries of compactified ${\cal M}_{0,n}^+$ map to boundaries of momentum amplituhedra for SYM and ABJM corresponding to factorization channels of amplitudes, and in particular for ABJM case the map beautifully excludes all unwanted channels.
