Time-delay Control Using a New Nonlinear Adaptive Law for Cable-Driven Robots

Cable-driven manipulators exhibit strong nonlinearities and low structural stiffness, which make precise control challenging under time-varying uncertainties and external disturbances. This paper presents a time-delay-estimation (TDE)-based adaptive fractional-order nonsingular terminal sliding mode (AFONTSM) control strategy for cable-driven robots. A robust controller is constructed within a TDE-based model-free framework by combining fractional-order nonsingular terminal sliding mode error dynamics with a fast terminal sliding mode reaching law. The main contribution is a new adaptive law that introduces an adaptive exponential term into the update gain to form a nonlinear adaptive mechanism. This design improves adaptive regulation under different operating conditions by suppressing noise-induced chattering during smooth tracking while preserving or enhancing the adaptive gain during trajectory reversal. Lyapunov analysis proves the ultimate uniform boundedness of the tracking error. Experimental results show that, compared with the baseline method, the proposed controller reduces RMSE by 34.52% and 31.11%, ITAE by 33.79% and 32.97%, and ISCT by 6.69% and 17.77% for the two joints, respectively. Further comparisons with recently reported adaptive laws demonstrate that the proposed law provides faster adaptive response, more stable gain evolution, and improved chattering suppression. Additional payload tests further verify the robustness and repeatability of the proposed method.

Effects of Different Q-swaps Modes on Percolation Threshold in Small-world Quantum Networks

Quantum networks are interconnected by nodes, between singlets which are formed to ensure the successful transmission of information with a probability of 1. However, in real quantum networks, nodes often share a partially entangled state instead of a singlet due to factors such as environmental noise. Therefore, it is necessary to convert the partially entangled state into a singlet for efficient communication. Percolation happens during the conversion of connected edges in the whole network. As a result, when the singlet conversion probability (SCP) is greater than the percolation threshold, a giant interconnected cluster that meets the basic requirements of communication will appear in the network. The percolation threshold of the network reveals the minimum resources required to carry out large scale quantum communication. In this paper, we investigate the effect of different q-swaps on the percolation threshold in quantum entanglement percolation of small world networks. We show that Quantum Entanglement Percolation (QEP) has a better percolation performance than Classical Entanglement Percolation (CEP). By using different q swaps in Watts Strogatz (WS) small world networks and Kleinberg networks for simulation, we also show that the percolation threshold is minimized when SCP is equal to the average degree of the network. Furthermore, we introduce quantum walk as a new scheme to have an extra reduction in the percolation threshold.

Capacity Enhancement of n-GHZ State Super-dense Coding Channels by Purification and Quantum Neural Network

A super-dense coding protocol based on the n-GHZ state is proposed to enable the two communicating parties to choose the number of transmitted code words according to their demand and to adapt the quantum super-dense coding protocol to multiple transmitted code word scenarios. A method is proposed that combines entanglement purification and Quantum Neural Network (QNN) to improve the channel capacity of super-dense coding. By simulating a realistic quantum communication noise environment in the Cirq platform, the effect of purification and QNN on the enhancement of fidelity and channel capacity in super-dense coding communication scenarios with different dimensions under unitary and non-unitary noise conditions is analyzed. The experimental results show that the channel capacity of super-dense coding is improved in different degrees when purification and QNN are applied separately, and the combination of purification and QNN has a superimposed effect on the channel capacity enhancement of super-dense coding, and the enhancement effect is more significant in different dimensions.

Probability Distribution of a Passive Scalar in Isotropic Turbulence

In this letter, we present developments of the Hamiltonian approach to problems of the probability distribution for a passive scalar in isotropic turbulence, and also considers specific applications of the modified Prelle-Singer procedure to turbulence models. The following key questions are discussed and solved: what is the general dynamical structure of the resulting scale equation permitted by passive scalar turbulence models? What are the general requirements of the relations between canonical variables and the canonical variabes representation for turbulence by using canonical variables? It is shown that the existence of the Haniltonian representation in turbulence is a privilege of only turbulence systems for which the variational principle of least action is impossible The master equation of the probability distribution of a passive scalar in isotropic turbulence can also be deduced explicitly.
