High Precision Fundamental Physics Experiments at JLab with Spin-transparent Storage Rings of Low-energy Polarized Electron Beams

A breakthrough in fundamental physics experiments measuring particle spin precession may happen if spin-transparent storage rings become adopted tools for such experiments. We present a new design of highly specialized table-sized storage rings, which use low-energy polarized electron beams and Mott polarimetry. Based on the spin transparency ansatz, the spin precession stemming from the magnetic dipole moment is canceled at any beam energy after an electron's turn along the periodic orbit in the ring. Meanwhile, a spin precession induced by the fundamental physics of interest, e.g., the electron's permanent electric dipole moment (EDM) and/or ultralight-dark-matter-mediated forces such as axions, will accumulate. However, capitalizing on such types of rings is not only desirable for measurements of EDMs and axion searches relevant to $CP$ violation and matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe, but may also find very promising applications in quantum computing.

To the issue of Geodesics and Torsion in Riemannian geometry and Theory of the Gravitation: analysis of consistence and update of the conventional concept

A simple differential analysis of issue of the correspondence between notion of geodesics in gravitation theory of GTR and straights of inertial motion in the Minkowski space-time discovers that, conventional certification of the geodesics in GTR is not compatible with the existence of the Riemann-Christoffel curvature tensor (RCT). We show that, resolution of the contradiction consists of a natural extension of the Christoffel symbols in the gravitation dynamic law to the complete connectedness form which includes a triadic asymmetric tensor (named the moderator). The correspondent Riemann supertensor form, unavoidably annihilating by certification of 4-vectors of particle momentum and spin, gives birth to torsion (skew-symmetric part of the moderator) and the gravitensor (the even-symmetric part); both arrive connected to the RCT and become an indispensable integral part of structure of the gravitational field. The equivalence principle still actual while it becomes enriched in the content. The Einstein-Hilbert law of the metric to matter connection remains unchanged at the produced correction of the gravitational dynamics. Our analysis results in the gravitensor addition to Christoffels in equation for geodesics, modified equations for 4-vector of particle spin with contribution from torsion, and renormalization of metric in the update dynamic concept of the GTR. We pay attention to possible implication of torsion in the elementary interactions.

Universal Synchronous Spin Rotators for Electron-Ion Colliders

The paper provides mathematics and physics considerations concerning a special class of electron spin manipulating structures for future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) projects. These structures, which we call Universal Synchronous Spin Rotators (USSR), consist of a sequence of standard basic spin manipulating elements or cells built with two solenoids and one bending magnet between them. When integrated into the ring arcs, USSR structures do not affect the central particle orbit, and their spin transformation functions can be described by a linear mathematical model. In spite of being relatively simple, the model allows one to design spin rotators, which are able to perform spin direction changes from vertical to longitudinal and vice versa in significant continuous intervals of the electron energy. This makes USSR especially valuable tools for EIC nuclear physics experiments.

The Superspinorial Field Theory in Riemannian Coordinates

The Superspinorial Dual-covariant Field Theory (SSFT) developed in papers [1, 2] is treated in terms of Riemannian coordinates (RC) [7, 8] in space of the N dimensions unified manifold (UM). Metric tensor of UM (grand metric, GM) is built on the split metric matrices (SM) [1] which are a proportion of the Cartan's affinors (an extended analog of Dirac's matrices) of his Theory of Spinors [3] as explicated in [2]. Transition to RC based on consideration of geodesics is described. A principal property of an orthogonal RC frame (ORC) utilized in the present paper is constancy of the rotation matrix A of the Riemannian space of UM, while transformation matrix B of the dual superspinorial state vector field (DSV) varies together with Cartan's affinors according to the dynamical law of SSFT derived in [2]. The spinorial genesis of notion of the orthogonality as aspect of irreducible SSFT is pointed out in the present paper. The main outcome of resorting to an orthogonal RC frame (ORC) is explication of the conformal dynamic invariance of metric i.e. constancy of ratio between components of GM in ORC frame. This leads to possibility of reduction of algebraic equations of SSFT for the SM [2] to equation for GM determinant where GM signature plays a role of N discrete parameters non-specified in advance.

Spinorial Reduction of the Superdimensional Dual-covariant Field Theory

In this paper we produce further specification of the geometric and algebraic properties of the earlier introduced superdimensional dual-covariant field theory (SFT) in a N-dimensional manifold [1] as an approach to a unified field theory (UFT). Considerations in the present paper are directed by a requirement of transformational invariance of connections of derivatives of dual state vector (DSV) and unified gauge field (UGF matrices) to these objects themselves established by mean of N split metric matrices of a rank μ (SM, an extended analog of Dirac matrices) in frame of the related Euler-Lagrange equations for DSV, UGF and SM derived in [1]. This requirement is posed on SFT as one of the aspects of the general demand of irreducibility claimed to UFT; it leads to rotational invariance of SM and grand metric tensor (GM) as being structured on SM. Study in this work has led to explication of geometrical nature of SM and DSV as spin-affinors (variable in space of the unified manifold) and dual spin-field, respectively, in accordance with the E. Cartan's theory of spinors [2, 3, 4].

A Superdimensional Dual-covariant Field Theory

An approach to a Unified Field Theory (UFT) is developed as an attempt to establish unification of the Theory of Quantum Fields (QFT) and General Theory of Relativity (GTR) on the background of a covariant differential calculus. A dual State Vector field (DSV)consisting of covariant and contravariant N-component functions of variables of a N-dimensional unified manifod (UM)is introduced to represents matter. DSV is supposed to transform in a way distinct from that of the differentials of the UM variables. Consequently, the hybrid tensors and a hybrid affine tensor (Dynamic Connection, DC) are introduced. The hybrid curvature form (HCF) is introduced as a covariant derivative of DC. A system of covariant Euler-Lagrange (EL) equations for DSV, DC, and a twin couple of the triadic hybrid tensors (Split Metric, SM)is derived. A scalar Lagrangian form is composed based on a set of principles suited for UFT, including the homogeneity in the UM space, differential irreducibility and scale invariance. The type of the manifold geometry is not specified in advance, in neither local (signature) nor regional (topology) aspects. Equations for DSV play role of the Schroedinger-Dirac equation in space of UM. By the correspondent EL equations, DC and SM are connected to DSV and become responsible for the non-linear features of the system i.e. interactions. In this paper we mark breaking of a background paradigm of the modern QFT, the superposition principle. The issue of the UM-MF dimensionality will be addressed, and relations to the principles and methodology of QFT and GTR will be discussed.
