Physics-informed sparse identification-based tube model predictive control for aerial vehicles

Autonomous aerial vehicles necessitate control strategies that balance computational efficiency with robust performance in dynamic operational environments. This paper proposes a model predictive control (MPC) framework for aerial platforms that leverages physics-informed machine learning (PIML) to achieve an optimal balance between computational tractability and robust performance. At the core of the proposed approach lies a sparse, control-affine model identified via the PIML method, which provides a parsimonious yet interpretable representation of the system dynamics by embedding first-principles knowledge and learning residual uncertainties from operational data. This model is incorporated within a robust MPC scheme that adopts a high-order Runge-Kutta discretization to ensure prediction accuracy and an adaptive tube-based mechanism to guarantee constraint satisfaction under uncertainty. The online adaptation of the tube, directly informed by the residual error of the PIML model, ensures robust stability without introducing excessive conservatism. Rigorous theoretical proofs are provided to establish recursive feasibility and stability. Numerical simulations and experiments on a quadrotor demonstrate that our method significantly reduces computational load compared to nonlinear MPC and robust MPC using a first-principles high-fidelity model, while outperforming PID, nonlinear MPC, neural-network-based MPC, and fixed-tube robust MPC in tracking performance and robustness, showcasing the practical efficiency of the proposed PIML-based control synthesis for resource-constrained aerial systems.

Artificial intelligence application in lymphoma diagnosis with Vision Transformer using weakly supervised training

Vision transformers (ViT) have been shown to allow for more flexible feature detection and can outperform convolutional neural network (CNN) when pre-trained on sufficient data. Due to their promising feature detection capabilities, we deployed ViTs for morphological classification of anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) versus classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). We had previously designed a ViT model which was trained on a small dataset of 1,200 image patches in fully supervised training. That model achieved a diagnostic accuracy of 100% and an F1 score of 1.0 on the independent test set. Since fully supervised training is not a practical method due to lack of expertise resources in both the training and testing phases, we conducted a recent study on a modified approach to training data (weakly supervised training) and show that labeling training image patch automatically at the slide level of each whole-slide-image is a more practical solution for clinical use of Vision Transformer. Our ViT model, trained on a larger dataset of 100,000 image patches, yields evaluation metrics with significant accuracy, F1 score, and area under the curve (AUC) at 91.85%, 0.92, and 0.98, respectively. These are respectable values that qualify this ViT model, with weakly supervised training, as a suitable tool for a deep learning module in clinical model development using automated image patch extraction.

Towards Efficient and Secure Cloud-Assisted Autonomous Systems: A Review of Architectures, Algorithms, Security, and Deployment Challenges

Networked Control Systems (NCSs) have been instrumental in realizing fully connected and responsive intelligent environments within the context of real-time virtual control and management. However, traditional NCSs face considerable challenges in handling the vast amounts of data generated by large-scale control applications, particularly in terms of data acquisition, storage, and computational processing. To address these challenges, the emergence of cloud computing and advancements in control theory have empowered the new paradigm known as Cloud Control Systems (CCSs). Recently, CCSs have received substantial attention from industries for their potential properties, such as large-scale data management, complex computations, and data-centric optimized decisions. This study presents an extensive review of recent progress in CCSs spanning over multiple studies published between 2012 and 2025. Specifically, the focus is on providing a taxonomy of the current findings in CCS research, encompassing various perspectives, such as its efficient implementations in industrial automation, security and privacy considerations, and cloud-based control techniques. Each category is examined in depth through selected state-of-the-art analyses of different approaches and contrasting methodologies. Furthermore, we discuss future directions aimed at designing more efficient and practical CCSs. The insights gained from this study can help researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers in their domain for effective CCS design and deployment.

Tunable superluminal reflection and transmission through a slab doped with Raman driven atoms

A study about the reflection and transmission of an electromagnetic pulse through a slab doped with four-level atomic system has been presented. The doped atoms are considered to be in N-configuration with a pump field and a weak probe field. An additional control field is also applied to manipulate the Raman gain of the atomic medium. The propagation of transmitted and reflected pulses at different control field strengths and different slab thickness has been studied. It is found that the transmitted and reflected pulses can be simultaneously subluminal or superluminal. These pulses can be controlled from subluminal to superluminal by adjusting the strength of the control field

Highly Accurate and Reliable Wireless Network Slicing in 5th Generation Networks: A Hybrid Deep Learning Approach

In the current era, the next-generation networks like 5th generation (5G) and 6th generation (6G) networks require high security, low latency with a high reliable standards and capacity. In these networks, reconfigurable wireless network slicing is considered as one of the key elements for 5G and 6G networks. A reconfigurable slicing allows the operators to run various instances of the network using a single infrastructure for a better quality of services (QoS). The QoS can be achieved by reconfiguring and optimizing these networks using Artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms. To develop a smart decision-making mechanism for network management and restricting network slice failures, machine learning-enabled reconfigurable wireless network solutions are required. In this paper, we propose a hybrid deep learning model that consists of a convolution neural network (CNN) and long short term memory (LSTM). The CNN performs resource allocation, network reconfiguration, and slice selection while the LSTM is used for statistical information (load balancing, error rate etc.) regarding network slices. The applicability of the proposed model is validated by using multiple unknown devices, slice failure, and overloading conditions. The overall accuracy of 95.17% is achieved by the proposed model that reflects its applicability.

Pairwise Stability in Two Sided Market with Strictly Increasing Valuation Functions

This paper deals with two-sided matching market with two disjoint sets, i.e. the set of buyers and the set of sellers. Each seller can trade with at most with one buyer and vice versa. Money is transferred from sellers to buyers for an indivisible goods that buyers own. Valuation functions, for participants of both sides, are represented by strictly increasing functions with money considered as discrete variable. An algorithm is devised to prove the existence of stability for this model.

Stability in a many-to-one job market with general increasing functions

We consider an occupation market in which preferences of members are treated as non linear general increasing functions. The arrangement of members is separated into two non over-lapping sets, set of workers and set of firms. We consider that firms have vacant posts. Every worker needs a job and firms have opportunity to contract more than one workers. A worker can work for just in at most one firm. We demonstrate the existence of pairwise stability for such a business sector. Our model is the augmentation of the Ali and Farooq [3] model by considering non linear valuations and bounded side payments.
