Some variational problems for the complex Monge--Amp{\`e}re operator

We consider the Dirichlet problem for the complex Monge--Amp\`ere equation on strongly pseudoconvex K\"ahler manifolds when the right-hand side is decreasing in the solution. Using flow-based arguments, we establish existence of smooth solutions in a number of natural circumstances, following work of Chou-Wang.

$\mathbb{G}$-uniform weighted K-stability for models on klt varieties

In this paper, we make a generalization of the results in \cite{Li22a} to the singular and weighted setting. In particular, we show that on a polarized projective klt variety, the $\mathbb{G}$-uniform weighted K-stability for models implies the $\mathbb{G}$-coercivity of the weighted Mabuchi functional. In the toric case, we further show that the $(\mathbb{C}^{\times})^n$-uniform $(\mathrm{v},\mathrm{w}\cdot\ell_{\mathrm{ext}})$-weighted K-stability is preserved when perturbing the polarization on the resolution, which implies the existence of the weighted extremal metric(s) on the resolution if the weight function $\mathrm{v}$ is log-concave.

On the Existence of Weighted-cscK Metrics

In this paper, we prove that on a smooth K\"ahler manifold, the $\mathbb{G}$-coercivity of the weighted Mabuchi functional implies the existence of the (v, w)-weighted-cscK (extremal) metric with v log-concave (firstly studied in \cite{Lah19}), e.g, cscK metrics, K\"ahler-Ricci solitons, $\mu$-cscK metrics.

A Le Potier-type isomorphism twisted with multiplier submodule sheaves

In this paper, we obtain a Le Potier-type isomorphism theorem twisted with multiplier submodule sheaves, which relates a holomorphic vector bundle endowed with a strongly Nakano semipositive singular Hermitian metric to the tautological line bundle with the induced metric. As applications, we obtain a Kollár-type injectivity theorem, a Nadel-type vanishing theorem, and a singular holomorphic Morse inequality for holomorphic vector bundles and so on.

The Eigenvalue Problem for the Complex Hessian Operator on $m$-Pseudoconvex Manifolds

We establish $C^{1,1}$-regularity and uniqueness of the first eigenfunction of the complex Hessian operator on strongly $m$-pseudoconvex manifolds, along with a variational formula for the first eigenvalue. From these results, we derive a number of applications, including a bifurcation-type theorem and geometric bounds for the eigenvalue.

Pure exploration in multi-armed bandits with low rank structure using oblivious sampler

In this paper, we consider the low rank structure of the reward sequence of the pure exploration problems. Firstly, we propose the separated setting in pure exploration problem, where the exploration strategy cannot receive the feedback of its explorations. Due to this separation, it requires that the exploration strategy to sample the arms obliviously. By involving the kernel information of the reward vectors, we provide efficient algorithms for both time-varying and fixed cases with regret bound $O(d\sqrt{(\ln N)/n})$. Then, we show the lower bound to the pure exploration in multi-armed bandits with low rank sequence. There is an $O(\sqrt{\ln N})$ gap between our upper bound and the lower bound.

Uniform K-stability and Conformally Kähler, Einstein-Maxwell geometry on toric manifolds

Conformally Kähler, Einstein-Maxwell metrics and $f$-extremal metrics are generalization of canonical metrics in Kähler geometry. We introduce uniform K-stability for toric Kähler manifolds, and show that uniform K-stability is necessary condition for the existence of $f$-extremal metrics on toric manifolds. Furthermore, we show that uniform K-stability is equivalent to properness of relative K-energy.

Openness of uniformly valuative stability on the Kähler cone of projective manifolds

Assume that a projective variety is uniformly valuatively stable with respect to a polarization. We show that the projective variety is uniformly valuatively stable with respect to any polarization sufficiently close to the original polarization. The definition of uniformly valuatively stability in this paper is stronger than that given by Dervan and Legendre in \cite{D-L20}. We also define the valuative stability for the transcendental Kähler classes. Our openness result can be extended to the Kähler cone of projective manifolds.

A generalised log-determinant regularizer for online semi-definite programming and its applications

We consider a variant of online semi-definite programming problem (OSDP): The decision space consists of semi-definite matrices with bounded $Γ$-trace norm, which is a generalization of trace norm defined by a positive definite matrix $Γ.$ To solve this problem, we utilise the follow-the-regularized-leader algorithm with a $Γ$-dependent log-determinant regularizer. Then we apply our generalised setting and our proposed algorithm to online matrix completion(OMC) and online similarity prediction with side information. In particular, we reduce the online matrix completion problem to the generalised OSDP problem, and the side information is represented as the $Γ$ matrix. Hence, due to our regret bound for the generalised OSDP, we obtain an optimal mistake bound for the OMC by removing the logarithmic factor.

Improved algorithms for online load balancing

We consider an online load balancing problem and its extensions in the framework of repeated games. On each round, the player chooses a distribution (task allocation) over $K$ servers, and then the environment reveals the load of each server, which determines the computation time of each server for processing the task assigned. After all rounds, the cost of the player is measured by some norm of the cumulative computation-time vector. The cost is the makespan if the norm is $L_\infty$-norm. The goal is to minimize the regret, i.e., minimizing the player's cost relative to the cost of the best fixed distribution in hindsight. We propose algorithms for general norms and prove their regret bounds. In particular, for $L_\infty$-norm, our regret bound matches the best known bound and the proposed algorithm runs in polynomial time per trial involving linear programming and second order programming, whereas no polynomial time algorithm was previously known to achieve the bound.
