Decision Transformer for UAV-Mounted RIS-Assisted Dynamic D2D Communications

This paper studies unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-mouted reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted device-to-device (D2D) communication with stochastic link activation. It models UAV motion and attitude, time-varying Rician angles, and angle-dependent RIS reflection. A joint optimization of UAV trajectory, attitude, and RIS phases is formulated to maximize average sum rate under mobility, energy, and hardware constraints. The problem is addressed using deep reinforcement learning and a Decision Transformer trained on expert trajectories from multiple scenarios. Results demonstrate effective cross-scenario generalization, with zero-shot transfer outperforming direct DRL transfer and online fine-tuning achieving competitive performance with fewer interactions.

OLEDLM: A Unified Language Model for OLED Molecular Design

The development of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) materials faces the compounded challenges of an astronomically large chemical space, stringent quantum-chemical constraints, and a scarcity of labeled data. Although the question of OLED generation is important, few models have been trained effectively for this specific domain. We propose an inverse molecular design framework based on causal language models: given target optoelectronic properties (e.g., excitation energy, oscillator strength), our model directly generates OLED SMILES sequences satisfying the specified constraints. We employ a multi-stage strategy: first, we establish a foundational chemical language model using a LLaMA-style transformer architecture. To the best of our knowledge, this represents the first successful adaptation of LLMs specifically for the OLED domain, bridging the gap between generic molecular generation and the stringent structural requirements of optoelectronic materials. Second, we fine-tune property predictors based on a BERT model pre-trained on our large-scale OLED dataset. Then, we perform Reinforcement Learning on our fine-tuned model, leveraging our property predictor, for better SMILES generation. Finally, through DFT verification, we demonstrate that our framework can efficiently navigate the OLED chemical space, generating novel candidates with high structural validity and optimized optoelectronic properties.

DUMA: a Dual-Mind Conversational Agent with Fast and Slow Thinking

Inspired by the dual-process theory of human cognition, we introduce DUMA, a novel conversational agent framework that embodies a dual-mind mechanism through the utilization of two generative Large Language Models (LLMs) dedicated to fast and slow thinking respectively. The fast thinking model serves as the primary interface for external interactions and initial response generation, evaluating the necessity for engaging the slow thinking model based on the complexity of the complete response. When invoked, the slow thinking model takes over the conversation, engaging in meticulous planning, reasoning, and tool utilization to provide a well-analyzed response. This dual-mind configuration allows for a seamless transition between intuitive responses and deliberate problem-solving processes based on the situation. We have constructed a conversational agent to handle online inquiries in the real estate industry. The experiment proves that our method balances effectiveness and efficiency, and has a significant improvement compared to the baseline.

The First Comprehensive Dataset with Multiple Distortion Types for Visual Just-Noticeable Differences

Recently, with the development of deep learning, a number of Just Noticeable Difference (JND) datasets have been built for JND modeling. However, all the existing JND datasets only label the JND points based on the level of compression distortion. Hence, JND models learned from such datasets can only be used for image/video compression. As known, JND is a major characteristic of the human visual system (HVS), which reflects the maximum visual distortion that the HVS can tolerate. Hence, a generalized JND modeling should take more kinds of distortion types into account. To benefit JND modeling, this work establishes a generalized JND dataset with a coarse-to-fine JND selection, which contains 106 source images and 1,642 JND maps, covering 25 distortion types. To this end, we proposed a coarse JND candidate selection scheme to select the distorted images from the existing Image Quality Assessment (IQA) datasets as JND candidates instead of generating JND maps ourselves. Then, a fine JND selection is carried out on the JND candidates with a crowdsourced subjective assessment.
