Exact solution of the $q$-deformed $D^{(1)}_3$ vertex model with open boundaries

In this paper, we study the exact solution of the $q$-deformed $D^{(1)}_3$ quantum lattice model with non-diagonal open boundary condition. We demonstrate the crossing symmetry of the transfer matrix and obtain the quantum determinant. We construct the independent transfer matrix fusion identities and show that the fusion processes can be closed. Based on the fusion hierarchies and polynomial analysis, we obtain the inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relations, exact energy spectrum and Bethe ansatz equations of the system.

Four-body Semileptonic Charm Decays $D\to P_1P_2\ell^+ν_\ell $ Based on SU(3) Flavor Analysis

Motivated by the significant experimental progress in probing semileptonic decays $D\to P_1P_2\ell^+ν_\ell~(\ell=μ,e)$, we analyze the branching ratios of the $D\to P_1P_2\ell^+ν_\ell $ decays with the non-resonant, the light scalar meson resonant and the vector meson resonant contributions in this work. We obtain the hadronic amplitude relations between different decay modes by the SU(3) flavor analysis, and then predict relevant branching ratios of the $D\to P_1P_2\ell^+ν_\ell$ decays by the present experimental data with $2 σ$ errors. Most of our predicted branching ratios are consistent with present experimental data within $2σ$ error bars, and others are consistent with the data within $3σ$ error bars. We find that some branching ratios of the non-resonant decays are on the order of $\mathcal{O}(10^{-3}-10^{-4})$, the vector meson resonant contributions are dominant in many decays, the non-resonant, the vector meson resonant and the scalar resonant contributions are all important in the $D^0\toηπ^-\ell^+ν_\ell$ decays, and both the non-resonant and the scalar resonant contributions are important in the $D^0\to K^-K^0\ell^+ν_\ell,η'π^-\ell^+ν_\ell$ and $D^+\to \overline{K}^0K^0\ell^+ν_\ell,π^0π^0\ell^+ν_\ell,ηπ^0\ell^+ν_\ell,η'π^0\ell^+ν_\ell$ decays. According to our predictions, many decay modes could be observed in the experiments like BESIII, LHCb and BelleII, and some decay modes might be measured in these experiments in near future.

Elementary excitations in an integrable twisted J1-J2 spin chain in the thermodynamic limit

The exact elementary excitations in a typical U(1) symmetry broken quantum integrable system, that is the twisted J1-J2 spin chain with nearest-neighbor, next nearest neighbor and chiral three spin interactions, are studied. The main technique is that we quantify the energy spectrum of the system by the zero roots of transfer matrix instead of the traditional Bethe roots. From the numerical calculation and singularity analysis, we obtain the patterns of zero roots. Based on them, we analytically obtain the ground state energy and the elementary excitations in the thermodynamic limit. We find that the system also exhibits the nearly degenerate states in the regime of $η\in \mathbb{R}$, where the nearest-neighbor couplings among the z-direction are ferromagnetic. More careful study shows that the competing of interactions can induce the gapless low-lying excitations and quantum phase transition in the antiferromagnetic regime with $η\in \mathbb{R}+iπ$.

Exact surface energy of the $D^{(1)}_2$ spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundary reflections

The exact solution of the $D^{(1)}_2$ quantum spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundary reflections is obtained. It is found that the generating functional of conserved quantities of the system can be factorized as the product of transfer matrices of two anisotropic $XXZ$ spin chains with open boundary conditions. By using the factorization identities and the fusion technique, the eigenvalues and the Bethe ansatz equations of the model are obtained. The eigenvalues are also parameterized by the zero roots of the transfer matrix, and the patterns of root distributions are obtained. Based on them, ground states energy and the surface energies induced by the twisted boundary magnetic fields in the thermodynamic limit are obtained. These results are checked by the numerical calculations. The corresponding isotropic limit is also discussed. The results given in this paper are the foundation to study the exact physical properties of high rank $D^{(1)}_{n}$ model by using the nested processes.

Exact ground state and elementary excitations of a competing spin chain with twisted boundary condition

A novel Bethe ansatz scheme is proposed to investigate the exact physical properties of an integrable anisotropic quantum spin chain with competing interactions among the nearest, next nearest neighbor and chiral three spin couplings, where the boundary condition is the twisted one. The eigenvalue of the transfer matrix is characterized by its zero roots instead of the traditional Bethe roots. Based on the exact solution, the conserved momentum and charge operators of this U(1)-symmetry broken system are obtained. The ground state energy and density of rapidities are calculated. It is found that there exist three kinds of elementary excitations and the corresponding dispersion relations are obtained, which gives a different picture from that with periodic boundary condition.

Scattering matrix of elementary excitations in the antiperiodic XXZ spin chain with η=iπ/3

We study the thermodynamic limit of the antiperiodic XXZ spin chain with the anisotropic parameter $η=\frac{πi}{3}$. We parameterize eigenvalues of the transfer matrix by their zero points instead of Bethe roots. We obtain patterns of the distribution of zero points. Based on them, we calculate the ground state energy and the elementary excitations in the thermodynamic limit. We also obtain the two-body scattering matrix of elementary excitations. Two types of elementary excitations and three types of scattering processes are discussed in detailed.

Root patterns and energy spectra of quantum integrable systems without $U(1)$ symmetry: antiperiodic $XXZ$ spin chain

Finding out root patterns of quantum integrable models is an important step to study their physical properties in the thermodynamic limit. Especially for models without $U(1)$ symmetry, their spectra are usually given by inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relations and the Bethe root patterns are still unclear. In this paper with the antiperiodic $XXZ$ spin chain as an example, an analytic method to derive both the Bethe root patterns and the transfer-matrix root patterns in the thermodynamic limit is proposed. Based on them the ground state energy and elementary excitations in the gapped regime are derived. The present method provides an universal procedure to compute physical properties of quantum integrable models in the thermodynamic limit.

T-W relation and free energy of the Heisenberg chain at a finite temperature

A new nonlinear integral equation (NLIE) describing the thermodynamics of the Heisenberg spin chain is derived based on the t-W relation of the quantum transfer matrices. The free energy of the system in a magnetic field is thus obtained by solving the NLIE. This method can be generalized to other lattice quantum integrable models. Taking the SU(3)-invariant quantum spin chain as an example, we construct the corresponding NLIEs and compute the free energy. The present results coincide exactly with those obtained via other methods previously.

Exact surface energy and helical spinons in the XXZ spin chain with arbitrary non-diagonal boundary fields

An analytic method is proposed to compute the surface energy and elementary excitations of the XXZ spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundary fields. For the gapped case, in some boundary parameter regimes the contributions of the two boundary fields to the surface energy are non-additive. Such a correlation effect between the two boundaries also depends on the parity of the site number $N$ even in the thermodynamic limit $N\to\infty$. For the gapless case, contributions of the two boundary fields to the surface energy are additive due to the absence of long-range correlation in the bulk. Although the $U(1)$ symmetry of the system is broken, exact spinon-like excitations, which obviously do not carry spin-$\frac12$, are observed. The present method provides an universal procedure to deal with quantum integrable systems either with or without $U(1)$ symmetry.

Graded Off-diagonal Bethe ansatz solution of the $SU(2|2)$ spin chain model with generic integrable boundaries

The graded off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method is proposed to study supersymmetric quantum integrable models (i.e., quantum integrable models associated with superalgebras). As an example, the exact solutions of the $SU(2|2)$ vertex model with both periodic and generic open boundary conditions are constructed. By generalizing the fusion techniques to the supersymmetric case, a closed set of operator product identities about the transfer matrices are derived, which allows us to give the eigenvalues in terms of homogeneous or inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relations. The method and results provided in this paper can be generalized to other high rank supersymmetric quantum integrable models.

Exact ground state and elementary excitations of a topological spin chain

A novel Bethe Ansatz scheme is proposed to calculate physical properties of quantum integrable systems without $U(1)$ symmetry. As an example, the anti-periodic XXZ spin chain, a typical correlated many-body system embedded in a topological manifold, is examined. Conserved "momentum" and "charge" operators are constructed despite the absence of translational invariance and $U(1)$ symmetry. The ground state energy and elementary excitations are derived exactly. It is found that two intrinsic fractional (one half) zero modes accounting for the double degeneracy exist in the eigenstates. The elementary excitations show quite a different picture from that of a periodic chain. This method can be applied to other quantum integrable models either with or without $U(1)$ symmetry.

Exact solution of a anisotropic $J_1-J_2$ spin chain with antiperiodic boundary condition

The exact solution of an integrable anisotropic Heisenberg spin chain with nearest-neighbour, next-nearest-neighbour and scalar chirality couplings is studied, where the boundary condition is the antiperiodic one. The detailed construction of Hamiltonian and the proof of integrability are given. The antiperiodic boundary condition breaks the $U(1)$-symmetry of the system and we use the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz to solve it. The energy spectrum is characterized by the inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relations and the contribution of the inhomogeneous term is studied. The ground state energy and the twisted boundary energy in different regions are obtained. We also find that the Bethe roots at the ground state form the string structure if the coupling constant $J=-1$ although the Bethe Ansatz equations are the inhomogeneous ones.

Transkernel: Bridging Monolithic Kernels to Peripheral Cores

Smart devices see a large number of ephemeral tasks driven by background activities. In order to execute such a task, the OS kernel wakes up the platform beforehand and puts it back to sleep afterwards. In doing so, the kernel operates various IO devices and orchestrates their power state transitions. Such kernel executions are inefficient as they mismatch typical CPU hardware. They are better off running on a low-power, microcontroller-like core, i.e., peripheral core, relieving CPU from the inefficiency. We therefore present a new OS structure, in which a lightweight virtual executor called transkernel offloads specific phases from a monolithic kernel. The transkernel translates stateful kernel execution through cross-ISA, dynamic binary translation (DBT); it emulates a small set of stateless kernel services behind a narrow, stable binary interface; it specializes for hot paths; it exploits ISA similarities for lowering DBT cost. Through an ARM-based prototype, we demonstrate transkernel's feasibility and benefit. We show that while cross-ISA DBT is typically used under the assumption of efficiency loss, it can enable efficiency gain, even on off-the-shelf hardware.

Exact solution of an integrable anisotropic $J_1-J_2$ spin chain model

An integrable anisotropic Heisenberg spin chain with nearest-neighbour couplings, next-nearest-neighbour couplings and scalar chirality terms is constructed. After proving the integrability, we obtain the exact solution of the system. The ground state and the elementary excitations are also studied. It is shown that the spinon excitation of the present model possesses a novel triple arched structure. The elementary excitation is gapless if the anisotropic parameter $η$ is real while the elementary excitation has an enhanced gap by the next-nearest-neighbour and chiral three-spin interactions if the anisotropic parameter $η$ is imaginary. The method of this paper provides a general way to construct new integrable models with next-nearest-neighbour interactions.

Correlation functions of the XXZ spin chain with the twisted boundary condition

The scalar products, form factors and correlation functions of the XXZ spin chain with twisted (or antiperiodic) boundary condition are obtained based on the inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relation and the Bethe states constructed via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz. It is shown that the scalar product of two off-shell Bethe states, the form factors and the two-point correlation functions can be expressed as the summation of certain determinants. The corresponding homogeneous limits are studied. The results are also checked by the numerical calculations.

Surface energy and elementary excitations of the XXZ spin chain with arbitrary boundary fields

The thermodynamic properties of the XXZ spin chain with integrable open boundary conditions at the gaped region (i.e., the anisotropic parameter $η$ being a real number) are investigated. It is shown that the contribution of the inhomogeneous term in the $T-Q$ relation of the ground state and elementary excited state can be neglected when the size of the system $N$ tends to infinity. The surface energy and elementary excitations induced by the unparallel boundary magnetic fields are obtained.

Twisted boundary energy and low energy excitation of the XXZ spin torus at the ferromagnetic region

We investigate the thermodynamic limit of the one-dimensional ferromagnetic XXZ model with twisted (or antiperiodic ) boundary condition. It is shown that the distribution of the Bethe roots of the inhomogeneous Bethe Ansatz equations (BAEs) for the ground state as well as for the low-lying excited states satisfy the string hypothesis, although the inhomogeneous BAEs are not in the standard product form which has made the study of the corresponding thermodynamic limit nontrivial. We also obtain the twisted boundary energy induced by the non-trivial twisted boundary conditions in the thermodynamic limit.
