SocialFiVis: A Visual Analytics Sandbox for LLM-Grounded Multi-Agent Simulation in Social Finance

The emergence of social finance (SocialFi) transforms online communities into complex socio-economic systems. Within these spaces, collective decisions shape a "digital commons" characterized by social capital (e.g., community trust) and financial health (e.g., market liquidity). Governing such hybrid ecosystems is challenging because real-world interventions are costly and irreversible. While counterfactual simulation is essential for exploring alternative governance strategies, existing approaches fail to capture the non-linear interplay between governance rules, individual behaviors, and emergent economic outcomes. To systematically unpack this complexity, we operationalize the Institutional Analysis and Development (IAD) framework as our theoretical foundation, synthesizing prior literature with insights from formative expert interviews. Built on this framework, we present SocialFiVis, an IAD-embedded visual analytics sandbox. It introduces a robust model to quantify the dual-track digital commons, coupled with a two-phase simulation engine. This engine combines LLM-derived personas with a mechanism-guided Perception-Reasoning-Action (PRA) runtime to simulate heterogeneous, context-aware agents empirically grounded in the retained messaging cohort. A hierarchical multi-view interface with interpretable reasoning pathways enables community operators to explore counterfactual policies and trace system-level outcomes back to individual behavioral rationales. We evaluate SocialFiVis through two case studies, a user study, and follow-up interviews. Results demonstrate that SocialFiVis supports fine-grained behavioral attribution and helps explain emergent phenomena such as the structural decoupling of social capital and the resilience of messaging members under localized governance shocks.

SupplyNet: Supporting Visual Exploratory Learning in Supply Chain via Contextual Multi-Agent Simulation

Simulation has long supported supply chain management instruction by letting learners observe network behavior and test decision strategies. Recent progress in LLM-driven agents opens new possibilities for richer, more adaptive simulations, but many existing systems still present abstract, opaque data that overwhelms learners and discourages active exploration. We introduce \textit{SupplyNet}, a gamified visual simulation system built on a contextual graph-based LLM multi-agent framework that models interdependent supply chain dynamics and provides responsive feedback through tiered challenges. \textit{SupplyNet} turns the simulation into a manipulable decision space by integrating an interactive network view of system state, a branching timeline for "what-if" exploration and comparison, and a task-oriented analysis console for structured performance breakdowns. Together, these visual components support counterfactual exploration, causal tracing, and comparative reasoning about outcomes. A user study suggests that \textit{SupplyNet} increases engagement and supports users' perceived understanding of supply chain dynamics, highlighting the potential of pairing contextual multi-agent simulation with visualization to advance operational comprehension.

Enhanced Self-Learning with Epistemologically-Informed LLM Dialogue

Large Language Models (LLMs) have advanced self-learning tools, enabling more personalized interactions. However, learners struggle to engage in meaningful dialogue and process complex information. To alleviate this, we incorporate epistemological frameworks within an LLM-based approach to self-learning, reducing the cognitive load on learners and fostering deeper engagement and holistic understanding. Through a formative study (N=26), we identified epistemological differences in self-learner interaction patterns. Building upon these findings, we present \textit{CausaDisco}, a dialogue-based interactive system that integrates Aristotle's \textit{Four Causes} framework into LLM prompts to enhance cognitive support for self-learning. This approach guides learners' self-learning journeys by automatically generating coherent and contextually appropriate follow-up questions. A controlled study (N=36) demonstrated that, compared to baseline, \textit{CausaDisco} fostered more engaging interactions, inspired sophisticated exploration, and facilitated multifaceted perspectives. This research contributes to HCI by expanding the understanding of LLMs as educational agents and providing design implications for this emerging class of tools.

The Jade Gateway to Trust: Exploring How Socio-Cultural Perspectives Shape Trust Within Chinese NFT Communities

Today's world is witnessing an unparalleled rate of technological transformation. The emergence of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has transformed how we handle digital assets and value. Despite their initial popularity, NFTs face declining adoption influenced not only by cryptocurrency volatility but also by trust dynamics within communities. From a social computing perspective, understanding these trust dynamics offers valuable insights for the development of both the NFT ecosystem and the broader digital economy. China presents a compelling context for examining these dynamics, offering a unique intersection of technological innovation and traditional cultural values. Through a content analysis of eight Chinese NFT-focused WeChat groups and 21 semi-structured interviews, we examine how socio-cultural factors influence trust formation and development. We found that trust in Chinese NFT communities is significantly molded by local cultural values. To be precise, Confucian virtues, such as benevolence, propriety, and integrity, play a crucial role in shaping these trust relationships. Our research identifies three critical trust dimensions in China's NFT market: (1) technological, (2) institutional, and (3) social. We examined the challenges in cultivating each dimension. Based on these insights, we developed tailored trust-building guidelines for Chinese NFT stakeholders. These guidelines address trust issues that factor into NFT's declining popularity and could offer valuable strategies for CSCW researchers, developers, and designers aiming to enhance trust in global NFT communities. Our research urges CSCW scholars to take into account the unique socio-cultural contexts when developing trust-enhancing strategies for digital innovations and online interactions.

ClueCart: Supporting Game Story Interpretation and Narrative Inference from Fragmented Clues

Indexical storytelling is gaining popularity in video games, where the narrative unfolds through fragmented clues. This approach fosters player-generated content and discussion, as story interpreters piece together the overarching narrative from these scattered elements. However, the fragmented and non-linear nature of the clues makes systematic categorization and interpretation challenging, potentially hindering efficient story reconstruction and creative engagement. To address these challenges, we first proposed a hierarchical taxonomy to categorize narrative clues, informed by a formative study. Using this taxonomy, we designed ClueCart, a creativity support tool aimed at enhancing creators' ability to organize story clues and facilitate intricate story interpretation. We evaluated ClueCart through a between-subjects study (N=40), using Miro as a baseline. The results showed that ClueCart significantly improved creators' efficiency in organizing and retrieving clues, thereby better supporting their creative processes. Additionally, we offer design insights for future studies focused on player-centric narrative analysis.
