Thermodynamics and weak cosmic censorship conjecture of the BTZ black holes in the extended phase space

As charged fermions drop into the BTZ black holes, we check the laws of thermodynamics and weak cosmic censorship conjecture in the normal phase space and extended phase space, where the cosmological parameter and renormalization length are regarded as extensive quantities. In the normal phase space, the first and second law of thermodynamics as well as the weak cosmic censorship are valid. While in the extended phase space, though the first law and weakcosmic censorship conjecture are still valid, the second law is dependent on the variation of the renormalization energy $dK$. In addition, in the extended phase space, the configurations of the extremal and near-extremal black holes will not be changed for they are stable while in the normal phase space, the extremal and near-extremal black holes will evolve into non-extremal black holes.

Thermodynamics and weak cosmic censorship conjecture of the torus-like black hole

After studying the energy-momentum relation of charged particles' Hamilton-Jacobi equations, we discuss the laws of thermodynamics and the weak cosmic censorship conjecture in torus-like black holes. We find that both the first law of thermodynamic as well as the weak cosmic censorship conjecture are valid in both the normal phase space and extended phase space. However, the second law of thermodynamics is only valid in the normal phase space. Our results show that the first law and weak cosmic censorship conjecture do not depend on the phase spaces while the second law depends. What's more, we find that the shift of the metric function that determines the event horizon take the same form in different phase spaces, indicating that the weak cosmic censorship conjecture is independent of the phase space.

Thermodynamics and weak cosmic censorship conjecture in (2+1)-dimensional regular black hole with nonlinear electrodynamics sources

We study the dynamical behavior of spinor particles, and get the energy-momentum relation of charged particles by solving the Dirac equation. Based on the energy-momentum relation, we investigate the laws of thermodynamics and the weak cosmic censorship conjecture for the (2+1)-dimensional regular black hole with nonlinear electrodynamics sources in the normal phase space and the extended phase space. Our results show that the first law of thermodynamics as well as the weak cosmic censorship conjecture are valid in both the phase spaces. However, the second law of thermodynamics is violated in the extended phase space, implying that the first law and weak cosmic censorship conjecture do not depend on the phase space while the second law depends. In addition, in the extended phase space, we find the configurations of the extremal and near-extremal black holes will not be changed for the final states and initial states are the same.

Remark on Remnant and Residue Entropy with GUP

In this article, close to the Planck scale, we discuss on the remnant and residue entropy from a Rutz-Schwarzschild black hole in the frame of Finsler geometry. Employing the corrected Hamilton-Jacobi equation, the tunneling radiation of a scalar particle is presented, and the revised tunneling temperature and revised entropy are also found. Taking into account generalized uncertainty principle (GUP), we analyze the remnant stability and residue entropy based on thermodynamic phase transition. In addition, the effects of the Finsler perturbation parameter, GUP parameter and angular momentum parameter on remnant and residual entropy are also discussed.

Holographic Van der Waals phase transition for a hairy black hole

The Van der Waals(VdW) phase transition in a hairy black hole is investigated by analogizing its charge, temperature, and entropy as the temperature, pressure, and volume in the fluid respectively. The two point correlation function(TCF), which is dual to the geodesic length, is employed to probe this phase transition. We find the phase structure in the temperature$-$geodesic length plane resembles as that in the temperature$-$thermal entropy plane besides the scale of the horizontal coordinate. In addition, we find the equal area law(EAL) for the first order phase transition and critical exponent of the heat capacity for the second order phase transition in the temperature$-$geodesic length plane are consistent with that in temperature$-$thermal entropy plane, which implies that the TCF is a good probe to probe the phase structure of the back hole.

Legendre transformations and the thermodynamic geometry of 5D black holes

This paper studies the thermodynamic properties of the 5D black hole in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity from the viewpoint of geometrothermodynamics. It {is found} that the Legendre invariant metrics of the 5D black {holes} in Einstein-Yang-Mills-Gauss-Bonnet {theory and} Einstein-Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet {theory} reproduce the behavior of the thermodynamic interaction and phase transition structure of the corresponding black hole configurations {correctly}. It is shown that they are both curved and {that} the curvature scalar {provides} information about the phase transition point.
