Hierarchical Reconstruction of Time-arrow from Multi-time Correlations

The entropy production rate (EPR), a key measure of thermodynamic irreversibility in thermodynamics of small systems, is difficult to determine directly in experiments, motivating lower-bound-based estimation from observations. However, a systematic framework for organizing increasing amounts of the irreversibility information in experimental state observables into progressively tighter bounds remains lacking. Here, we show that multi-time correlations of a class of state observations naturally encode this information to provide a hierarchy. By defining a reconstruction operation as a combination of correlations, we obtain a sequence of lower bounds on the EPR. Correlations of higher order capture the thermodynamic information at greater temporal depth, thereby capturing more irreversibility and yielding tighter bounds. Under ideal conditions, this hierarchy converges to the full EPR in the limit of infinitely dense observations over a finite time window.

Modeling of Far-Field Quantum Coherence by Dielectric Bodies Based on the Volume Integral Equation Method

The Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) effect is a hallmark of nonclassical two-photon interference. This paper develops a unified theory-numerics framework to compute angle-resolved far-field two-photon correlations from arbitrary lossless dielectric scatterers. We describe the input-output relation using a multi-channel scattering formulation that maps two populated incident channels to two selected far-field detection modes, yielding a compact two-channel transfer relation for second-order correlation function and time-domain coincidence counts. The required transfer coefficients are extracted from classical far-field complex amplitudes computed by an fast Fourier transform-accelerated volume integral equation solver, avoiding perfectly matched layers and near-to-far-field post-processing. The method is validated against analytical results for dielectric spheres and demonstrated on a polarization-converting Pancharatnam-Berry-phase metasurface, revealing strong angular dependence of quantum interference and its direct impact on HOM-dip visibility. The framework provides an efficient and physically transparent tool for structure-dependent quantum-correlation analysis, with potential applications in scatterers-enabled quantum state engineering and quantum inverse design.

A wireless passive pressure sensor with high sensitivity

A high-sensitivity wireless pressure sensor with active processing structure designed on the dielectric substrate has been present and evaluated in this paper. The sensor configuration has been optimized by computer-aided design to achieve highest sensitivity and maximum working range for a given dimension. With the average sensitivity of 187kHz/kPa, the proposed pressure sensor is equipped with the ability to measure pressure loaded up to 1.5MPa under room temperature. Additionally, a novel simulation method applied on pressure related design is proposed in this article, with the accuracy reaching threefold enhancement, filling the blank of electromagnetic simulation of pressure deformation. Other characteristics of the devices have been investigated and are presented.

Recaptured Raw Screen Image and Video Demoiréing via Channel and Spatial Modulations

Capturing screen contents by smartphone cameras has become a common way for information sharing. However, these images and videos are often degraded by moiré patterns, which are caused by frequency aliasing between the camera filter array and digital display grids. We observe that the moiré patterns in raw domain is simpler than those in sRGB domain, and the moiré patterns in raw color channels have different properties. Therefore, we propose an image and video demoiréing network tailored for raw inputs. We introduce a color-separated feature branch, and it is fused with the traditional feature-mixed branch via channel and spatial modulations. Specifically, the channel modulation utilizes modulated color-separated features to enhance the color-mixed features. The spatial modulation utilizes the feature with large receptive field to modulate the feature with small receptive field. In addition, we build the first well-aligned raw video demoiréing (RawVDemoiré) dataset and propose an efficient temporal alignment method by inserting alternating patterns. Experiments demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance for both image and video demoriéing. We have released the code and dataset in https://github.com/tju-chengyijia/VD_raw.
