Combinatorial applications of the special numbers and polynomials

In this paper, by using some families of special numbers and polynomials with their generating functions, we give various properties of these numbers and polynomials. These numbers are related to the well-known numbers and polynomials, which are the Euler numbers, the Stirling numbers of the second kind, the central factorial numbers and the array polynomials. We also discuss some combinatorial interpretations of these numbers related to the rook polynomials and numbers. Furthermore, we give computation formulas for these numbers and polynomials.

Analysis of the p-adic q-Volkenborn Integrals: an approach to Apostol-type special numbers and polynomials

By applying the p-adic q-Volkenborn Integrals including the bosonic and the fermionic p-adic integrals on p-adic integers, we define generating functions, attached to the Dirichlet character, for the generalized Apostol-Bernoulli numbers and polynomials, the generalized Apostol-Euler numbers and polynomials, generalized Apostol-Daehee numbers and polynomials, and also generalized Apostol-Changhee numbers and polynomials. We investigate some properties of these numbers and polynomials with their generating functions. By using these generating functions and their functional equation, we give some identities and relations including the generalized Apostol-Daehee and Apostol-Changhee numbers and polynomials, the Stirling numbers, the Bernoulli numbers of the second kind, Frobenious-Euler polynomials, the generalized Bernoulli numbers and the generalized Euler numbers and the Frobenious-Euler polynomials. By using the bosonic and the fermionic p-adic integrals, we derive integral represantations for the generalized Apostol-type Daehee numbers and the generalized Apostol-type Changhee numbers.

Computation Methods for combinatorial sums and Euler type numbers related to new families of numbers

The aim of this article is to define some new families of the special numbers. These numbers provide some further motivation for computation of combinatorial sums involving binomial coefficients and the Euler kind numbers of negative order. We can show that these numbers are related to the well-known numbers and polynomials such as the Stirling numbers of the second kind and the central factorial numbers, the array polynomials, the rook numbers and polynomials, the Bernstein basis functions and others. In order to derive our new identities and relations for these numbers, we use a technique including the generating functions and functional equations. Finally, we not only give a computational algorithm for these numbers, but also some numerical values of these numbers and the Euler numbers of negative order with tables. We also give some combinatorial interpretations of our new numbers.

New families of special numbers for computing negative order Euler numbers

The main purpose of this paper is to construct new families of special numbers with their generating functions. These numbers are related to the many well-known numbers, which are the Bernoulli numbers, the Fibonacci numbers, the Lucas numbers, the Stirling numbers of the second kind and the central factorial numbers. Our other inspiration of this paper is related to the Golombek's problem \cite{golombek} \textquotedblleft Aufgabe 1088, El. Math. 49 (1994) 126-127\textquotedblright . Our first numbers are not only related to the Golombek's problem, but also computation of the negative order Euler numbers. We compute a few values of the numbers which are given by some tables. We give some applications in Probability and Statistics. That is, special values of mathematical expectation in the binomial distribution and the Bernstein polynomials give us the value of our numbers. Taking derivative of our generating functions, we give partial differential equations and also functional equations. By using these equations, we derive recurrence relations and some formulas of our numbers. Moreover, we give two algorithms for computation our numbers. We also give some combinatorial applications, further remarks on our numbers and their generating functions.

Generating functions for generalized Stirling type numbers, Array type polynomials, Eulerian type polynomials and their applications

The first aim of this paper is to construct new generating functions for the generalized λ-Stirling type numbers of the second kind, generalized array type polynomials and generalized Eulerian type polynomials and numbers, attached to Dirichlet character. We derive various functional equations and differential equations using these generating functions. The second aim is provide a novel approach to deriving identities including multiplication formulas and recurrence relations for these numbers and polynomials using these functional equations and differential equations. Furthermore, by applying p-adic Volkenborn integral and Laplace transform, we derive some new identities for the generalized λ-Stirling type numbers of the second kind, the generalized array type polynomials and the generalized Eulerian type polynomials. We also give many applications related to the class of these polynomials and numbers.

Functional equations from generating functions: a novel approach to deriving identities for the Bernstein basis functions

The main aim of this paper is to provide a novel approach to deriving identities for the Bernstein polynomials using functional equations. We derive various functional equations and differential equations using generating functions. Applying these equations, we give new proofs for some standard identities for the Bernstein basis functions, including formulas for sums, alternating sums, recursion, subdivision, degree raising, differentiation and a formula for the monomials in terms of the Bernstein basis functions. We also derive many new identities for the Bernstein basis functions based on this approach. Moreover, by applying the Laplace transform to the generating functions for the Bernstein basis functions, we obtain some interesting series representations for the Bernstein basis functions.

Unification of the three families of generalized Apostol type polynomials on the Umbral algebra

The aim of this paper is to investigate and introduce some new identities related to the unification and generalization of the three families of generalized Apostol type polynomials, which are Apostol-Bernoulli, Apostol-Euler, and Apostol-Genocchi polynomials, on the modern theory of the Umbral calculus and algebra. We also introduce some operators. Recently, Ozden constructed generating function of the unification of the Apostol type polynomials (see Ozden [H. Ozden, AIP Conf. Proc. 1281, (2010), 1125-1227.]). By using this generating function, we derive many properties of these polynomials. We give relations between these polynomials and Stirling numbers.

Generating functions for the Bernstein polynomials: A unified approach to deriving identities for the Bernstein basis functions

The main aim of this paper is to provide a unified approach to deriving identities for the Bernstein polynomials using a novel generating function. We derive various functional equations and differential equations using this generating function. Using these equations, we give new proofs both for a recursive definition of the Bernstein basis functions and for derivatives of the nth degree Bernstein polynomials. We also find some new identities and properties for the Bernstein basis functions. Furthermore, we discuss analytic representations for the generalized Bernstein polynomials through the binomial or Newton distribution and Poisson distribution with mean and variance. Using this novel generating function, we also derive an identity which represents a pointwise orthogonality relation for the Bernstein basis functions. Finally, by using the mean and the variance, we generalize Szasz-Mirakjan type basis functions.

Construction a new generating function of Bernstein type polynomials

Main purpose of this paper is to reconstruct generating function of the Bernstein type polynomials. Some properties this generating functions are given. By applying this generating function, not only derivative of these polynomials but also recurrence relations of these polynomials are found. Interpolation function of these polynomials is also constructed via Mellin Transformation. This function interpolates these polynomials at negative integers which are given explicitly. Moreover, relations between these polynomials, the generalized Stirling numbers, and Bernoulli polynomials of higher order are given. Furthermore some applications associated with Bézier curve are given.

A New Generating Function of (q-) Bernstein Type Polynomials and their Interpolation Function

The main object of this paper is to construct a new generating function of the (q-) Bernstein type polynomials. We establish elementary properties of this function. By using this generating function, we derive recurrence relation and derivative of the (q-) Bernstein type polynomials. We also give relations between the (q-) Bernstein type polynomials, Hermite polynomials, Bernoulli polynomials of higher-order and the second kind Stirling numbers. By applying Mellin transformation to this generating function, we define interpolation of the (q-) Bernstein type polynomials. Moreover, we give some applications and questions on approximations of (q-) Bernstein type polynomials, moments of some distributions in Statistics.

Special Functions Related to Dedekind Type DC-Sums and their Applications

In this paper we construct trigonometric functions of the sum T_{p}(h,k), which is called Dedekind type DC-(Dahee and Changhee) sums. We establish analytic properties of this sum. We find trigonometric representations of this sum. We prove reciprocity theorem of this sums. Furthermore, we obtain relations between the Clausen functions, Polylogarithm function, Hurwitz zeta function, generalized Lambert series (G-series), Hardy-Berndt sums and the sum T_{p}(h,k). We also give some applications related to these sums and functions.

A generalization of the Widder potential transform and applications

In the present paper the authors consider the $\mathcal{P}_{ν,2}$-transform as a generalization of the Widder potential transform and the Glasser transform. The $\mathcal{P}_{ν,2}$-transform is obtained as an iteration of the the $\mathcal{L}_{2}$-transform with itself. Many identities involving these transforms are given. By making use of these identities, a number of new Parseval-Goldstein type identities are obtained for these and many other well-known integral transforms. The identities proven in this paper are shown to give rise to useful corollaries for evaluating infinite integrals of special functions. Some examples are also given as illustration of the results presented here.

Twisted Dedekind Type Sums Associated with Barnes' Type Multiple Frobenius-Euler l-Functions

The aim of this paper is to construct new Dedekind type sums. We construct generating functions of Barnes' type multiple Frobenius-Euler numbers and polynomials. By applying Mellin transformation to these functions, we define Barnes' type multiple l-functions, which interpolate Frobenius-Euler numbers at negative integers. By using generalizations of the Frobenius-Euler functions, we define generalized Dedekind type sums and prove corresponding reciprocity law. We also give twisted versions of the Frobenius-Euler polynomials and new Dedekind type sums and corresponding reciprocity law. Furthermore, by using p-adic q-Volkenborn integral and twisted (h,q)-Bernoulli functions, we construct p-adic (h,q)-higher order Dedekind type sums. By using relation between Bernoulli and Frobenius-Euler functions, we also define analogues of Hardy-Berndt type sums. We give some new relations related to to these sums as well.
