Internal structures of the baryons $Ξ(2030)$ and $Ξ(2120)$

Currently, there is much controversy surrounding the interpretation of the $Ξ(2030)$ and $Ξ(2012)$ as traditional hadrons containing double strange quarks. In particular, the ratios of the partial decay widths into $Λ\bar{K}$ and $Σ\bar{K}$ for $Ξ(2030)$ cannot obtain a suitable explanation under the $qss$ three quark structure~\cite{Xiao:2013xi}. Thus, we suggest the $Ξ(2030)$ and $Ξ(2012)$ to be $VB(=\bar{K}^{*}Σ/ρΞ/\bar{K}^{*}Λ/ϕΞ/ωΞ)$ molecular states. In this work, we perform a systematical investigation of possible molecular states from the $VB(=\bar{K}^{*}Σ/ρΞ/\bar{K}^{*}Λ/ϕΞ/ωΞ)$ interaction. The interaction of the system considered is described by the $t$-channel vector ($ρ,ω,ϕ,\bar{K}^{*}$) and pseudoscalar ($π,η,\bar{K}$) mesons exchanges. By solving the non-relativistic Schrödinger equation with the obtained one-boson-exchange potentials, the $VB(=\bar{K}^{*}Σ/ρΞ/\bar{K}^{*}Λ/ϕΞ/ωΞ)$ bound states with different quantum numbers are searched. The calculation suggests that $Ξ(2030)$ can be assigned as a $P$-wave $\bar{K}^{*}Σ/ρΞ/\bar{K}^{*}Λ/ϕΞ/ωΞ$ molecular state with spin parity $J^P=5/2^{+}$. The calculation also predict the existence of four $\bar{K}^{*}Σ/ρΞ/\bar{K}^{*}Λ/ϕΞ/ωΞ$ bound states with $J^P=1/2^{\pm}$ and $J^P=3/2^{\pm}$. The $Ξ(2012)$ may be a candidate for one of these four bound states. If $Ξ(2012)$ is an $S$-wave molecular state with $J^P=1/2^{-}$ or $J^P=3/2^{-}$, we suggest determining its spin and parity by studying its decay width, owing to the difference in their molecular components.

Exclusive production of $T^ {-} _{cc}$ in hadron-hadron ultraperipheral collisions

Understanding the production mechanisms and utilizing them as probes to investigate the structure of exotic states represent some of the most actively studied research areas in particle physics. In this study, we present a theoretical analysis of the charmed meson $T^{-}_{cc}$ in the $γp\to{}D^{+}T^{-}_{cc}Λ^{+}_{c}$ and $γγ\to{}D^{+}T^{-}_{cc}D^{*0}$ reactions, considering $T^{+}_{cc}$ as a $DD^{*}$ molecule. The differential cross-section and total cross-section for the photoproduction of $T^{-}_{cc}$ in the $γp\to{}D^+T^{-}_{cc}Λ^{+}_{c}$ and $γγ\to{}D^{+}T^{-}_{cc}D^{*0}$ reactions are presented for nucleus-nucleus (nucleon-nucleon) ultraperipheral collisions at HL-LHC and RHIC, respectively. Taking into account the integrated luminosity per typical run and the luminosity of photons from the nucleus (nucleon), we observe a significant event count for $T^ {-} _{cc}$ production in p-p ultraperipheral collisions at HL-LHC.

Production of the newly observed $\bar{T}_{c\bar{s}0}$ by kaon-induced reactions on a proton/neutron target

Recently, a new doubly charged tetraquark $T^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++}$ and its neutral partner $T^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^0$ at the invariant mass spectrum of $πD_s$ were observed by the LHCb Collaboration. According to its properties, such as the mass and decay width, the $T^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++/0}$ have been suggested to be a compact multi-quark state or a hadron molecule. In order to distinguish the various interpretations of the $T^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++/0}$, we investigate the possibility to study the $\bar{T}^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$ [the antiparticle of $T^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$] by kaon-induced reactions on a proton target in an effective Lagrangian approach. The production mechanism is characterized by the $t$-channel $D$ meson exchange. Our theoretical approach is based on the assumption that $\bar{T}^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$ can be either a $K^{*}D^{*}-D_s^{*}ρ$ molecule or a compact tetraquark state. Using the coupling constants of the $\bar{T}^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$ to $KD$ channel obtained from molecule or compact tetraquark picture of the $\bar{T}^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$, we compute the cross-sections for the process $K^{-}n\to{}\bar{T}^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{--}Λ^{+}_c$. The $\bar{K}N$ initial state interaction mediated by Pomeron and Reggeon exchanges is also included, which reduces the production of the $\bar{T}^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$. Our calculations show that whether $\bar{T}^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)$ is a molecule or a compact tetraquark state, the cross-sections for the $K^{-}n\to{}\bar{T}^{a}_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{--}Λ^{+}_c$ reaction are of similar magnitude, ranging from approximately 0.075 nb to 0.270 nb.

Speaker Diaphragm Excursion Prediction: deep attention and online adaptation

Speaker protection algorithm is to leverage the playback signal properties to prevent over excursion while maintaining maximum loudness, especially for the mobile phone with tiny loudspeakers. This paper proposes efficient DL solutions to accurately model and predict the nonlinear excursion, which is challenging for conventional solutions. Firstly, we build the experiment and pre-processing pipeline, where the feedback current and voltage are sampled as input, and laser is employed to measure the excursion as ground truth. Secondly, one FFTNet model is proposed to explore the dominant low-frequency and other unknown harmonics, and compares to a baseline ConvNet model. In addition, BN re-estimation is designed to explore the online adaptation; and INT8 quantization based on AI Model efficiency toolkit (AIMET\footnote{AIMET is a product of Qualcomm Innovation Center, Inc.}) is applied to further reduce the complexity. The proposed algorithm is verified in two speakers and 3 typical deployment scenarios, and $>$99\% residual DC is less than 0.1 mm, much better than traditional solutions.

Description of the newly observed $Ω^{*}_c$ states as molecular states

In this work, we study the strong decays of the newly observed $Ω^{*}_c(3185)$ and $Ω^{*}_c(3327)$ assuming that $Ω^{*}_c(3185)$ and $Ω^{*}_c(3327)$ as $S$-wave $DΞ$ and $D^{*}Ξ$ molecular state, respectively. Since the $Ω_c^{*}$ was observed in the $Ξ_c^{+}K^{-}$ invariant mass distributions, the partial decay width of $Ω^{*}_c(3185)$ and $Ω^{*}_c(3327)$ into $Ξ_c^{+}K^{-}$ through hadronic loops are evaluated with the help of the effective Lagrangians. Moreover, the decay channel of $Ξ_c^{'}\bar{K}$ is also included. The decay process is described by the $t$-channel $Λ$, $Σ$ baryons and $D_s$, $D_s^{*}$ mesons exchanges, respectively. By comparison with the LHCb observation, the current results support the $Ω^{*}_c(3327)$ with$J^P=3/2^{-}$ as pure $D^{*}Ξ$ molecule while the $Ω^{*}_c(3327)$ with $J^P=1/2^{-}$ can not be well reproduced in the molecular state picture. In addition, the spin-parity $J^P=1/2^{-}$ $DΞ$ molecular assumptions for the $Ω^{*}_c(3185)$ can't be conclusively determined. It may be a meson-baryon molecule with a big $DΞ$ component. Although the decay width of the $Ω_c^{*}\to{}\bar{K}Ξ_c^{'}$ is of the order several MeV, it can be well employed to test the molecule interpretations of $Ω^{*}_c(3185)$ and $Ω^{*}_c(3327)$.

Practical Policy Optimization with Personalized Experimentation

Many organizations measure treatment effects via an experimentation platform to evaluate the casual effect of product variations prior to full-scale deployment. However, standard experimentation platforms do not perform optimally for end user populations that exhibit heterogeneous treatment effects (HTEs). Here we present a personalized experimentation framework, Personalized Experiments (PEX), which optimizes treatment group assignment at the user level via HTE modeling and sequential decision policy optimization to optimize multiple short-term and long-term outcomes simultaneously. We describe an end-to-end workflow that has proven to be successful in practice and can be readily implemented using open-source software.

Scalable End-to-End ML Platforms: from AutoML to Self-serve

ML platforms help enable intelligent data-driven applications and maintain them with limited engineering effort. Upon sufficiently broad adoption, such platforms reach economies of scale that bring greater component reuse while improving efficiency of system development and maintenance. For an end-to-end ML platform with broad adoption, scaling relies on pervasive ML automation and system integration to reach the quality we term self-serve that we define with ten requirements and six optional capabilities. With this in mind, we identify long-term goals for platform development, discuss related tradeoffs and future work. Our reasoning is illustrated on two commercially-deployed end-to-end ML platforms that host hundreds of real-time use cases -- one general-purpose and one specialized.

A Practical Mixed Precision Algorithm for Post-Training Quantization

Neural network quantization is frequently used to optimize model size, latency and power consumption for on-device deployment of neural networks. In many cases, a target bit-width is set for an entire network, meaning every layer get quantized to the same number of bits. However, for many networks some layers are significantly more robust to quantization noise than others, leaving an important axis of improvement unused. As many hardware solutions provide multiple different bit-width settings, mixed-precision quantization has emerged as a promising solution to find a better performance-efficiency trade-off than homogeneous quantization. However, most existing mixed precision algorithms are rather difficult to use for practitioners as they require access to the training data, have many hyper-parameters to tune or even depend on end-to-end retraining of the entire model. In this work, we present a simple post-training mixed precision algorithm that only requires a small unlabeled calibration dataset to automatically select suitable bit-widths for each layer for desirable on-device performance. Our algorithm requires no hyper-parameter tuning, is robust to data variation and takes into account practical hardware deployment constraints making it a great candidate for practical use. We experimentally validate our proposed method on several computer vision tasks, natural language processing tasks and many different networks, and show that we can find mixed precision networks that provide a better trade-off between accuracy and efficiency than their homogeneous bit-width equivalents.

Revealing the inner structure of the newly observed $η_1(1855)$ via photoproduction

Very recently, a new hadronic exotic state $η_1(1855)$ at the invariant mass spectrum of $ηη^{'}$ was observed by the BESIII Collaboration. According to its properties, such as the spectroscopy and decay width, the $η_1(1855)$ have been suggested to be a compact multi-quark state, a hadron molecule, or a hybrid meson. In order to distinguish the various interpretations of the $η_1(1855)$, a Reggeized model combined with the vector dominance model for $η_1(1855)$ photoproduction on the proton target is presented. If the $η_1(1855)$ is a $s\bar{s}g$ hybrid meson, the $η_1(1855)$ can be produced though the Primakoff effect. However, the $η_1(1855)$ photoproduction is dominated by the $t$-channel vector mesons $ρ$, $ω$, and $ϕ$ exchange by assuming $η_1(1855)$ as an $S$-wave $K\bar{K}_1(1400)$ molecular state. Our calculations show that the total cross section of the $η_1(1855)$ production via $γp$ reaction can reach up to 0.115 pb, about 0.0124$\%$ of the total cross section obtained by considering the $η_1(1855)$ as an $S$-wave $K\bar{K}_1(1400)$ molecule. We also find their line shapes are sizably different. If the $η_1(1855)$ is a molecular state, the photoproduction of $η_1(1855)$ near the threshold offers a nice place to test its molecular nature. However, it should be better to take high energy, at least above $E_γ=16.97$ GeV, to observe the production of $η_1(1855)$ if $η_1(1855)$ is a $s\bar{s}g$ hybrid meson. These results can be measured in the GlueX experiment or Electron-Ion Collider in China to test the nature of the $η_1(1855)$.

Hand gesture recognition using 802.11ad mmWave sensor in the mobile device

We explore the feasibility of AI assisted hand-gesture recognition using 802.11ad 60GHz (mmWave) technology in smartphones. Range-Doppler information (RDI) is obtained by using pulse Doppler radar for gesture recognition. We built a prototype system, where radar sensing and WLAN communication waveform can coexist by time-division duplex (TDD), to demonstrate the real-time hand-gesture inference. It can gather sensing data and predict gestures within 100 milliseconds. First, we build the pipeline for the real-time feature processing, which is robust to occasional frame drops in the data stream. RDI sequence restoration is implemented to handle the frame dropping in the continuous data stream, and also applied to data augmentation. Second, different gestures RDI are analyzed, where finger and hand motions can clearly show distinctive features. Third, five typical gestures (swipe, palm-holding, pull-push, finger-sliding and noise) are experimented with, and a classification framework is explored to segment the different gestures in the continuous gesture sequence with arbitrary inputs. We evaluate our architecture on a large multi-person dataset and report > 95% accuracy with one CNN + LSTM model. Further, a pure CNN model is developed to fit to on-device implementation, which minimizes the inference latency, power consumption and computation cost. And the accuracy of this CNN model is more than 93% with only 2.29K parameters.

Analysis of the $η_1(1855)$ as a $K\bar{K}_1(1400)$ molecular state

In this work, we study the radiative and strong decay of $S$-wave $K\bar{K}_1(1400)$ molecular state within the effective Lagrangians approach and find the relation between the $K\bar{K}_1(1400)$ molecular state and the newly observed $η_1(1855)$ state by comparing with the BESIII observation. The prediction indicates that the decay width can reach up to $182.97^{+2.79}_{-3.50}$ MeV, which can be confronted with the experimental data. If the $η_1(1855)$ could be $S$-wave $K\bar{K}_1(1400)$ molecular state, the $K\bar{K}^{*}π$ three-body decay provides the dominant contribution, not the $ηη^{'}$ channel found in the experiment. In addition, the partial width for $η_1(1855)\toγϕ$ can reach up to $17.95^{+0.21}_{-0.43}$ KeV. Those results can be measured in future experiments and used to test the nature of the $η_1(1855)$.

Switching between topological edge states in plasmonic systems using phase-change materials

We introduce non-Hermitian plasmonic waveguide-cavity structures based on the Aubry-Andre-Harper model to realize switching between right and left topological edge states (TESs) using the phase-change material Ge$_2$Sb$_2$Te$_5$ (GST). We show that switching between the crystalline and amorphous phases of GST leads to a shift of the dispersion relation of the optimized structure so that a right TES for the crystalline phase, and a left TES for the amorphous phase occur at the same frequency. Thus, we realize switching between right and left TESs at that frequency by switching between the crystalline and amorphous phases of GST. Our results could be potentially important for developing compact reconfigurable topological photonic devices.

Looper: An end-to-end ML platform for product decisions

Modern software systems and products increasingly rely on machine learning models to make data-driven decisions based on interactions with users, infrastructure and other systems. For broader adoption, this practice must (i) accommodate product engineers without ML backgrounds, (ii) support finegrain product-metric evaluation and (iii) optimize for product goals. To address shortcomings of prior platforms, we introduce general principles for and the architecture of an ML platform, Looper, with simple APIs for decision-making and feedback collection. Looper covers the end-to-end ML lifecycle from collecting training data and model training to deployment and inference, and extends support to personalization, causal evaluation with heterogenous treatment effects, and Bayesian tuning for product goals. During the 2021 production deployment Looper simultaneously hosted 440-1,000 ML models that made 4-6 million real-time decisions per second. We sum up experiences of platform adopters and describe their learning curve.

Molecular states from $\bar{B}^{(*)}N$ interactions

In 2019, two new structures $Λ_b(6146)$ and $Λ_b(6152)$ were observed by the LHCb Collaboration at the invariant mass spectrum of $Λ_b^0π^{+}π^{-}$, which aroused a hot discussion about their inner structures. The $Λ_b(6146)$ and $Λ_b(6152)$ might still be molecular states because their masses are close to threshold of a $\bar{B}$ meson and a nucleon. In this work, we perform a systematical investigation of possible heavy baryonic molecular states from the $\bar{B}N$ interaction. Since the $\bar{B}N$ channel strongly couples to the $\bar{B}^{*}N$ channel, the possible $\bar{B}N-\bar{B}^{*}N$ bound states are also studied. The interaction of the system considered is described by the $t$-channel $σ$, $π$, $η$ ,$ω$, and $ρ$ mesons exchanges. By solving the non-relativistic Schrödinger equation with the obtained one-boson-exchange potentials, the $\bar{B}^{(*)}N$ bound states with different quantum numbers are searched. The calculation suggests that recently observed $Λ_b(6146)$ can be assigned as a $P$-wave $\bar{B}N$ molecular state with spin parity $J^P=3/2^{+}$ or a $\bar{B}N-\bar{B}^{*}N$ bound state. However, assignment of $Λ_b(6152)$ as an $F$-wave $\bar{B}N$ molecular is disfavored. The $Λ_b(6152)$ can be explained as meson-baryon molecular state with a small $\bar{B}N$ component. The calculation also predict the existence of two $S$-wave $\bar{B}N-\bar{B}^{*}N$ bound states that can be related to the experimentally observed $Λ_b(5912)$ and $Λ_b(5920)$.

Possible $P$- wave $D_s\bar{D}_{s0}(2317)$ molecular state $Y^{'}(4274)$

Stimulated by the measurement of the $Jψϕ$ decay model of $Y(4274)$ by the LHCb Collaboration, we consider a possible interpretation of this state as a hadron molecular-a bound state of $D_s$ and $\bar{D}_{s0}(2317)$ mesons. Using effective Lagrangian approach, we calculate the two-body strong decay channels $Y(4274)\to{}J/ψϕ,χ_{c0}η,χ_{c0}η,D^{*}_s\bar{D}_s$, $D\bar{D}^{*}$, $K\bar{K}^{*}$, and $ϕϕ$ through hadronic loops and three-body decays into $π^0{}D_s\bar{D}_s$. In comparison with the LHCb data, our results show that $Y(4274)$ cannot be assigned to be a $D_s\bar{D}_{s0}(2317)$ molecular state. The calculated partial decay widths with $J^P=1^{+}$ $D_s\bar{D}_{s0}$ molecular state picture indicates that allowed decay modes, $χ_{c0}η$ and $χ_{c1}η$, may have the smallest branching ratio and are of the order of 0.0 MeV. Future experimental measurements of such two processes can be quite useful to test the different interpretations of the $Y(4274)$. If $P-$wave $D_s\bar{D}_{s0}$ molecular exist [we marked as $Y^{'}(4274)$], the total decay is at the order of 1.06-1.84 MeV, which seems to be within the reach of the current experiments such as Belle II. In addition, the calculated partial decay widths indicate that allowed decay mode, $D\bar{D}^{*}$, may have the biggest branching ratio. The experimental measurements for this strong decay process could be a crucial to observe such a new state $Y^{'}(4274)$.

Radiative decay of the $Ξ_c(2923)$ in a hadronic molecule picture

In the present work, we study the radiative decay of newly observed $Ξ_c(2923)^0$ based on the successful explanation that $Ξ_c(2923)^0$ is an $S$-wave $DΛ-DΣ$ molecular state in our previous study~\cite{Zhu:2020jke}. The radiative decay width of $DΛ-DΣ$ molecular state into $Ξ_c^0γ$ final state through hadronic loops are evaluated using effective Lagrangians. We find that decay width $Ξ_c(2923)^0\toΞ_c^0γ$ and $Ξ_c(2923)^0\toΞ_c^{'0}γ$ is evaluated to be approximately 1.23-11.66 KeV and 0.30-3.71 KeV, respectively. These are different from the results~\cite{Wang:2020gkn,Bijker:2020tns} that obtained by assuming $Ξ_c(2923)^0$ may be conventional charmed baryon. If measurements are in future experimental, these differences will be very useful to help us to test various interpretations of $Ξ_c(2923)^0$.

Searching for strange hidden-charm pentaquark state $P_{cs}(4459)$ in $γp\to{}K^{+}P_{cs}(4459)$ reaction

We investigate the possibility of studying the strange hidden-charm pentaquark state $P_{cs}(4459)$ by photon-induced reactions on a proton target in an effective Lagrangian approach. The production process is described by the $t$-channel $K^{-}$ exchange, the $u$-channel $Λ$ exchange, the contract term, and the $s$- channel nucleon pole. Our theoretical approach is based on the assumption that $P_{cs}(4459)$ with $J^{P}=1/2^{-}$ or $J^{P}=3/2^{-}$ can be interpreted as a molecule composed of $\bar{D}^{*}Ξ_c$. Using the coupling constants of the $P^{J^P}_{cs}$ to $γΛ$ and $K^{-}p$ channels obtained from molecule picture of the $P^{J^{P}}_{cs}(4459)$, the total cross-sections of the process $γp\to{}P^{J^P}_{cs}K^{+}$ is evaluated. Our calculation indicates that the cross-section for $γp\to{}P^{1/2^{-}}_{cs}K^{+}$ and $γp\to{}P^{3/2^{-}}_{cs}K^{+}$ are of the order of 10.0 pb and 5.0 pb, respectively. In addition, we compute the cross-section by assuming $P_{cs}(4459)$ as a compact pentaquark and find it is quite different from the results of $\bar{D}^{*}Ξ_c$ molecule. Those results can be measured in future experiments, such as the Electron-Ion Collider in China and the United States. And can be used to test the nature of the $P_{cs}$.

Strong decays of the $P_{cs}(4459)$ as a $Ξ_c\bar{D}^{*}$ molecule

In this work, we study the strong decay of the newly observed $P_{cs}(4459)$ assuming that it is a pure $Ξ_c\bar{D}^{*}$ molecular state. Considering two possible spin-parity assignments $J^P=1/2^{-}$ and $J^P=3/2^{-}$ the partial decay widths of the $Ξ_c\bar{D}^{*}$ molecular state into $J/ψΛ$, $D_s^{-}Λ_c^{+}$, and $DΞ_c^{(')}$ final states through hadronic loops are evaluated with the help of the effective Lagrangians. In comparison with the LHCb data, the spin-party $J^P=1/2^{-}$ the assignment is preferred while this of $J^P=3/2^{-}$ is disfavored. The $P_{cs}(4459)$ in spin-parity $J^P=3/2^{-}$ case maybe explained as $S$-wave coupled bound state with lager $Ξ_c\bar{D}^{*}$ component. In addition, the calculated partial decay widths with $J^P=1/2^{-}$ $Ξ_c\bar{D}^{*}$ molecular state picture indicates that allowed decay mode, $DΞ_c^{'}$, may have the biggest branching ratio. The experimental measurements for this strong decay process could be a crucial test for the molecule interpretation of the $P_{cs}(4459)$.
