LegalRikai: Open Benchmark -- Benchmark for Complex Japanese Corporate Legal Tasks

This paper introduces LegalRikai: Open Benchmark, a new benchmark comprising four complex tasks that emulate Japanese corporate legal practices. The benchmark was created by legal professionals under the supervision of an attorney. This benchmark has 100 samples that require long-form, structured outputs, and we evaluated them against multiple practical criteria. We conducted both human and automated evaluations using leading LLMs, including GPT-5, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and Claude Opus 4.1. Our human evaluation revealed that abstract instructions prompted unnecessary modifications, highlighting model weaknesses in document-level editing that were missed by conventional short-text tasks. Furthermore, our analysis reveals that automated evaluation aligns well with human judgment on criteria with clear linguistic grounding, and assessing structural consistency remains a challenge. The result demonstrates the utility of automated evaluation as a screening tool when expert availability is limited. We propose a dataset evaluation framework to promote more practice-oriented research in the legal domain.

AIBrix: Towards Scalable, Cost-Effective Large Language Model Inference Infrastructure

We introduce AIBrix, a cloud-native, open-source framework designed to optimize and simplify large-scale LLM deployment in cloud environments. Unlike traditional cloud-native stacks, AIBrix follows a co-design philosophy, ensuring every layer of the infrastructure is purpose-built for seamless integration with inference engines like vLLM. AIBrix introduces several key innovations to reduce inference costs and enhance performance including high-density LoRA management for dynamic adapter scheduling, LLM-specific autoscalers, and prefix-aware, load-aware routing. To further improve efficiency, AIBrix incorporates a distributed KV cache, boosting token reuse across nodes, leading to a 50% increase in throughput and a 70% reduction in inference latency. AIBrix also supports unified AI runtime which streamlines model management while maintaining vendor-agnostic engine compatibility. For large-scale multi-node inference, AIBrix employs hybrid orchestration -- leveraging Kubernetes for coarse-grained scheduling and Ray for fine-grained execution -- to balance efficiency and flexibility. Additionally, an SLO-driven GPU optimizer dynamically adjusts resource allocations, optimizing heterogeneous serving to maximize cost efficiency while maintaining service guarantees. Finally, AIBrix enhances system reliability with AI accelerator diagnostic tools, enabling automated failure detection and mock-up testing to improve fault resilience. AIBrix is available at https://github.com/vllm-project/aibrix.

The CST Bounce Universe model -- a parametric study

A bounce universe model with a scale-invariant and stable spectrum of primordial density perturbations was constructed using a consistent truncation of the D-brane dynamics from Type IIB string theory. A coupling was introduced between the tachyon field and the adjoint Higgs field on the D3-branes to lock the tachyon at the top of its potential hill and to model the bounce process, which is known as the Coupled Scalar and Tachyon Bounce (CSTB) Universe. The CSTB model has been shown to be ghost free, and it fulfils the null energy condition; in addition, it can also solve the Big Bang cosmic singularity problem. In this paper we conduct an extensive follow-up study of the parameter space of the CSTB model. In particular we are interested in the parameter values that can produce a single bounce to arrive at a radiation-dominated universe. We further establish that the CSTB universe is a viable alternative to inflation, as it can naturally produce a sufficient number of e-foldings in the locked inflation epoch and in the post-bounce expansion to overcome the four fundamental limitations of the Big Bang cosmology, which are flatness, horizon, homogeneity and singularity, resulting in a universe of the current size.

Canonical explicit Bäcklund transformations with spectrality for constrained flows of soliton hierarchies

It is shown that explicit Bäcklund transformations (BTs) for the high-order constrained flows of soliton hierarchy can be constructed via their Darboux transformations and Lax representation, and these BTs are canonical transformations including Bäcklund parameter $η$ and possess a spectrality property with respect to $η$ and the 'conjugated' variable $μ$ for which the pair $(η, μ)$ lies on the spectral curve. As model we present the canonical explicit BTs with the spectrality for high-order constrained flows of the Kaup-Newell hierarchy and the KdV hierarchy.
