A new type of reflected backward doubly stochastic differential equations

In this paper, we introduce a new kind of "variant" reflected backward doubly stochastic differential equations (VRBDSDEs in short), where the drift is the nonlinear function of the barrier process. In the one stochastic case, this type of equations have been already studied by Ma and Wang. They called it as "variant" reflected BSDEs (VRBSDEs in short) based on the general version of the Skorohod problem recently studied by Bank and El Karoui. Among others, Ma and Wang showed that VRBSDEs is a novel tool for some problems in finance and optimal stopping problems where no existing methods can be easily applicable. Since more of those models have their stochastic counterpart, it is very useful to transpose the work of Ma and Wang to doubly stochastic version. In doing so, we firstly establish the stochastic variant Skorohod problem based on the stochastic representation theorem, which extends the work of Bank and El Karoui. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution for VRBDSDEs by means of the contraction mapping theorem. By the way, we show the comparison theorem and stability result for the solutions of VRBDSDEs.

Stochastic viscosity solution for stochastic PDIEs with nonlinear Neumann boundary condition

This paper is an attempt to extend the notion of viscosity solution to nonlinear stochastic partial differential integral equations with nonlinear Neumann boundary condition. Using the recently developed theory on generalized backward doubly stochastic differential equations driven by a Lévy process, we prove the existence of the stochastic viscosity solution, and further extend the nonlinear Feynman-Kac formula.

Approximation Algorithms for Link Scheduling with Physical Interference Model in Wireless Multi-hop Networks

The link scheduling in wireless multi-hop networks is addressed. Different from most of work that adopt the protocol interference model which merely take consideration of packet collisions, our proposed algorithms use the physical interference model to reflect the aggregated signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR), which is a more accurate abstraction of the real scenario. We first propose a centralized scheduling method based on the Integer Linear Programming (ILP) and resolve it by an approximate solution based on the randomized rounding method. The probability bound of getting a guaranteed approximate factor is given. We then extend the centralized algorithm to a distributed solution, which is favorable in wireless networks. It is proven that with the distributed scheduling method, all links can transmit without interference, and the approximate ratio of the algorithm is also given.

Reflected Backward Stochastic Differential Equations Driven by Lévy Process

In this paper, we deal with a class of reflected backward stochastic differential equations associated to the subdifferential operator of a lower semi-continuous convex function driven by Teugels martingales associated with Lévy process. We obtain the existence and uniqueness of solutions to these equations by means of the penalization method. As its application, we give a probabilistic interpretation for the solutions of a class of partial differential-integral inclusions.

Superconducting state properties of a d-wave superconductor with mass anisotropy

YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_7$ (YBCO) exhibits a large anisotropy between the $a$ and $b$ axes in the CuO$_2$ planes because of the presence of CuO chains. In order to account for such an anisotropy we develop a Ginzburg-Landau (GL) theory for an anisotropic d-wave superconductor in an external magnetic field, based on an anisotropic effective mass approximation within CuO$_2$ planes. The anisotropic parameter $λ=m_x/m_y$, where $m_x$ ($m_y$) is the effective mass in the $x$ ($y$) direction, is found to have significant physical consequences: In the bulk case, there exist both the $s$- and $d$-wave order parameters with the same transition temperature, as long as $λ\ne 1$. The GL equations are also solved both analytically and numerically for the vortex state, and it is shown that both the $s$- and $d$-wave components show a two-fold symmetry, in contrast to the four-fold symmetry around the vortex, as expected for the purely $d$-wave vortex. With the deviation of $λ$ from unity, the opposite winding between the $s$- and $d$-wave components observed in the purely $d$-wave case is gradually taken over by the same winding number. The vortex lattice is found to have oblique structure in a wide temperature range with the precise shape depending on the anisotropy.
