Multi-Loop Negative Geometries

Scattering amplitudes in planar ${\cal N}=4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory are dual to expectation values of null polygonal Wilson loops. The Amplituhedron provides a geometric construction for the all-loop integrand as the canonical form on the geometric region in the Grassmannian defined by a certain set of inequalities. For a closely related object, the logarithm of the scattering amplitude, the integrand is reproduced in a similar way using negative geometries. When integrated over all loop momenta except one, the result is infrared (IR) finite and equal to the expectation value of a certain Wilson loop with a Lagrangian insertion. At four points, this quantity, ${\cal F}(g,z)$ only depends on a single cross ratio $z$ and the 't Hooft coupling $g$. At weak coupling, it is known up to three loops from perturbative Wilson loop computations and at strong coupling through the AdS/CFT correspondence at leading order. In this paper, we explore this object further through the lens of the Amplituhedron and negative geometries, which provide very natural IR finite building blocks. We perform an explicit three-loop computation of all negative geometries and show that the number of internal cycles in the diagram is closely linked to the depth of polylogarithms. We calculate the cusp anomalous dimension $Γ_{\rm cusp}$ by integrating ${\cal F}(g,z)$ over $z$. We show that the higher-cycle diagrams are suppressed if we consider separate odd and even zeta contributions. Furthermore, we focus on certain convergent infinite series of one-cycle diagrams, perform all-loop order resummations of such contributions, and discuss various features of the result.

Complete computation of all three-loop five-point massless planar integrals

We calculate all three-loop, five-point, massless planar Feynman integral families in the dimensional regularization scheme. This is a new milestone in Feynman integral computations. The analysis covers four distinct families of Feynman integrals for this configuration, for all of which we derive the canonical differential equations. Our results also confirm a prediction on the three-loop five-point alphabet. The boundary values are analytically determined. Using these differential equations, the integrals can be evaluated to high precision efficiently. Our work establishes the foundation for next-to-next-to-next-to-leading-order (N$^3$LO) calculation of the production of three massless final states, as well as corresponding bootstrap studies in gauge theories.

Three-loop pentagonal Wilson loop with Lagrangian insertion

Employing a cutting-edge bootstrap method, we analytically compute the three-loop pentagonal Wilson loop with Lagrangian insertion in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory. This object is conjectured to coincide with the maximally transcendental part of the four-loop five-point all-plus amplitude in pure Yang-Mills theory. Our starting point is an ansatz that encodes the known leading singularities of this object, as well as the relevant function space. The latter has become available only recently, thanks to an analytic computation of all three-loop five-point planar massless Feynman integrals. We determine the coefficients in the ansatz by imposing physical constraints. This includes a near-collinear expansion, which so far has not been applied to this observable. Taken together, the constraints allow us to uniquely determine the symbol of the answer. We verify the symbol result by an independent integral reduction calculation.

An Analytic Computation of Three-Loop Five-Point Feynman Integrals

We evaluate the three-loop five-point pentagon-box-box massless integral family in the dimensional regularization scheme, via canonical differential equation. We use tools from computational algebraic geometry to enable the necessary integral reductions. The boundary values of the differential equation are determined analytically in the Euclidean region. To express the final result, we introduce a new representation of weight six functions in terms of one-fold integrals over the product of weight-three functions with weight-two kernels that are derived from the differential equation. Our work paves the way to the analytic computation of three-loop multi-leg Feynman integrals.

Two-Loop Spacelike Splitting Amplitude for N=4 Super-Yang-Mills Theory

The study of collinear behavior for gauge theories in the spacelike region is of great phenomenological and theoretical importance. We analytically calculate the two-loop spacelike splitting amplitude for the full color N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory. The result is derived by two complementary methods starting from the known amplitude: one is based on a discontinuity analysis, while the other one is based on analytic continuation. Our result explicitly shows terms that violate naive factorization. However we show that factorization is restored at the level of color-summed unpolarized squared amplitudes at next-to-next-to-next-to leading order. We conjecture that the two-loop tripole terms in the generalized splitting amplitudes in QCD are identical to what we obtain in N=4 super Yang-Mills theory.

An Explicit Expression of Generating Function for One-Loop Tensor Reduction

This work introduces an explicit expression for the generation function for the reduction of an $n$-gon to an $(n-k)$-gon. A novel recursive relation of generation function is formulated based on Feynman Parametrization in projective space, involving a single ordinary differential equation. The explicit formulation of generation functions provides crucial insights into the complex analytic structure inherent in loop amplitudes.

Tensor Perturbations and Thick Branes in Higher Dimensional Gauss-Bonnet Gravity

A thick brane model with Gauss-Bonnet action in a homogeneous anisotropic $D=(4+1+d)$ spacetime is studied. By choosing a concrete metric ansatz, we show that this spacetime is stable against linear tensor perturbations under certain conditions. The graviton zero modes are also given. Besides, we examine a particular example in six-dimensional spacetime with a given warp factor. The coupled background scalar field and its potential are solved analytically. Furthermore, the effective potential of the Kaluza-Klein modes of the graviton is also discussed. We found that the effective potential can have singularities under certain conditions, which are related to the non-differentiability of the graviton zero modes.
