A Cross-Hierarchical Difference Feature Fusion Network Based on Multiscale Encoder-Decoder for Hyperspectral Change Detection

Hyperspectral change detection (HCD) is one of the core applications of remote sensing images, holding significant research value in fields like environmental monitoring and disaster assessment. However, existing methods often suffer from incomplete capture of multiscale spatial-spectral features and insufficient fusion of differential feature information. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a Cross-Hierarchical Differential Feature Fusion Network (CHDFFN) based on a multiscale encoder-decoder. Firstly, a multiscale feature extraction subnetwork is designed, taking the customized encoder-decoder as the backbone, combined with residual connections and the proposed dual-core channel-spatial attention module to achieve multi-level extraction and initial integration of spatial-spectral features. The encoder embeds convolutional blocks with different receptive field sizes to capture multiscale representations from shallow details to deep semantics. The decoder fuses the encoder's output via skip connections to gradually restore spatial resolution while suppressing background noise and redundancy. To enhance the model's ability to capture differential features between bi-temporal hyperspectral images, a spatial-spectral change feature learning module is designed to learn hierarchical change representations. Additionally, an adaptive high-level feature fusion module is proposed, dynamically balancing the contribution of hierarchical differential features by adaptively assigning weights, which effectively strengthens the model's capability to characterize complex change patterns. Finally, experiments on four public hyperspectral datasets show that compared with some state-of-the-art methods, the average maximum improvements of OA, KC, and F1 are 4.61%, 19.79%, and 18.90% respectively, verifying the model's effectiveness.

An Overview of Query Processing on Crowdsourced Databases

Crowd-sourcing is a powerful solution for finding correct answers to expensive and unanswered queries in databases, including those with uncertain and incomplete data. Attempts to use crowd-sourcing to exploit human abilities to process these expensive queries using human workers have helped to provide accurate results by utilising the available data in the crowd. Crowd-sourcing database systems (CSDBs) combine the knowledge of the crowd with a relational database by using some variant of a relational database with minor changes. This paper surveys the leading studies conducted in the area of query processing with regard to both traditional and preference queries in CSDBs. The focus of this work is on highlighting the strengths and the weakness of each approach. A detailed discussion of current and future trends research associated with query processing in the area of CSDBs is also presented.

Gender-Wise Perception of Students Towards Blended Learning in Higher Education: Pakistan

Blended learning (BL) is a recent tread among many options that can best fit learners' needs, regardless of time and place. This study aimed to discover students' perceptions of BL and the challenges faced by them while using technology. This quantitative study used data gathered from 300 students enrolled in four public universities in the Sindh province of Pakistan. the finding shows that students were compatible with the use of technology, and it has a positive effect on their academic experience. The study also showed that the use of technology encourages peer collaboration. The challenges found include: neither teacher support nor a training program was provided to the students for the course which needed to shift from a traditional face to face paradigm to a blended format, a lake of space lies with skills in a laboratory assistants for the courses with a blended format and as shortage of high tech computer laboratories / computer units to run these courses. Therefore, it is recommended that the authorities must develop and incorporate a comprehensive mechanism for the effective implementation of BL in the learning teaching-learning process heads of the departments should also provide additional computing infrastructure to their departments.
