Deformation Expression for Elements of Algebras (IV) --Matrix elements and related integrals--

In this note, we mainly consider the extended Weyl algebra of two generators (u,v), that is, the algebra generated by u,v with the fundamental commutation relation. Weyl algebra is realized on the space of polynomials of u and v by defining various product depending on a symmetric matrix K called the expression parameter. Via such expressions and ordinary calculus one can treat various transcendental elements such as *-exponential functions and elements obtained by integrations.

Noncommutative Deformation of Spinor Zero Mode and ADHM Construction

A method to construct noncommutative instantons as deformations from commutative instantons was provided in arXiv:0805.3373. Using this noncommutative deformed instanton, we investigate the spinor zero modes of the Dirac operator in a noncommutative instanton background on noncommutative R^4, and we modify the index of the Dirac operator on the noncommutative space slightly and show that the number of the zero mode of the Dirac operator is preserved under the noncommutative deformation. We prove the existence of the Green's function associated with instantons on noncommutative R^4, as a smooth deformation of the commutative case. The feature of the zero modes of the Dirac operator and the Green's function derives noncommutative ADHM equations which coincide with the ones introduced by Nekrasov and Schwarz. We show a one-to-one correspondence between the instantons on noncommutative R^4 and ADHM data. An example of a noncommutative instanton and a spinor zero mode are also given.

Noncommutative Deformation of Instantons

We construct instanton solutions on noncommutative Euclidean 4-space which are deformations of instanton solutions on commutative Euclidean 4-space. We show that the instanton numbers of these noncommutative instanton solutions coincide with the commutative solutions and conjecture that the instanton number in R^4 is preserved for general noncommutative deformations. We also study noncommutative deformation of instanton solutions on a T^4 with twisted boundary conditions.

Are Vortex Numbers Preserved?

We study noncommutative vortex solutions that minimize the action functional of the Abelian Higgs model in 2-dimensional noncommutative Euclidean space. We first consider vortex solutions which are deformed from solutions defined on commutative Euclidean space to the noncommutative one. We construct solutions whose vortex numbers are unchanged under the noncommutative deformation. Another class of noncommutative vortex solutions via a Fock space representation is also studied.

Geometric objects in an approach to quantum geometry

Ideas from deformation quantization applied to algebras with one generator lead to methods to treat a nonlinear flat connection. It provides us elements of algebras to be parallel sections. The moduli space of the parallel sections is studied as an example of bundle-like objects with discordant (sogo) transition functions, which suggests us to treat movable branching singularities.

Star exponential functions as two-valued elements

We propose a relatively new notion of two-valued elements, which arises naturally in constructing the star exponential functions of the quad-ratics in the Weyl algebra over the complex number field. This notion enables us to describe the group like objects of the set of star exponential functions of quadratics in the Weyl algebra.

Expressions of algebra elements and transcendental noncommutative calculus

Ideas from deformation quantization are applied to deform the expression of elements of an algebra. Extending these ideas to certain transcendental elements implies that $\frac{1}{i\h}uv$ in the Weyl algebra is naturally viewed as an indeterminate living in a discrete set $\mathbb{N}{+}{1/2}$ {\it or} ${-}(\mathbb{N}{+}{1/2})$ . This may yield a more mathematical understanding of Dirac's positron theory.

Stokes' formulae on classical symbol valued forms and applications

The Wodzicki residue and the cut-off integral extend to classical symbol-valued forms. We show that they obey a Stokes' type property and that the extended Wodzicki residue can be interpreted as a complex residue like the ordinary one. In the case of cut-off integrals, Stokes' property (i.e. vanishing on exact forms) only holds for non-integer order symbol-valued forms and leads to an integration by parts formula and translation invariance for cut-off integrals on non-integer order classical symbols. The extended Wodzicki residue yields an even residue cycle on classical symbols and an odd cochain (the cosphere cochain) which measures an obstruction to Stokes' property of the cut-off integral on integer order symbol-valued forms.

Universal Deformation Formulae for Three-Dimensional Solvable Lie groups

We apply methods from strict quantization of solvable symmetric spaces to obtain universal deformation formulae for actions of every three-dimensional solvable Lie group. We also study compatible co-products by generalizing the notion of smash product in the context of Hopf algebras. We investigate in particular the dressing action of the `book' group on SU(2).

Smooth *-algebras

Looking for the universal covering of the smooth non-commutative torus leads to a curve of associative multiplications on the space $\Cal O_M'(\Bbb R^{2n})\cong \Cal O_C(\Bbb R^{2n})$ of Laurent Schwartz which is smooth in the deformation parameter $\hbar$. The Taylor expansion in $\hbar$ leads to the formal Moyal star product. The non-commutative torus and this version of the Heisenberg plane are examples of smooth *-algebras: smooth in the sense of having many derivations. A tentative definition of this concept is given.
